The staff is helpful, know the stock, and will help you search. After wandering on both sides of the store for awhile, I left . Several years ago I had a similar, but not so blatant experience in this store. I'm now driving an hour to Talbots in Williamsport and suggest others do the same.

Mom recently lost her beloved husband of nearly 7 decades. Due to Dad's illness, and Mom's cognitive decline, my mother's clothing had become beyond worn-out. It would have been impossible for me to leave my mother, alone, in the dressing room, while I went repeatedly searching the store for proper sizes. Brandy came to our rescue, without being asked. Due to her invaluable assistance - for 2+ hours - we were able to find 7 quality, mix-and-match pieces. I had been thinking that my only option would be to buy online from Talbots, with repeated shipments, exchanges and returns. Brandy made it all possible, with unexpected ease, never missing a beat. The store now resembles a bargain basement closeout. All the racks and displays are packed with very low quality items. The employees used to be nicely dressed and very helpful. Now appear to be young college girls wearing sweatshirts and jeans. The prices are also high given the poor quality. I won't be shopping there any time again soon.

So Urban Outfitters has finally made its way to State College. Located right in the heart of…read moredowntown State College is where you can find a haven for college kids. This Urban is pretty much the same cookie cutter layout that you'd find in any major city or mall. The store itself is split into two floors, with the first floor dedicated to women, and the second floor to men and other misc items. Traffic throughout the store isn't too bad throughout the week, as students are scattered around downtown and campus so there isn't really ever a line here. As far as the selection goes, it pretty much has everything you'd find at a full-fledged Urban Outfitters. From shoes, to random books, to clothes, you'll find them all over at Urban. This place is great for the college student who's on a budget, but on the downside, the quality of the clothing and other things sold here is mediocre. For an older individual who wants more quality items, you probably would want to shy away from Urban. Just come here to buy a t-shirt for $20, and if it rips after 5x of wear, then oh well!

I always find it a huge disappointment when you walk into one of these and the men's section is almost nonexistent. And what is available is like the leftovers that probably would end up at Goodwill. Very few times have I been able to find anything clothing wise. With the pared down selection, and sparse items, this place felt cavernous. To the point if you weren't in here with other customers, you would feel like you were in a movie where you are the only person left. Customer service was over the top here. That is one area where they did succeed at.

Instead of politely taking my clothes out of the bin, the employee quite literally flipped the bin upside down, dumping my clothes on the counter. Didn't catch the name, but had pins on lanyard.
