This review is more for my experience with my selected therapist than for Xplor Counseling itself,…read morealthough they were communicative with my request for therapy and honest about the potential 5 week wait (or more). After about a month, Xplor let my know that my choice in therapist, Joanne H, would be reaching out to schedule. She did and about a week and a half later, we were meeting face-to-face in an office space she borrows in Aiea, which was so much closer to my Ewa Beach location. I met with Joanne for about 3 months and saved her number for any "maintenance" that I may require in the future. I really enjoy her style of therapy. It's honest, thought provoking, and non judgmental. She didn't feed me the "and how does that make you feel" BS; rather she asked the tough questions and really had me taking a look at my concerns from the inside out. She validated my feelings and helped me to rationalize them to take the emotion out and move forward in a way that gave me the confidence in myself to really make changes that I can be proud of. For some context, my son married a young lady who is not, at this point, accepting his family as openly as we are willing to accept her. It has not been easy, and it's far from resolved, but my time with Joanne helped me to own what's mine, rebuild my relationship with my son, and let go of the parts that are out of my control. Thank you, Joanne, for making it so easy to be open and honest with you and with myself.

They are very organized, flexible, customer service oriented, compassionate, and highly knowledgeable with the in and outs of care both online and in-person. Highly highly recommend them, especially for the military/VA patients that use community care. Their access to care is probably the best on island. The communication from booking appointments to handling insurance and referrals has been nothing but AMAZING.

I just got out of the hospital and everything was in order. The caseworker had set me up with Aja…read more When I got out, I had an appointment and I saw her. In the first Zoom meeting, I kept telling her about what's going on with my family and how important it is and she said she can't help me regarding my child, but she can help me with just me. I kept telling her that something was going on with my child that made me feel a certain way so that I needed to talk about that. She kept saying that she cannot help my child and I understood that. Anyways, I told her that if she specializes in human trafficking and she's a Christian because that's the two things that I was shocked to see someone had a specialty in and that is what I needed help in. I believed this was set up and a blessing from above, from God himself because how easy is it to find Christian-based therapy with specific things you're going through? She just seemed very dismissive and she seemed like she didn't wanna see me and I just told her that I feel like this is a very important matter to me that I need to speak about it and then we eventually came to a mutual understanding about what I needed in therapy. In the second session, she said that I cannot see her anymore because I need to take medicine and I already have a therapist. I told her I don't have a therapist. Their office and the hospital just said that I have one, but that I don't. I'm not seeing one right now. I was seeing one from before but I am not seeing anyone but her. She said if I don't do the medicine (which the hospital didn't require) then they can't see me. I said fine I don't think we can do this then. So we mutually agreed to end services with one another. Then I decided to go to Linda. So I made an appointment with her. The day I got a phone call, I didn't respond because I was busy. They left me an email saying my appointment was canceled the day of and they sent me an email discharging me. I called the office and the girl said the manager said I am not a good fit so they will not be seeing me anymore. I asked to speak to the supervisor to get this right. She was listening to everything that I said I said I was gonna write a Yelp review. I said that I did the survey just so that they would have feedback to know what went on with me. To know that I wasn't satisfied, wasn't helped, didn't feel hurt, just got out of the hospital, I don't have a therapist now and now I have to look for one, and they just didn't help the way that I needed them to. They kicked me out two times. So I confirmed with the manager about her saying I am not a good fit and they won't be seeing me anymore. So I got an email that they discharged me and I just told them I don't trust them or feel comfortable doing any work with them or any services with them anymore. And it's there. I would not recommend anyone who just got out of the hospital who's kind of vulnerable and is trusting people to help them to just go here and expect them to actually help, as they treated me like easy throw away patient, with no compassion.

With COVID having affected and changed so many lives in more ways than one since March 2020 (well…read moreover a year now as of this writing), psychologists and therapists have been in such high demand! I came across DalyBeth and Positive Health Hawaii after searching around for places that had openings and/or were accepting new patients, which as expected was super hard to come by and especially within a short time. Having been living alone and hardly able to see the closest friends for the last year now along with dealing with lots of tension within another organization that I'm working for on a part-time basis, I've been trying to seek help with my mental health and depression that has literally taken its toll on my life, I am very thankful for DalyBeth! She has been willing to listen to my situation and stories and has made plenty of helpful suggestions on helping myself relieve stress from my life. Now although I haven't gotten to some of them quite yet and admittedly may not be comfortable doing certain ones just yet, I've taken lots of notes and been trying to put her advice to great use. I'll definitely be consulting with DalyBeth periodically and again very soon, and hopefully I'll get to meet her in-person. Right now, lots of these psychologists and therapists are doing telehealth sessions or through online sources like ZOOM (not a fan of virtual events, quite frankly).

Ths clinic's communication, treatment, and overall experience leaves everything to be desired. Communication - No one answers the phone upon calling. If you do manage to receive a call back, the individuals make it seem like they are doing you a favor. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Marie, who not only insulted me, but made the experience that much worse. Also, forget about hearing from the doctor at all. You cannot communicate with them. Treatment - I dealt with Dr. Josephine Horita. Her personal interaction is tone deaf and she is incapable of even understanding, let alone dealing with, uncomfortable situations. If you give her an emotional hurdle or situation, she will avoid addressing it completely. She created an absoutely unsafe environment by stating that there is nothing wrong with people constantly tell me " Ishould be dead" and "go kill yourself". I dont understand how a therapist thinks this is ok, let alone has a license. Treatment Farming - Dr. Horita doesnt will induce bias into her treatment. Her goal is to refer you to as many of her doctor friends as possible, so she and the clinic can earn referral bonuses. Again, avoid this place at all costs. You will not improve, nor will your lived ones. Therapy should be a place where uncomfortable truths are dealt with and worked through, not avoided.
