I genuinely can say that Dr. Halweg's knowledge, expertise, diagnostic help, and treatment plans have kept my boys alive through serious mental health issues, ADD/ADHD, ASD, anxiety, and times of depression. He has always been very conservative with his suggested treatments, starting with changes in diet, daily habits, supplements or exercise before we tried prescription medication...which I appreciated. When necessary, his knowledge of medication and how different parts of the brain work or react has been critical to pinpointing any changes or expectations. I always think meeting in person is more engaging, but the fact that he offers telemedicine options has been incredibly helpful through Covid or other locational moves such as college for my kids. Dr. Halweg also has always treated my husband and I as welcome participants in my children's sessions too, since we could provide insight for better care. What stood out most to me is how much he respected my real-life stressors and not just symptoms to treat with medications. When I faced a difficult situation at work, Dr. Imanaka didn't hesitate to advocate for me. He helped with timely documentation, never downplayed my experience, and always made sure I understood my options without pushing anything I wasn't ready for. He's incredibly responsive, compassionate, and professional. I never felt rushed or dismissed during our appts. Unsure as to what I could do, I started reaching out to various providers to start seeing someone new. It took me a month, but I finally came across Dr. Blaisdell. I left a message with her, and I got a quick call back that very same day. And I have been seeing Dr. Blaisdell since that day. Dr. Blaisdell is a very warm, yet practical individual, and she helped me to navigate some of the toughest times in my life. She always listened with an open heart and mind and provided me with advice, suggestions, and resources that would help me through difficulties, as well as the activities of everyday life. She doesn't believe in overmedicating someone because of issues, but instead she tries (and successfully) so to reach a balance between medication and therapy. I came across DalyBeth and Positive Health Hawaii after searching around for places that had openings and/or were accepting new patients, which as expected was super hard to come by and especially within a short time. Having been living alone and hardly able to see the closest friends for the last year now along with dealing with lots of tension within another organization that I'm working for on a part-time basis, I've been trying to seek help with my mental health and depression that has literally taken its toll on my life, I am very thankful for DalyBeth! She has been willing to listen to my situation and stories and has made plenty of helpful suggestions on helping myself relieve stress from my life. Through my work with him -- including approaches such as IFS and EMDR -- I can honestly say that my mental health and my life overall are better than I ever thought possible. Jeremy has truly been a lifesaver. I cannot recommend him, or his Center for Healing and Transformation, highly enough. What sets Jeremy apart is that he doesn't just listen and nod and send you on your way until the next session. He is deeply trained in a wide range of therapeutic modalities and actually equips you with real tools, exercises, and practices that you can apply in your everyday life -- even after the session ends. He has also helped me revisit and work through experiences from my younger self -- things that happened many years ago but continued to quietly influence how I saw the world and how I showed up in it. So when you meet with her, she asks the medicines you are taking then you are locked into 50 mins of her stories about why she can't help you while you take your medication. And she talks to you about other drug options like drops, medical canibus and ketamine. I found it professionally idiotic, a waste of time and I basically dissociated to be polite. I wish there had been an intake paper in big RED letters that said do not make an appointment with this provider if you are on any psychiatric medication. It is unbelievable to think that people with complex trauma that are functional would be pushed to completely get off their medication to do therapy with this Dr. that comes across as mainly self interested. She shared way too many client examples. She didn't break confidentiality. She did use an example of helping someone that had experienced sodomy. That was too much. Just that word alone made me disturbed for the evening. She's too much about herself. And the hour was a waste of time. I wanted to hang up after a few minutes but was unsure of how to do that, or if I would be charged.
