Unfortunately, though, my experience during the service was quite uncomfortable, and I'm paying for it today with extremely sore and painful fingertips. My nail technician was a man wearing glasses. When I sat down, I explained to him that I am a massage therapist and that I am also diabetic. I specifically asked him to please be gentle and careful around my fingers and cuticles because I wanted to avoid any cuts or potential infection. Unfortunately, I felt that my concerns were not taken into consideration. His technique was extremely aggressive, and at one point I had to stop him and tell him that he was being way too rough. I even asked him if he was a carpenter or worked in construction because of how forcefully he was handling my nails. He used a very rough Dremel-type file to prep my nails and repeatedly used the tip of his thumb to press firmly around my cuticles in an attempt to separate the nail glue from my skin. The pressure was quite uncomfortable, and today my fingertips are extremely sore. I want to emphasize that the final results are beautiful, and my daughter's nails look gorgeous as well. I am very happy with how they turned out. Unfortunately, however, I feel that I had to suffer quite a bit physically to get those results. I would have gladly given a 5-star review if my technician had been more attentive to my concerns and had used a much gentler touch. I'm sharing this respectfully because I think the service could have been a much more positive experience if my request for extra care had been taken seriously.
