There are a good handful of Retina specialists in the San Diego area. Gariano is not one of them and had I done my due diligence, I would still be driving today. And no, I'm not super old. Lastly. this portion relates more to Scripps itself. 99,9% of their clinicians are fantastic. I felt well cared for. Unfortunately, Scripps was made aware of the situation and chose to do absolutely nothing other than protect their Doctor. Not surprising. what was surprising however, was any contact with Gariano or his staff stopped completely, once I alerted Scripps administration of the devastating situation. No more follow-ups. Silence. Left hanging with a damage retina and the need for a corneal transplant. Not so much as a simple I'm sorry from Gariano, but of course, any apology would be considered an admission of potential malpractice I guess. Although Dr. Arun wasn't the on-call physician today, she saw me early. I am so grateful to her. Additionally, she alleviated my pain and suffering that I had after my Urgent Care visit. Dr. Arun patiently explained to me how the process works for my path going forward. She is such an exceptional doctor. I am very glad she accepted me today. Dr. Arun prescribed the correct Rx. This used to be the premiere health care, or at least second. And they are consistently slipping from that. The level of customer service at the front desk, the amount of time the doctors actually spend with you, makes me wonder if they have switched to a for profit healthcare system. Not horrible. The procedure from start to finish took about 15 minutes. As stated, my appointment was originally scheduled for 8:15. I was in my car leaving at 8:15! This is an ER. There's a reason people come to ER. It's an emergency. 5. Once I was in I had to sit in a chair until a bed became available. 6. At this step things started improving. I was in a room and on a bed and attended to by two lovely, kind, and sweet nurses named Gabi and Miranda. I felt comfortable and taken care of. Thank you! 7. Physician assistant Dr. White was very good too. He was thorough and answered all of my questions patiently and in detail. Thank you. I was discharged after a total of 5 hours.

This facility will not accept a motorized wheelchair in their facility, even if we said it would just be parked in their room so my loved one had a proper and safe place to sit that can be adjusted to their needs. After hearing this we never admitted our loved one. Care at home was a much better and safer option for us.
