My car was taken there for suspension work and radiator hoses from a minor accident. Shame on these guys. They not only put all the wrong parts on the car, but they said they never test drove it. Ok so I did with the mechanic and my husband. The guy had the nerve to ask if I could drive (it's a car, I've driven semis) and the whole wheel well was flapping.. which they just told me to rip off. They kept saying how I needed a new car. Total red flag. (I didn't, my car had just been inspected by a real mechanic). I get the car home, it's empty of trans oil and the raidator hoses were too large, getting caught in the fan. Their solution was to put trans fluid (not the oil my car takes) and zip tie the hoses. I took it to my trusted mechanic out of the area where we discovered they took my car for a 90 mile joyride, crashed it again.. and blew my engine and trans by way overheating the car. We don't know how, it was a new radiator. My mechanic has a pages long list of how they launched my perfectly good car. He's never seen such s****y work in his life. I called them and gave them one chance to make it right per my lawyer and they denied and got rude. So many people in the area brag about this place and my mechanic and I don't know why. read more

Should you need your auto repaired, competently, This is the place. Conroy's Amoco is what used to be in every village, town and city. A gas station that does reliable auto repair. We live in South Dakota, traveling east to ultimately celebrate our grandson's 14th birthday. Our Winnebago Rialta showed we had an oil pressure failure problem. We called for help and were connected to the Conroy Towing Service. That was on a Sunday morning, Sept 14, 2014. We were at the Versailles Exit about a mile south of I-80, and the tow truck reached us in what I considered a very short time. Paul, the operator was courteous and understanding, made some calls on his cell phone to for information where we might find assistance. We decided to have him drop us at 'the shop' as he called it, which was Conroy's Amoco Station. We were 500+ miles from home, at least 1000 miles from our destination, and completely out of touch with our 'REALITY'. Since our motor home on their lot, we were told we could stay in our motor home so we wouldn't have the expense of a motel. We were even loaned extension cords to get power to the unit. Everyone of the staff were friendly, courteous, understanding and helpful to help with what we needed. The mechanics arrived at work at 8:00am on Monday morning. The Rialta was moved to one of the service stalls, performed tests to locate the cause of the problem, and as soon as their parts supplier could get what was needed, an oil pressure sensor, it was installed, checked, and released to our custody again. The price for towing, parts, supplies and labor were less than I had mentally estimated. When we go through Ottawa, IL, we'll stop for fuel and supplies, if we need it, or not. I find it comforting that there are still auto repair shops that charge a fair rate for their services, whether you live in their town, or are just broke down when passing through.
