The arborists at Conservation Tree Care know how to prune your trees and shrubs so they look well groomed, yet retain their natural shape and personality. The most amazing transformation in our yard was on a 50-year old red lace-leaf Japanese maple by our front walkway. When the arborist came it looked like a bushy red pom pom. All its beautiful branches were invisible. But afterward pruning, the tree's structure appeared and the whole tree had a wonderful open and graceful look. I was truly stunned by the change and it pleases me every time I walk by it. Our entire yard was becoming overgrown and the arborist shaped several shrubs and small trees in our front yard. They were so artfully pruned they looked like they had been taken back in time to when they were a smaller version of themselves. The arborist also removed some lower branches on a large pine and shaped a large japanese maple to create greater clearance from the side of our house. Allen and the gang are exceptional! Paradoxically, it looks like they did both a TON, and nothing at all to our three giant firs. The trees now look beautifully free of dead limbs and clear of utilities while also appearing untouched by human hands. This work on our many trees was outstanding. We are very, very pleased with the care and concern Allen showed for our property and trees. He even rescued a "dray" of squirrels (a nest of babies). Our neighbors really appreciated his thoughtful approach. Our trees have been hacked in the past by climbing cowboys. Allen and CTC are great to work with. We had a 60 foot hemlock in our yard died, and we needed it removed. We had some other pruning of big limbs off an old walnut tree as well. Both trees are hard to access and in a kind of tricky locale. We had two other companies make a bid, and CTC's was the best, and Allen just made me feel confident going with CTC. Requesting a quote was easy, and Allen came out quickly, listened to our situation and walked us through his recommendations. Allen and his team are amazing. They pruned 5 trees for us including a monstrous Leyland Cypress in our back yard neighbors that was encroaching to the point that we got no sun. We also now have a Japanese maple that looks like a Japanese maple and not a hedgehog. The entire team took the time to engage and work with very curious neighbors, asking if they could make additional cuts or take specific branches for them. They wore masks the entire time which we appreciated and couldn't have been easy considering the physical nature of their work. We've had a lot done to our home recently - roof, deck, chimney - and feel very fortunate to have worked with excellent people. It was an absolute pleasure working with Allen and the rest of the crew at Conservation Tree Care! The whole crew is professional, prompt, and great at communicating. We had Allen assess the four giant cedars on our property we needed pruned, and he walked us through how he would approach the job and what we could expect after it was done. I felt comfortable about the quote they provided and although we had a few other companies/arborists come out to provide estimates, we ultimately chose Conservation Tree Care. A huge factor in that decision was their communication with us from start to finish. I've had numerous experiences with other arborists/pruning companies who are really interested in getting you a quote, but then go completely quiet when I have follow up questions after the face-to-face meeting. Allen was always available to answer our questions and even walked us through some of the changes were necessary once they started the pruning. On the day of the appointment, Allen and three additional members of his crew arrived on time and ready to go! My wife and I were impressed with how much work they got done in a single day (started around 9am finished around 5pm), how clean they left the job site, and most importantly, how great our trees looked after the pruning! My goal was to revitalize two very old fruit trees, a pear and an apple by pruning them correctly; Allen and Travis did not disappoint. The estimate was done promptly and, after that, Allen answered helpfully many questions about my trees and arranged to do work at the time best for the trees. Our project was pretty small, a major reshaping of a fig tree and some pruning of smaller trees and shrubs, but Allen was prompt, proactive and professional in submitting his estimate and scheduling as soon as post-COVID guidelines allowed. He was thorough, knowledgeable and provided us with great information about the health of our 15 cedar trees and provided us with suggestions for care of the trees that had been affected by a recent remodel. We found Allen when we were trying to figure out what the trees were on our new home's property, and whether they were dying or could be saved and made more attractive. Allen came to our house to give us his opinion on the trees, gave us a bid for the work, and scheduled within just a couple of weeks. When he came, he worked hard and quickly. He practiced good safety, which was important to us since he was HIGH up in big trees. He pruned the trees to be much healthier and more attractive, and he cleaned up thoroughly afterward. Allen did an excellent job on my old apple and plum trees. He was very responsive to my concerns, and explained everything thoroughly. He thinned out a lot of branches for more light, and reduced the circumference of the tree to take some of the weight off the apple tree to extend it's life. He also helped prune out the Witches Broom in my plum tree. He has a large chipper and cleaned everything up. I highly recommend Allen. He is a very pleasant person as well. read more
