Dan removing a couple trees from my back yard
    Joe K.

We had a tree fall on our house in the wind storm last week. I found Pacific Rim Tree on YELP and liked their reviews. Dan showed up and gave us a quote and ended up coming back a couple times to clean up what he could with the weather conditions limiting what he could do. Dan and his team are awesome, they showed up when they said they would, got right to work, and even raked up the leaves when they were done. I would highly recommend them to anyone and use them again!

    Working on cutting tree limbs

==Executive Summary== Looking for tree removal services? Look no further than Dan K and Pacific Rim Tree Service. I had Dan and his company remove trees from my yard, which were damaging the roof to my house. The two trees had diameters over 36-inches, over 115-feet tall! Even my neighbor had his tree moved at the same time mine were. The trees were de-limbed and shredded. Then the trunk was converted into firewood. After which, the stump was grounded. Dan's crew was a great pleasure to work with, adherence to schedule, best bid, and I'm happy with the result of their wonderful work. At the time of this review, Pacific Rim Tree Service is Licensed, Bonded, and Insured, with no errors on State File. ==================== I had two fir trees (over 36-inches in diameter, and at least over 115-feet tall) that required their removal as they were damaging the roof of my house, are a safety hazard, and were causing additional yard maintenance tasks that would prefer not to waste my time on. After months of searching on the internet, Yelp, talking to friends, researching L&I backgrounds, and getting bidding quotes for each company, I found that Pacific Rim Tree Services, with Dan K is the best in communication, customer service, knowledge, best bid, and most of all, no errors on the State Record, and fully licensed, bonded and insured! Dan is quick to communicate over email or phone, and came by pretty quickly to do the initial assessment. After the initial examination and I heard his entire process of what he will do, what he needed, and planned everything out - I was sold then and there. This level of knowledge, great number of experience, and no up-selling or haggling tactics; just pure honesty really made me want to do business with him. We agreed to a later date for when he and his crew will stop by to remove my trees. It actually gave me time to remove some fencing to provide easier access for his equipment. On the day of the tree removal, Dan and his crew got started early in the day, climbing up on the trees to cut down the limbs and proceed with getting them chipped. Afterwards, the trunk was dealt with by bring it down onto my yard for processing to firewood. After this, the stump was grounded. I am very happy with the result of all the this hard work, I don't have to deal with tree limbs falling threatening to fall my house, or tree debris damaging my roof, and the back yard has more sunlight beaming into it. Now I have to figure out what to do with all of this yard space! With respect to Dan and the rest of his crew, I'm very pleased with their work, adherence to schedule, their communication; the entire process went according to the plan that was laid down. During the tree removal process or stump grinding, I noticed that they deployed large sheets of plywood around the work site or the walkways to prevent loose debris from damaging my house. That is a sign of attention to detail. If you need trees to be removed, look no further to Dan K of Pacific Rim Tree Service; he is a pleasure to work with, communicative, and conducted the job effectively. He did such a good job in my trees that I hear that the rest of the neighborhood will be looking at him soon enough. ==Note== While there isn't a website at the time this review was written - there is an email address, which is danstreeschedule@gmail.com

Our first job was a major one: removing a very large tree--well over 100 feet tall--that was leaning toward our home. It was not an easy decision, as we loved that tree, but safety came first. The care, professionalism, and respect MTS showed throughout the process meant everything to us. The work was done safely and expertly, the cleanup was immaculate, and the crew treated the situation with genuine understanding. It was clear right away that this is not just a tree removal company--these are true arborists who deeply understand and respect the trees they work with. Years later, when our landscape needed attention again, MTS was the obvious choice. We had overgrown laurels we couldn't safely trim ourselves, neighboring trees contributing constant pine needles to our gutters, and several shrubs that needed proper pruning and reshaping. MTS sent an arborist to walk the property with us, listen carefully, explain our options, and help us prioritize the work within a realistic budget. There was no pressure--just knowledgeable, honest guidance. The crew that completed the work was outstanding: professional, articulate, thoughtful, and incredibly clean. They did all the pruning we discussed, answered our questions, and even offered species-specific advice--explaining how certain pruning choices would improve the long-term health and appearance of our plants rather than harm them. We plan to use MTS Tree and Landscape every couple of years for ongoing pruning and for all future tree and landscape needs. It is rare to find a company this skilled, respectful, and genuinely invested in their clients' property. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

Devin and his team showed up on time, were incredibly friendly, worked fast, and were true professionals. They cut down a 100 ft. Hemlock and a 50 ft. Eastside Tree Works is, by a wide margin, the best of all of them. The experience started before they even did any work. The salesman who came out for the estimate showed up with an iPad, walked the entire property with me, took photos and video of each tree, tagged the ones we discussed, and had a detailed estimate ready before he left. He clearly knew what he was talking about and took real time to talk through what would work best for the trees and the house, not just push a generic package. When he found out I was a military veteran, he knocked a nice discount off the price without me even asking. The crew that came to do the work was just as impressive. A full team showed up with a large bucket lift and worked through limbing up several big Douglas firs, doing conifer cleaning, and taking down two medium-sized trees. They moved like a team that's worked together for years, communicated constantly, and checked in with me more than once while they were up in the trees to make sure they were limbing to the height I wanted rather than just guessing. When I mentioned my chainsaw had been giving me trouble, they took the time to fix it on the spot. What really sealed it was the cleanup. After 25 years of tree work at this house, I've never had a crew leave the property looking better than when they found it, but that's exactly what happened here. If you need tree work done in the Redmond/Eastside area, stop looking and call Eastside Tree Works. Professional, knowledgeable, fairly priced, and genuinely good people to have on your property. I would highly recommend them!

We opted to split the work between two companies who replied. Eastside Tree Works is one of the two companies; they were hired to crown-reduce/windsail/shape a flowering plum and a katsura tree. I waited to write the review to see how the trees recover and regrow. The quoting and initial process was very smooth and professional. Their response is fast for both the initial meet-up and providing the quote. Everything was done on their iPad, and quotes sent soon after. The task was also completed quickly. The task isn't significant, and they readily came and finished. The clean-up details are excellent. When done, I observed the flowering plum looked shapely but the katsura looked like a bad haircut. They agreed to come out and trim a stray branch that stuck out compared to the rest of the katsura crown. The katsura never regained a normal tree crown shape. It still looks like a bad haircut will a divot, v-shape at the top. See photo. The flowering plum is growing perfectly well this new spring season. Their cost is competitive.
