    I ordered hughesnet satellite internet and the company sent these people out to install it. The day…read morethey were supposed to come out they had to reschedule because their technicians didn't show up to work. Then the next day one of the technicians showed up 2 hours late and seemed to be in a bad mood. I had a spot on the north end of the house with a wide open view of the sky where they point the dish to get a signal. Well the tech wanted to install it on the south end of the house where there was a bunch of trees. In his own words he said it would be easier because he wouldn't have to run as much cable, then proceeded to say that I needed to cut down 3 different trees before he would install it. When all he had to do is run an extra 50 feet of cable. He was obviously too lazy to do so and expected me to cut down all of my shade trees just so he didn't have to run extra cable. He then left without installing the system and when I called big boys toys to talk to the owner about it, and told him the guy was in a bad mood and didn't want to do any extra work and that he was lazy, he got all puffy saying that it was his son he sent out to do the installation. I told him there was a perfectly good spot on the other end of the house, but he told me if his son said it couldn't be done, than it couldn't be done. Also that if I had a problem with it to take my business elsewhere. Clearly the tech is a spoiled brat who daddy always takes care of a bails him out of trouble. He wouldn't even look at the pictures I sent him of the open sky where I wanted the dish installed. So I took my business elsewhere. I called a distributor from Beaumont and they came out that day and had no problems installing the dish and said nothing about trees being in the way. And the signal is great. So clearly the tech was an incompetent jerk who didn't want to go the extra mile for the customer, and for his dad, well the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Never will I allow someone to treat me like that. Especially when it's your job to install something for me that another company is paying you to do. I'm not mad though, they just can't get the job done. They have an " I can't " attitude and that sucks for them. So save yourself the hassle and use another distributor for your hughesnet satellite. Or any of their products for that matter.

The technician himself took everyone's internet offline, left, lines in the ground, saying he would have us back online in 30 minutes.... he left and never came back, only filling out a ticket for someone else to do his job. NEXT WEEK.... That's what happens when they hire someone who can't speak English and has no idea what the Super Bowl is. When I asked him, as he was in his bucket disconnecting our internet, "You know this is Superbowl Weekend, right?: he said, "What's the Super Bowl?!"

Reschedule date offered was 2 days out, requested to cancel, Optimum would not cancel service after 2 hours on the phone. Called again to cancel spent 2 hours being transferred to several agents. Believed it was canceled received calls from Optimum threatening will be charged for equipment and a month of service if I didn't let a Technician install service in 2 days. I advised I called another company same day Optimum was didn't show, company installed next day, now don't need Optimum service. Optimum threaten again to charge me month and equipment cost if I didn't allow the Technician to install. I responded don't send anyone, didn't want their service. Don't recommend Optimum, they don't deliver and threaten you when you don't accept their service.

    Service was at best intermittent. Spend literally 30 min to…read moreHOUR on the phone explaining to incompetent "service techs" that the problem was not with internal modem / router. NEVER would be a service technician "in the area", frankly I know your ex-service techs and they all quit your company because of apparent lack of business ethics optimum had with them and their clients. Upon finally getting fed up enough to disconnect optimum service, then I had to FIGHT my way through at least half a dozen other optimum reps, who's main goal in life was to try and talk me out of disconnecting service by offering me anything I wanted, who all were told I would NOT stay with your service even for FREE. I finally fought my way through the last of the "optimum warriors" and passed onto whomever... it was negotiated that I did NOT have to pay for a FINAL month of service because my cancelation was on the FIRST day of a billing cycle and because to make up "for all the hassle" and to make retribution for over 80% of the time I was with optimum I had NO SERVICE. Apparently this last person was doing NOTHING to notate any of that conversation and was bold face LYING to me about what she was capable of offering. 20+ days later I start to get text messages, emails and phone calls from optimum THREATENING to turn my "delinquent" account over to a collection agency!!?? Of course, as previously said, NO ONE in the company could find ANY record of ANY phone calls that I had been "dissatisfied" with ANY service I ever had with optimum. optimum, I am glad you guys sent this survey and I hope you read it, because I'm about to post it all over the web, google, yahoo, on your site, the BBB.... ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE I can to get the word out about the SHADDY, UNETHICAL, LYING THIEVES that the company optimum is.

In general, good comments and recognition tend to go by the wayside when a business owner or service provider goes above and beyond your requests or expectations. Mr. Farley not only performs to my expectations, but he also goes above them.
