I also like to come here because there are lots of parking, the tickets are reasonable and the theaters have been renovated with reupholstered recliners. Complete honesty, with the amount of upgraded theaters on island and the cost of this theater, I really thought Kapolei's original movie theater would not be here for much longer. However, I stand corrected. They upgraded their seats along with the rest of the theaters but still charge a lower price than their competitors. How incredible is that? If you're looking to watch a new movie or one of the classics and not pay arms and legs, check them out. They're still going. Not too shabby! Strange layout of the chairs with missing rows but nice that it's spread out except the last row so keep that in mind. Lots of space for wheelchairs in the back too. We usually go on Tuesday and take advantage of their $5 a person tickets. Of course after we buy popcorn and drinks the price is higher. Popcorn is not always freshly popped. Try to always buy tickets for theater with reclining seats. All about comfort. All the workers looked unhappy, not very helpful,seemed very uninterested in customers I only actually seen 2 ,we prepaid for our tickets and coyldve just walked into any theatre there was no one to check if we even bought anything,popcorn was so stale it tasted days old no salt was offered,mochi crunch was stale,soda tasted funny,I was sitting on my seat and in the middle of the movie a huge rate crawled on the wall...when the movie ended we came out and the two unhappy guys working were rough housing in the hallway never once ackonwleged us at all ...I will never ever come back to this place absolutely horrible oh yeah and while we were standing in line waiting forever one of the guys comes to the register waves at what we thought was us,and he goes oh no not you guys the guy behind you whaaat?! read more

The concessions are better but the prices still are high. The best movie deals on Tuesday nights are only $6/tocket. Some of the theatres have new reupholstered leather seats. Some theatres still have the old style non recliner seats . read more

This theater is nice and clean and the staff are all helpful. Can be a little slow at times for concessions, but always friendly. There is one theater out of the 16 (I think they total 16) that could use a deep cleaning or change of carpet or something, as it smells like mildew. Other than that, I love coming to this theater. We went to a Tuesday $7 movie and saw Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 at Pearlridge. Being a weekday, early afternoon no one was around. I had difficulty getting our seats on line and the female employee that sold us the tickets was super nice and helpful. All I needed to do was give her my phone number. No one had bought tickets for that showing so we had first dibs. By the time we entered there were two others sitting separately in the theater. *just so happened my seat looked super worn and icky. The seats on either side looked fine. The sound, temperature in there was just right, I'm glad the seats could recline. ***in fact it was perfect as both hubs and I caught some zzzs in there, shame on us. Thank goodness we didn't pay full price. The two men at the concession helped us with our reward which came as a surprise to us; a small popcorn, a drink and a choice from 3 types of boxed candy so I chose Snowcaps. read more

Well honestly, I didn't really get a chance to experience the vibe of the movie in the theaters. We came only for the after part. But from what I seen was NICE LARGE LOBBY AREA which was amazing because that's the kind of place you would want to host a RED CARPET event! I mean, the open foyer for guests to arrive and wait in line for entrance to the theaters OR their snacks is PERFECTLY SET UP! No ones in the way, and there is space outside & in! Then there's a corridor that kind of increases uphill. It's wide enough AND then you can go to the theaters on either side. WHICH is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for the Q & A, photo op, interviews & media. Also the guests all can see you up close and personal as they walk out. MAN THE IDWAS I HAVE TO MAKE THE EVENT SO FUN & EXCITING! You know it's little things like this that MAKES the event so MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE! You have to SEE THE POTENTIAL it has to appreciate what you CAN DO with the place! I SO WANT TO COORDINATE the NEXT HIFF. Not the sales or contacting and whatnot NO... I want to DESIGN and CREATE OR ORGANIZE the LOCATION. I could possibly do it on a low budget TOO! But who wants that when you HAVE SO MUCH HELP AND SUPPORT ON STAFF. The volunteers and the theater, they worked well to create a wonderful event. SO THANK YOU KAPOLEI THEATERS & HIFF for this location. But the downside of it is, they close super early! They were closed by the time the movie ended. So yeah... if they do close early, then YES this would be the perfect place to host events. I believe they had one for another movie last week and it was absolutely amazing!!! Movie magic? This was my first visit to this theatre in many, many years, and only my 2nd time in a theatre during the pandemic. I saw the sequel, Downton Abbey: A New Era, during the Memorial Day weekend. 1. Yes, there's parking. It wasn't crowded at all honestly. There was no trouble finding a space. 2. Yes, the theatre has been renovated (which aligns with all the other renovations Consolidated has been applying to their other older theatre locations......Pearlridge, Kahala, etc.). 3. Yes, one of the renovated items was the installation of reclined seating in the theatres. However, the seating format mirrors that of the old seating configuration; guests must enter from the left or right side of the aisle. Seating is NOT stadium format. Also, the footrest doesn't extend fully so it's not completely perpendicular to the back rest. It seems that if it extended its full length into the aisle, people could not pass easily to other seats in the rows. 4. Yes, the snack bar now offers "hot" items such as burgers, fries, etc. 5. Yes, do sign up for their "Extras" rewards program (if you haven't done so already). I hadn't used my rewards card since before the pandemic, and I was surprised to discover that I had enough points for a free drink and candy, as well as a price reduction for a large popcorn. Total bill = $2! BOTTOM LINE: Same building, different parts. I think its great this theatre was renovated though, it was severely overdue. read more

What started out as a terrible experience on Thursday evening trying to watch a movie (we ended up walking out 10 minutes into the film due to multiple screaming children) ended up being a great experience in the end. When we left the theater we were able to reschedule to the next day easily. Today when we came back we ran into the manager (Nikki) and explained how we had to leave the night before and we had thrown our soda away. She quickly replaced the soda and made us feel so much better about having to come back to see the movie. Great experience overall in the end and happy this is the theater we use. read more

Brought the kids for their $5 dollar movies special on Tuesdays, man Can't beat it. The place has been renovated, and I'm guessing just parts of it because When booking online for regular days there was an option for recliner seats or traditional. $10 or $8, Still beats the $15 dollars else where. Last week, I saw a little card in the open spot of our mailbox where the newspaper normally goes, and seeing it for every neighbor. I just thought it was from a realtor or for someone running for council for our community. Looking at it carefully, I was pleasantly surprised that it was for the older Kapolei theatre and it was updated. Loved seeing the bowl of saimin and nachos on one side and the coupon for free tub of popcorn with unlimited refills with a purchase of a soft drink. Then seeing the Dr Strange Multi-Verse commercial, went online and bought my tickets for this theater to check out the new digs, menu, and just because I knew it wouldn't be busy as the other two theaters in Kapolei. Got into a little disagreement with my sister about lunch on movie day but lucky for her it was good. After parking and walking into the theater to get our refreshments, my sister exclaimed, they updated their menu! They have nachos! Did you know they updated the menu!? Sisters!! We ended up with a Soft drink, strawberry icee, because that was the only flavor that was ready, tub of popcorn and the Cinerama mix. So the popcorn add-ons, or at least the Cinerama, was $4.50 which came with a little cup of furikaki and a choice of candy. Initially, I was going to get a bag of peanut m&m's but it was $5.50. And because I got the free tub of popcorn, I actually got my candy for cheaper by getting the popcorn mix. Which then made me think back as to why I never went back to grab the neighbors coupons because I know they're not going to use them. But would that be considered a federal offense, it wasn't in the mailbox but underneath where the newspaper goes, hmmm? Anyway, the little ramp up to the theaters to show our tickets is nice and bright, newly painted with these nice blue leather seating areas with black and white photos of old movie theaters from the 50s/60s. As we walked into our theater, it was small as we were at the top of the theater and had to walk down to our seats, middle of the theater. Had I known this, I would've selected seats in the back row. I made sure to get tickets for the theater with the recliners knowing that these would be the updated theater. These seats seem narrower than the two other theaters in Kapolei. Plenty of leg room for people to walk pass us if needed, but we caught the 2pm matinee knowing there would be very few people as kids are supposed to be in school. You still have to wear your mask, which I was more than happy to as I know the case counts are rising again. Luckily, there were less than 20 people watching the movie with us. Movie started and the picture was nice and clear, surround sound worked perfectly as it had me looking around for "that noise" when I realized it was part of the movie. And the sound wasn't super loud. Loud enough but very comfortable, unless my hearing is going out. Great return visit experience after all these years. Looking forward to watching the summer movies and having that nachos and saimin. read more

Quick service because the theater was empty. However, it was disappointing that they advertise all tickets are $10, but we were charged more for our tickets. Also, the concession prices were so different from those posted on the app. I understand that prices have gone up, but it ridiculous what they charge for a small bag of popcorn. Do not go there to watch lilo and stitch always technical difficulties mid movie and way too crowded. They make bomb kalua pork bowls though but other than that it's not worth it due to it being expensive. read more

The service was amazing and I was able to use my free admission ticket to see The Beekeeper in Auditorium #14, which is the reclining section and Auditoriums 9-16 are the 10.00 section and Auditoriums 1-8 is the 8.00 sections. So check the tickets prior to arriving. This is a updated review and I am very happy that renovations were completely done and on Tuesdays s are 5.00 and it is cheaper too! It's been a long time since I've been here. Grew up at these theaters and it's good to see it still here. The seats recline now and the outside a/c is good. The a/c in the theater we had was a little weak. We didn't get any food tonight as we just came from dinner so I can't vouch for that. Hopefully we can come back here for future movies. It is getting harder to find parking in this mall now. We had to park all the way by Macys to go to the movies. We bought our tickets online but when you get there just proceed to the ticket lady, don't bother with the machines on the side. BTW tickets are now $17.75 each. We got a large popcorn and large drink for $16.00. One of the butter machines was out of order and the floor was strewn with popcorn and trash. Kinda sad for how "new" this theater is. But alas hard to find enough workers. The theater experience was great overall, good sound system and seats. Tons of free parking. Newly renovated everything. Floors, counters, bathroom. The seats recline. Their menu isn't as big as the other theaters in the area like Kapolei commons and Olino but they do serve alcoholic beverages. They serve some spruced up hot dogs, musubis, popcorn and icees. They also had this awesome looking brownie Ala mode dish. They have a really pretty mural above the entrance to the theaters. it has some renovated parts but still had some of the old chairs and not recliners. if you are on the bigger side, i wouldn't recommended and would be careful choosing which theater to go to since not all are recliners. overall the food and service is still friendly and welcoming. read more

Saw 2 movies in 1 day! This theater is awesome. Tuesday after Christmas, super busy but really amazing. The staff was professional and friendly which made all the families and visitors all very patient and cool. Sure some of the smaller theaters 'look' older, but the seats were all clean and once the lights went all the way down it was really awesome. I was surprised at how good the popcorn was too. Another exciting UH Football game shown here on the big screen. Cost this time was only $8.50. Theatre was packed and loud! Met some new friends, and I love it when the game gets loud. Probably one of the best games watched since the Sugar Bowl days! If you don't feel like hanging out at a bar, or don't feel like paying to watch it at home, this is a great alternative. Plenty of parking. Plan to arrive at the theatre at least half hour before the game, this place fills up quickly. Unfortunately, there are commercials with watching the game, but it's quite alright with me. read more

I came to watch Fast X here since it was the only other theater that was still playing it. It actually cheered me up since my husband passed away a little over two months ago. I have been trying to keep myself busy and when my friends/coworkers ask me to hang out, I definitely make time but I also make time for my daughter. My friend told me this theater is super old but remodeled it recently. The front where concessions looks nice and clean. Restrooms are near the entrance/exit. Easy to find. However the actual theater looks run down,both the chairs being old school foldable seats. Kind of reminds me of growing up with the old school seats in a theater before they even had recliners. I got to try the keiki kids pack. The popcorn however did taste a little stale. Not a good thing. Overall, the theater is just okay and serves its purpose. I would go here if I couldn't find the movie that was playing near home. Just an okay experience but I had fun with my friends/coworkers. read more

This review is specifically for the manager tonight (02/19/23), I believe her name is Ipo. I had to ask around after my movie because I didn't see her at the concession stand. I really wanted to commend her again because her calming nature made my day. MAHALO for being an amazing manager and showing your employees the definition of customer service and making it right. I am not one to say or agree with the phrase "the customer is always right" because I know that's not always the case. However, tonight I had to say my piece after Ms. Sheree? Or Sherry? (sorry, part of her nametag was covered) was rude and unprofessional. #1: It was your mistake to fix because you misheard me when I asked for the ohana package at the ticket booth, not the combo. I would've gone to the food booth if I wanted the combo. #2: After i asked for a refund so i can be charged for the package that i wanted, you mocked a $2 savings for a package your business offers to its customers. Hmmm, says a lot about your understanding of a bargain ($2 or not). It wasn't about the bargain though Ms Sheree! Even your coworker at the booth acknowledged your actions were wrong and was happy I was able to speak to a manager. #3: A misunderstanding is understandable. That is an easy fix. But rudeness is not, that's an internal thing (personality). So again, THANK you Ms Ipo for showing true aloha and "making it right". A star for cheap movies on Sunday! ($5 matinee) YAY! Another star for reclining seats that weren't ripped. Unfortunately, the overall experience was as stale as the popcorn :( Firstly, they need better signage clearly distinguishing the food line from the ticket line when both services are behind the concession. We stood in line for a while only to be told we needed to go to the other side when we reached the front. I noticed the same thing happened to another family who was unknowingly standing in the food line but they were redirected to the ticket line. Secondly, after getting our snacks from the correct line, the popcorn was SUPER stale! I don't understand how this can be when we were going to the first showing of the day. Liiiiike is this last night's leftover popcorn? Literally tastes like when you take your leftover popcorn home and leave it out on the kitchen counter lol we ordered coke but it ran out of syrup, again I ask--how? The theater just opened for the day lol once I finally got my drink, the server didn't put the lid on properly so it spilled all over me when I took my first sip. Eeek! Im glad I'm wearing a dark colored shirt. To top it off, the theater was so hot when we got in. Took almostan hour into the movie to reach a comfortable temperature. I haven't been to this theater in such a long time. Had an employee club movie day to watch Star Wars, The Rise of Skywalker. There's a lot of parking, though we we did go before the theatre opened to the public.. Went in to secure our seats, and headed for the concession line. I did like they way it is set up. There are 2 lines and kind of like a cafeteria style where u order and they fill it as you go though to the end, grab your goodies and pay at a separate cashier. I thought it went pretty smoothly and I liked the setup better than other consolidated theatres. I forgot how many movie trailers they play before the actual movie.... I actually liked the movie, it wasn't as bad as I've heard. The main thing is that i didnt fall asleep this time lol and that's important. read more

Always my go-to movie theatre. Their prices are affordable and great combo meals for the family. Recline seating in my childhood movie theatre makes it both nostalgic and modern. Went on July 4 & I wouldn't suggest going on a holiday as staff looked tired and customer service was not great. read more
