Had a small grad party for my daughter on 8/2. Had the signature room. Pretty good size. Open, air condition was cold lol. Had a little trouble with the music but got help from the worker. Forgot their name but VERY helpful. Bathrooms were clean as well. Easy to find. Only thing, just need to bring your own soft tip darts for the dart board (that's if there is one in the room you choose) . It's byob and byof. Thank you Kapolei Karaoke! This was the second time we've had a get together there and in the same room. This was a whole better experience than the first time and I mean a 180 degrees turn around. The customer service is what made this a 5 Star experience for me, the room and equipment was ready when we got there. Only downside to this location is the amount of parking in front of the business. But there is parking across the street at the Kapolei shopping center. So you could drop your party and food off then park across the street. The restrooms were clean. What we also liked was that we were able to plan our get together on the website. So, plan ahead for both your party and Kapolei Karaoke to make it a 5 Star experience. I do highly recommend Kapolei Karaoke and Escape Room for your next party or get together. The OG spot for Karaoke in Kapolei. Located upstairs and accessible via elevator or stairs. Service is pretty laid back. Best way to reserve is online. Rates are reasonable. My fave room is the large private area with its own entrance, it's right before the main entrance of the business. No food or drinks available for purchase but you can bring your own. I did notice some paper goods available for purchase, pretty smart. Selecting songs is done on your phone. Pretty simple and straight forward search system. Sound system is on point. Their website says "call before you come" so I decided to call ahead but all calls went to voicemail. We decided to head in to see if it's available, and if not, we're gonna shoot for the next day. My group along with couple others and 1 person showed up waiting, peaking inside, trying all doors but nothing. Called the number on the door several times and nothing, every call went to voicemail once again. Then we find out owner is talking to the optometrist across the karaoke. Optometrist personnel tells a group to call the number on the door, the same number I have been calling all afternoon. And surprise! Owner picks up their call on the first try. I call again after they hang up to hopefully get a booking and calls went to voicemail again. At this point we just left. What kind of communication is this? You put contact information on your website, instagram, and your door and you nitpick which caller you're gonna answer? Communication in this business needs to improve drastically. We went to Kapolei Karaoke which is located on the 2nd Floor, which they have elevator and stairs to go up there. We went for my wife's retirement party with her co- workers and everyone did pot luck ( bring your own food to share) and you need to bring your own drinks and cups, plates, utensils and ice. You rent it by the hours and prices depends on the size of the room. Restrooms are located outside of the establishment which you need a code and is shared by all the tenants in the building. Watch where you park it needs to be on the mall side and there is a line which is faintly painted that you cannot park in the other stalls for the Texaco service station. You down load the app on your cell phone and input your songs from your cell phones. As your times is running out a notice comes on the screen 30 mins left start cleaning up and than 20 mins left clean up and than last song notice you need to leave as soon as the last song is done someone comes to check to make sure place is clean and get it ready for the next renters. Located on the 2nd floor of a small business area (across Safeway Kapolei). Decent parking options. Elevator or stairs (take the elevator if you're being good & drinks!). Greeted by doorman Kaui, super friendly guy. Various rooms of different sizes. We were in room 4 which held anywhere from 15-20 people max. 7 long seats, 2 round tables, small square table, a fold up table that has seen better days. BYOB & food allowed. East instructions to scan QR code from smart phones and send song requests to the system. You'll want to adjust the sound to play the music a bit louder in the background. They do have an AC which produces decently but when you have a good headcount? You're gonna need the big fan they provide. The one thing that got me? The floor! This rooms floor was so sticky! Regardless of what type of shoes you were wearing, we were all getting stuck as we walked! Ew. Need to use the bathroom? Get the code from the sign in the front, head thru a short hallway & there are men's and women's restrooms to use (different codes for each). Not sure which room is connected to the outside common lanai area, but they really don't monitor anything for that room from what I seen. Kids running down the hallway, people drinking outside & blocking the area. Either way, it was a decent place, close to home. I'd try it again with another room. read more

I've been to this karaoke room three times now! Once for a goodbye party, the second time to help my friend practice for a karaoke sing-off, and the third time for another farewell celebration. I had so much fun all three times, and I highly recommend it for large parties or even small private gatherings to take the edge off and enjoy singing your heart out with a group of friends. The place is located upstairs, but there's an elevator available for accessibility. You head to a room where you pay upfront for however many hours you want to reserve a karaoke room. Then you scan a QR code that gives you access to the karaoke app they use. It's honestly a pretty easy and cool system, no need to pass around a remote when everyone can control it from their phone. You can bring your own beer and potluck and have a great time! I've really truly enjoyed all three times I've been here. It would be my go-to spot to invite friends and family again if they ever wanted a private karaoke night! Just a heads-up: you'll need a password to use the bathroom. read more

The business is run down and dirty. The karaoke rooms are filthy and seats are all bus up. The guy who checked us in was extremely rude and had a bad attitude. The big party next door to us was smoking pakalolo and no one said anything. This is a rowdy unclassy joint where anything and everything goes. They don't care about anything as long as they get their money. The escape room is a total rip off. Who in their right mind is going pay $30.00 per person? They are not even registered as a legitimate business. When we were leaving, a fight was breaking out at the front desk area about payment. This place is bad news and only trouble. This review is purely based on trying to book a virtual reality (VR) room. I attempted to book online, but could not book more than three players per room. We have a group of four people. On their Instagram they have videos of three plus people playing their VR rooms at once. That being said, I was confused why two to three was the maximum allowed. Anyhow, I called to clarify this. First of all, the guy who picked up the phone was having another conversation when he picked up the phone. I say...Uh, hello? He just says, "Hello." ... Awkward. Thanks for introducing yourself and your business. Since I wasn't asked why I was calling, I explain the problem I was having. The man on the phone gives me a rushed, half-a response that didn't answer the question. He did not attempt to try to help me book different day or time. He did not attempted to assist or explain in any way, really. Zero stars for customer service and professionalism. Oh well. Their business missed on $140+ that we will now give to another Escape Game company this weekend. read more

My review is based on our visit for the escape room on 10/7/25. We made a reservation online for a 5:15 p.m. timeslot, as we had a prior commitment at 3:30 p.m. and was unsure if we would be able to make it in time for the 4 p.m. timeslot. Our prior commitment ended up being canceled so we decided to try and see if we could possibly transfer our timeslot to the earlier one. We headed over and was assisted by Rayne. He was so friendly and upon explaining our situation, he was VERY accommodating. He indicated that no one had booked the 4 p.m. timeslot, so he could easily take us in earlier. He asked that we just give him fifteen minutes or so to ensure the room was ready to go. It wasn't until a few minutes later, that I realized they weren't even open yet! They open at 4 p.m. and we had been there by 3:30 p.m. I felt terrible and apologized, but he just smiled and assured us it was not a problem. Many businesses have employees who are downright rude if you "bother" them before they open. But not Rayne. He never once made us feel that we were an inconvenience or troublesome. Once he was ready for us, he escorted us to the room and gave us the rundown. I thought it was great that they provide costumes if you choose to dress up! The gameplay itself was definitely fun and challenging. I liked that there were so many puzzles to solve. Rayne was a great Gamemaster in helping us with clues when we needed them. We managed to escape with only 14 seconds left. Whew! Our ohana has done many escape rooms and this one by far will be one of the most memorable primarily due to the above and beyond customer service we received from Rayne. sing along. I had my first time/visit at Kapolei Karaoke this past weekend. Our friend and hostess reserved a very large room for our group of 15 for 3 hours. NOTES 1. Parking is challenging (as noted in some past reviews). There are 30 minute, 3 hour, and tenant stalls in the immediate area of the shopping complex. Please pay close attention to the signage. Also, if you should or need to park in the area that is on the slope, please be aware that there is a division of parking for the neighboring property. Please be aware of the signage. 2. Kapolei Karaoke is located on the 2nd floor. 3. There are restrooms available, but are only accessible via a code (obtained at the front desk). 4. Our room was very large and accommodate our group comfortably. Aside from the karaoke equipment and flat screen, there were 4 small round tables, a larger table where we set up the food, and benches/seats positioned against the walls. There was also an A/C unit and large fan to keep cool. SING I would like to commend this business for their system/program to access their song catalog. I took a pic of the instructions also, they are: 1. Go to their site: kk-songs.com 2. Select QUEUE on the menu options (top of screen) 3. Enter "Control Code" located on your karaoke room screen; this is a 4 letter code all in CAPS, (i.e. ABCD). After you're completed the "sign-in" process, you're ready to sing! Guests are able to search songs via artist or song title. There are also functions to skip, delete, or move songs ahead in the queue. One does not really need to interact with the front desk at all. We ventured to the front desk twice during the time we were there; one to ask about turning up the A/C setting, and the other to ask if we could extend one more hour (which we were unable to do as there was another res after we were done). Overall, we had a great time! I also liked that the business provided a reminder (via the flat screen) that were only had 30 minutes remaining and to please start cleaning up. side NOTE Although the song catalog is extensive, with new and old songs, as well as older and current artists, I could not locate or find any songs by Coldplay or U2. I had enough liquid courage to sing "Sky Full of Stars" or "Yellow", but alas I was not able to do so. BOTTOM LINE A fun and positive first experience at Kapolei Karaoke! a weird experience. my friend was able to book the room, online for 12noon to 3pm, despite the business hours being listed as 4pm-2am. the morning of the booking, she received a mysterious text from a phone number, claiming that staff wouldn't be in until 2:30pm but were welcome to self check in. we were not provided with instructions for how to self check in at all. upon arrival, we were greeted with a man who gave us the run through of how to use the karaoke equipment. in short our interaction with this man was rushed, and he told us to call if we had any questions. we were placed in the largest room, which is nextdoor to the front desk area, despite being a party of 3 people. the karaoke room we were placed in is connected with the main hallway of the shopping center, meaning that anyone passing through can hear the music and the people singing inside the room. which was a fact that was not known to any of us until my friends boyfriend stepped out to the room to use the bathroom. there is zero sound proofing to the space at all. the room itself is dimly lit, haphazardly decorated and kind of beat up. part of the room is being used for storage of extra tables and chairs, as well as a water heater. there is also a very small area to play darts, that seemed kind of run down, or an area that customers shouldn't have access to. one of the microphones was dead and there was no staff around to assist us with changing the batteries or swapping the microphones. now on to the weird part: about halfway way through our time, a family poked their heads into our room. originally we had assumed that the karaoke room had been double booked, however the family told us that they were there to play the escape room at 1:45. however on arrival, it seemed like no one worked there at all. all the doors, except for the room, my friends and i were in, were locked and there was no one to answer the phone. the family did not receive a message about self check in and were left to stand outside for 30 minutes while my friends offered to get ahold of the mysterious number that had contacted her that morning. they were frustrated and confused, my friends and i did our best to help them, but we were left to fend for ourselves. we even told the family that he had no idea what was happening or how to ask for any assistance. there was also another woman who had come to inquire about renting out the room that my friends and i were using. but there was no staff available to assist her, leading her to enter our room, during the time we were renting it to see the facilities. all in all, an average karaoke experience. plenty of songs, not everything that we wanted to sing, but there was a request option. there was also no way to change the key of a song. however what really ruined the experience was the fact that there was no one on staff to assist any customers. for the 3 hour window that we were in the room, there was no staff checking in on us or at the front desk. read more

We booked the Signature Room at Kapolei Karaoke and Escape Room, expecting a premium experience, but it turned out to be far from it. First off, the dartboards (plural) they advertise is just a single, non-operational electronic board. They don't provide darts, so you have to bring your own and manually keep score. They do provide chalk and a cloth, but the chalk didn't even work on the provided scorecard--frustrating and pointless. The photo booth, which costs extra, is nothing more than a basic ring light with an iPad. After taking pictures, you're required to scan a QR code to access them. Was it worth it? Absolutely not. We ended up just using the ring light and taking photos with our phones instead. One of the biggest disappointments was the screen setup. Despite booking the largest room, it had the smallest TV--just a 32-inch screen. There was also a projector, but it wasn't your typical high-quality one. It projected onto the wall at a max size of about 60 inches, and the image was so blurry we couldn't even read the song queue properly. Cleanliness was another major issue. The floors were filthy, the light fixtures were covered in dust, and the floor panels were loose, creating a tripping hazard. To make things worse, the benches were unstable--I sat on two and nearly fell to the floor. As for the karaoke system, it was seriously lacking. It seemed like they were using low-quality YouTube rips of karaoke videos. The room had about four speakers, but one was blown, so turning up the volume only made it worse. The speakers sits on stands at the level of your head so it's hard to have a conversation, unlike other karaoke establishments where they are mounted on the wall and above your head. The wireless microphones had no echo effects, and you couldn't adjust the key of the songs, which was a huge letdown. Overall, this place has potential, but it needs serious improvements in terms of equipment, cleanliness, and overall customer experience. I'd consider giving it another try if they step up their game, but as it stands, I wouldn't recommend it. One last thing, the link here to their website is not even their current one. Both were very helpful and very customer friendly 100! Their vibe, knowledge and Aloha was AMAZING!!!! Night of event 2 and that's only because he said you're welcome AFTER I replied numerous times THANK YOU NO we had not been here before, NO we did not understand nor know how to utilize the system, NO we had no idea what and where the "remote" was (as the WALL notes indicates) so I had to go to the helpLESS desk for assistance! helpLESS I say because it took myself 3x and my husband once inquiring BEFORE helpLESS gentleman actually came in to the room. And he made all the grunt sounds, eye rolls, etc. while following thru with his condescending comments!! Like what the actual F!!!! We were a bother to him cause he had to get up off the chair to assist! COMPLETE total opposite service and experience from the other 2 I met I decided to STILL be the bigger person, continuously saying thank you, sorry to bother you, made and served him a plate for his service REGARDLESS the crappy NON service he gave! Then when my brother approached him about extending.... ooooh he serves a different vibe, like WT actual F!!! The ironic thing here, Sir my brother approached you to SAVE lives I had enough of the disrespect, lack of initiative and your IDGAF attitude! My family started coming up with their reasons to DEFEND your incompetence! EX: he's probably mad cause he's working the weekend, he's probably used to people acting a fool etc etc. Well if any of these and more are correct then my recommendation is.. get another job where you feel is more likable. PLEASE don't judge everyone that comes to your place of employment as the rest! It was our FIRST, we were celebrating a very special milestone. We have a system (real nice system too) at our home. Booked the VIP room (15-20 ppl) for my birthday on May 7th and so happy I did. It was a week day (Wed) so prices are cheaper than booking on the weekend. We did 4 hrs but asked to book 1 more hr before our time was up. Sis at the front was super cool and got that done for us. She was super chill and allowed us to enjoy ourselves. I might have hugged her 1 too many times lol. Anyway, the room we had was nice and spacious. U can bring your own food and booze which I like. So this was the first and last time I will be visiting this establishment. My bestie decided to throw her daughter a birthday party here based on the online pictures from their website. Let me just say that the photos must've been from when this place first opened because it looks nothing like the photos! The benches were badly torn and just completely falling apart. The walls had all sorts of stuff stuck to it where you can tell that people had hung things and it just had never been cleaned. The room smelled of garbage and stale alcohol. The floors were worn and sticky. This place was just a complete disaster! My friend booked the VIP room from 6pm-12am on a Sunday night...crazy I know! When we got there we had to wait while they got the previous party out so we didn't end up getting into the room until about 10 minutes after 6. When we got in the room it was clear that all had been done was emptying of the trash because the room smelled and the floor was sticky. The majority of the benches were badly ripped and it became apparent that the room would not be big enough to accommodate our party as there was a photo booth rental that would have taken up about 1/2 the room. We ended up having to be moved to the signature room, which was the room my friend initially wanted but was told it was unavailable. After about 20 minutes in the VIP room we were cleared to move to the Signature room. I have to mention that we had to ask for the room to be cleaned before we went in because there was trash left in the garbage cans and the room stank of stale alcohol and trash. Finally almost 6:45 and we are able to start decorating and setting up. After blowing up about 40 balloons we were told that there was a $100 fee fo reach balloon that popped. This was not posted on their website or told to us until after they saw all the balloons in the room. So we ended up having to gather up all the balloons and take them out to the trash. Being that we would be there for hours the tablet we were given to request songs died and we had to ask for another one. We were given one with a cracked screen. I wish I had taken better pictures of everything but I was really trying to make the best of the situation and enjoy myself so I didn't take many pictures. My friend ended up paying about $600 and was charged for an hour in the VIP room even though we weren't let in until at least 10 minutes after our designated time, due to no fault of our own. Also, we had to wait for them to clean the other room before we could move, also not our fault. My advice if you're thinking about coming here, save your money. read more

If you're thinking about hitting up Kapolei Karaoke for a fun night out, let me share some firsthand advice: DON'T. This used to be the go-to spot for good vibes and great tunes. But lately? Oh boy, this once vibrant spot has taken a nosedive in quality, all thanks to their seriously slipping standards and downright disrespectful staff. Let's talk about the bald guy at the front. He is the epitome of rudeness. I have crossed paths with him multiple times now, and each encounter has left me wondering why I bothered even picking this place. My first experience had already set the tone. We were winding down from a company party, trying to tidy up, when suddenly he comes in like the karaoke police, demanding that we get out now. THIS IS 2 MINUTES AFTER THE BOOKING WAS FINISHED. I told him that when booking for our company party, I spoke to two separate people who stated that we would have 15 minutes afterward for cleanup since we were in the signature room. He flat-out accused me of spinning tales about what was promised during booking, saying he has no idea where I read that and that I needed to get out so he could clean the room for the next people. I found out later that the policy on the website clearly states we have 15 minutes for cleanup. His dismissive attitude and condescending tone were so unnecessary. The next time we went, there was the absurd incident with a cooler. He wanted to make sure everyone was 21 before going in. Sure, it's understandable for them to check upon entry, but the interrogation that ensued was uncalled for. He fixated on one of our group members, a young-looking but perfectly legal 23-year-old, badgering us for a solid 10 minutes about how IF she wasn't 21, he wouldn't have let us in and that he would call the cops if he found out she was under 21. It was a complete waste of our time and a display of unnecessary aggression. But the last straw was the most absurd of all. We recently went in, and I made sure I was armed with knowledge of all their FAQ's, policies, and I made sure to read EVERYTHING when I booked. Yet, we were met with yet another obstacle: an age-related debacle. Despite their own stated policy allowing teenagers with responsible adults, he claimed any room with a teenager of 18-20 years old was not allowed to have alcohol??? He stated that it was in the policies when I booked... SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE, it clearly states that we must follow city and state law regarding alcohol, and I understand some people may let their kids drink but I am not one of those. He then proceeded to berate us for an unacceptable amount of time, repeatedly telling me that he will call the cops on me if he finds her drinking, before letting us in. Then, when my younger sister of thirteen came, he did the same thing, after clearly saying he doesn't let 18-20 years old, he pulled the same act with a 13-year-old, almost causing us to cancel our booking. This establishment's claim to family-friendliness is as shaky as their service standards. Being judged and berated for the past misdeeds of others is neither fair nor acceptable. As for alternatives, I would say give Blue Ribbon Karaoke or Central Karaoke in Wahiawa a whirl. Unless Kapolei Karaoke gets its act together - and fast - they're gonna be singing a sad tune of lost business. read more

Elena (worked on the weekend of August 23-24, 2025) was friendly, helpful, and made sure all our needs were met. She took extra care with our food and drinks before the karaoke room. Also when our room was delayed by 15 minutes, the establishment added that time to the end of our rental (so we got the full time). The song selection app was easy to use, allowing us to pre-load songs (great time-saver), turned our smartphones into the TV remotes and there is a tab to suggest artists/songs (if they dont have it). The only downside were some of the chairs in the karaoke room (some felt like sitting in buckets). Next time, I'll definitely opt for a bigger room, as we had six people in a standard one. Escape Room: We escaped Blackbeard's Brig (yay! 60%ers) and loved the puzzles and experience. Cant give away too much, so go check it out yourself. The only minor suggestion for improvement would be to add a bit more variety in puzzles and reduce the reliance on locks. Overall, it was a fun. I honestly should have listened to all the one star reviews with complaints because they were all true. Do yourself a favor and save your money. The rooms with BYOB and BYOF is not worth it here. I guarantee you will have a better time buying a karaoke mic set off Amazon and play YouTube karaoke in your living room for family and friends than pay to stay here. I booked the signature room for 4 hours. Private entrance on demand is a sham. You should really remove that from your website for false advertisement. They do not offer a private entrance. Per the bald gentleman in the front who assumed my party was a bunch of degenerates stated, "No. You have no private entrance or exit. I don't know who told you that because there is none. Nope. You know why? Because you guys gonna go out there and smoke and you gonna take the drinks outside you gonna drop and break the glass on the floor and guess who's going to have to clean all that up? ME. So no. You don't have a private entrance. Sorry." Okay. I don't appreciate the unprovoked hostility this receptionist has had since I arrived. And when I asked if it's possible to extend our time if we wanted to stay he said, "yes, but if anyone in your party is drunk then no. Can't do it. I'm kicking you guys out. K? You're welcome to extend, but if I see anyone in there all drunk and stuff you guys gotta leave. I'm shutting it down." You know, I wanted to be understanding since your house rules seemed very specific to the point where it was obviously made after real experiences, but I really didn't like being profiled as a ratchet, ghetto group of people that's going to trash your rooms. Especially after leaving and hearing your workers so surprised we actually cleaned up after ourselves at the end of our party on time. It's obvious you guys were expecting the worst. Being managed on a personal level is not professional. The one dartboard (not plural like on the website as another user stated) is old and jank. Don't expect it to keep score for you. It's honestly just there. You need to plug it in yourself before the start of your party and that's really only solely for the light. It doesn't work in any other way. Some of the benches weren't secured at the seat so if you sat near a corner the whole bottom bench would come up and off. The floors were indeed sticky and unsightly with all the edges of the floorboards lifted with major wear and tear. Maybe invest in some LifeProof flooring or just concrete for better clean. It didn't seem as though it was cleaned and prepped before arrival. And if it was, it wasn't a good job. Sounds weren't great. There were some drywall holes in some places. The curtains weren't even up on mounted rods. Just on a string covering the windows. Low-key trap house vibes in there. Idk. For $150/hr you'd think it would be clean and in safe working condition. Looks fine in the (one) picture online but if you're inside-don't look too closely. It was actually embarrassing having a party here. And if anyone has issues with the stairs make sure you have a backup plan to deal with it because the elevator just so happened to be out of order this night and we had to lug everything up and down two flights of stairs to the room. Overall, not worth the money. Not worth the experience. I wanted to give this place a chance and see for myself what it was like. Extremely disappointing. Did not like it. Would not recommend this place at all. This establishment experience was extremely poor and an incredible waste of over $600. Please stop treating your customers like adolescent criminals. Maybe hire a bouncer since you guys seem to have lingering issues with certain types of people you have coming in. Or maybe all you guys need is an on site manager to make sure things get done properly and professionally. I don't know. Hopefully you'll find the clientele you're in the market for. We obviously didn't fit the bill upon arrival and was treated as such. Best of luck to your business. We definitely won't be coming back. read more

I threw a going away to college party for my daughter and her hula sisters here almost four years ago. The place was clean and the staff friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone on the west side that doesn't want to drive all the way to town. read more

Great place to host birthday and family parties. You are allowed to BYOB and food. Decent song selection for everyone to sing along to. Parking can be a hit or miss depending on the time of day. Bathroom is within the building complex and a code was required. read more

super fun! my friends and i haven't gotten together in so long because we've been all over for college but we finally had the time to meet and catch up. we all love karaoke, and decided upon here. we got a standard room for two hours and they had literally everything we wanted to sing. including my fav pinoy ballads ugh i was soooo happy!!! the way you input songs is all through your phone so it was convenient and im pretty sure it saved us some time too because when you gotta search through song books and input numbers it always takes a hot minute haha. it was also enough room for the four of us to not only sit but jump around and whatnot too. it was definitely a vibe. staff was super kind and even offered to let us try out an escape room, which, we gladly accepted and had so much fun doing that as well. it's byoeverything but there's a texaco nearby so if you forget some snacks or drinks that's always an option. will definitely recommend to others and be back someday! read more
