I'm sure this cool antique store that has been in business for 35 years now isn't for everyone. But, if you enjoy high end miltary antiques, love war movies, collect war memorabilia, vintage clothing, need costumes, or enjoy Hollywood memorabilia, then this is the place for you to shop. The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable about the items in his store. Do not hesitate to ask him questions just because he allows you the freedom to browse uninterrupted. My husband was so excited to find a military antique shop. Even spending an hour in the shop wasn't long enough for him. We went back this past week to purchase a specific item he found during our first visit. Unfortunately, he had sold out but said he was fairly confident he could find in a few weeks. Just reinforces, if you love it, buy it when you see it. They are always looking to buy military items, vintage clothing, or your antiques. Mr. Constable is a humble and knoledgeable owner. He treated me with respect and I really appreciate it. Furthermore, this store has a very impressive and wide variety of war memoribilia that is all very rare and legitimate. I would 100% reccomend this store to anyone that likes war memorbilia or just old history in general. This store is great for its selection but it is made so much better by the owner. read more

Although this place may not appeal to everyone, it must certainly be a favorite of those who are looking for uniforms and costumes. I got a chance to chat with the owner who says that some of his pieces are used in plays, events, and even some museums in Chicago because of their condition. There are some antiques like gramophones and oil lamps, even some antique guns/rifles. But the mainstay of this place is the availability of clothing and hats that fit specific themes. Oh, and if this sort of thing interests you, I got a tip that they may only be around another few months before moving (and taking their collection) to Canada. This is a fascinating shop! While it has a variety of collectibles, it focuses mainly on military uniforms from all countries and eras and movie costumes and memorabilia. The owner used to work in costumes in Hollywood, and he has many items straight from studio collections and movie sets. We were in awe walking around the store! The owner is so kind and friendly, and he's happy to share anecdotes and pictures from his time in Hollywood.
