Soon After they installed composite wood siding to the front of our home, white dots appeared every few feet along each panel (see photo) where nails/caulk were placed. The workers were clean, courtesy and conscientious while performing their work. I have 2 things that stops me from giving the company a 5-star review. There was an issue with one of the workers damaging the lid of my toilet. I've talked to the company several times about having it fixed or replaced to no avail. The 2nd issue I have, the contractor never returned to the works site to see the finished product or to collect the final payment. Back up to 2020. We wanted to have 2 bathrooms and 1 kitchen remodeled. It was a complete gut job. We were so satisfied with other work done by CC that we didn't think twice about calling them again. They are perfectionists and I love that! My husband says I'm very picky but I just know what I want and we've been lucky enough to have Construction Concern understand that and deliver my vision. Due to Covid and immediate lockdowns, we went through a few stressful times, everything came to a standstill. My wife and I had purchased a small town home in Canton Country, Ca.. It was our first home. One face of our home faced the Sun essentially all day and the heat would radiate through our windows in to the house and linger through the evening This issue wasn't something we anticipated or realized would be an issue when we purchased the home. My wife and I would have to keep our shades drawn all day to try and mitigate the heat radiating in through the windows making it feel kinda gloomy. And we would have to run our AC in to the night witch anyone knows can be costly. One of my neighbors recommended Construction Concern saying that she replaced her existing windows in her unit with some sold and installed by Construction Concern. Coincidentally, a sales representative for this company had come by our house before my conversation with our neighbor and spoke to us about giving and estimate to replace our windows. To be clear, I hadn't given it much thought and disregarded the sales pitch(we had just purchased the home and were still trying to recoup from the cost of the purchase)...until a couple months had gone by and we started to realize how much heat was radiating in through the pre-existing windows. Mr. Herron himself came to our house and sat with us to answer our questions. He was very polite, informative and concise about answering our questions regarding what he recommend, what it would cost, when they would start, how long it would take for the installation, what our maintenance would consist of and what we would need to do should any warranty issues present themselves. Best of all, he wasn't pushy. We didn't need "pushy". Who wants pushy after you've just bought a home? This guy is legit. I'm reading some of the negative comments logged under this company. And I can tell you....this was definitely not our experience with Construction Concern. Could we have gone with another company and lower cost option? Of course we could have. There is always someone who will do a job cheaper. It's been my experience that when you go with cheap, you get cheap. Everything he spoke to us about was how it was delivered and what we got out of the purchase. Communication to and from was consistent and dependable. The job was started and finished on schedule. The installers worked efficiently, and were very professional. Their work area was tidy and they were very polite as well. The windows were worth every frickin penny. We could actually open our shades and blinds again and enjoy breakfast at our dinner table with the sunlight glaring in to the home. Our AC bill had gone down significantly (we didn't need to run it all day and in to the night anymore) We purchased dual pain, vacuum sealed, gas filled windows in white. I can't remember the model name off the top of my forgetful head. The science behind it is not something I'm privy to but it's my understanding that heat gets trapped between the glass in the gas......and it works. I was referred to Richard Herron of Construction Concern by the realtor who had helped me buy my house. I do not recommend Construction Concern. Here are the reasons: 1. Richard told me that he'd be starting the project in 2 weeks from the time I signed his contract. He did not start within two weeks. Rather, he only started the project after I began complaining how every time I'd ask when they'd be starting, I'd get back some canned response about them starting in 2-3 weeks. 2. Richard said he'd have the project done in 1.5 weeks. Another complete lie. He kept insisting that he was waiting on materials to arrive. That may or may not be true, but regardless, don't say you'll be done in 1.5 weeks if you know you need to order and wait on materials. That obviously affects the project timeline. To give some context, instead of taking 1.5 weeks, the project ran for approximately 6 weeks. That's an increase of 300% to the project timeline. 3. Richard said that the payment structure would be as follows: $1000 deposit, 40% due upon starting the project, the remaining balance due upon project completion. Another falsehood. Even as the project could not be considered finished since we were still waiting on materials to arrive, Richard began asking for the remaining balance (minus $1000, which he would so graciously allow me to pay once he finished everything). WTF? You give me some fake timeline and then start asking for your money despite you not being done, Richard? 4. Despite relaying my ire to Richard, he would only reply and phrase his statements as "I'm calling to clear up any confusion..." Confusion? Which confusion would that be? That I signed a contract with you at the end of March 2019, you were supposed to start by April 15th, and be done in 1.5 weeks, which would be approximately April 25th. The confusion that you advertise yourself as a contractor with decades of experience, but yet can't accurately estimate your timelines nor do you even factor delivery time of materials? Richard, in his old-timer charm, tries to sound like a sweet, honest guy, but really, he's a bag of sh*t. He charges top dollar, but doesn't provide quality service. He'll tell you about his 30+ years of experience to convince you that he's good at his job. Yeah, whatever, tell that to everyone else who's written a lousy Yelp review on his company. We don't even know how many other customers are out there that did not write a review who are regretful of having trusted Mr. "30 years of experience". Don't hire this company. read more

Their bid was competitive and the owner, Richard, did a very thorough job in presenting the product (Anlin Coronado series). During installation, the crew did an outstanding job. They were prompt, courteous, and highly efficient. Even though they worked fast, they were still very detail-oriented and all the windows were installed beautifully. They even helped us replace the exterior trim and painted them. One of my windows requires a latch replacement I've contacted the company, and spoke to: Karen, Angie and Wendy to no avail, no one returned my phone calls, nor are they interested to repair the broken latch on my window! We purchased a thirty year old condo recently that was in need of new windows. There were a total of eight windows and two sliding doors. We were a little surprised at the time-frame given (8 weeks) at the initial contract signing; but these were quality windows made in CA and we are VERY well-aware of labor issues that have become so pervasive in the current US workforce. Nevertheless, the windows came in early and the installation was professional, prompt, and friendly to boot! The two installers completed 98% of the job in one day and worked with our personal schedules to finish the project up the next day. I hired Richard at least 3 or 4 years ago. Still, I am not happy and feel taken advantage of by being lured to trust Richard then being overcharged. Within months of completing our remodel, the paint started to peel (one coat?). I called CC with a construction concern. Richard, the salesman and owner, did not return my calls, despite his daughters promising me that he would. Then, his daughters did not reply to my emails. Really? What? Why? We have since done other remodeling (not with CC!) and realized how much we paid CC for so little. Here's a breakdown: Note: We kept the original tub and tile around it as well as the toilet. WE PAID: $8000 SMALL APPROXIMATELY 6X8 FOOT BATHROOM So, this means (assuming a 15% contractor markup OR $1200) that each item must have cost something like the following to add up to $8000: 1. new tile $1000? 2. new granite countertop $1000? 3. new faucets $1000? 4. new basin $1000? 5. new paint on wall $ 400? 6. re-painted cabinets $ 400? 7. new mirrored medicine cabinet $1000? 8. new wooden wall cabinet $1000? DOES THIS SEEM RIGHT TO YOU? Keep in mind the size of the bathroom: SMALL approximately 6x8 foot bathroom In conclusion, I would not go with CC and Richard; his construction is of concern! UPDATE: I received a call from Richard today (8/21/15)! It did not go well. He threatened me with slander, so I edited my 7/31/15 review (and corrected some grammatical errors). UPDATE 2: 3/21/16 Received another call asking me to take down my review. Actually asking me what they can do so that I will take down my review. We hired Construction Concern to update our windows to more energy efficient ones. The price was reasonable and the meeting with Mr. Herron sold us. They did the windows in one day and it looked seamless.... Now a year later when it rained really hard one of the windows leaked. We called them and they came immediately and were so apologetic and fixed the window. Their customer service is top notch.
