We hired Shay for a home remodel and extension. It was a struggle the entire time through but we maintained respect and patience throughout the process. Shay always promised his integrity and said to have faith in him. We trusted him, even when he would rarely show up to the job site, even when his own workers would not have nice things to say about him, even when the workers he sent didn't even know him. There were things done so incorrectly after the project was "completed" but he kept his word and sent someone to fix them. Then when there was a larger issue, he kicked the can down the road over a year later. We remained patient and gave him the benefit of doubt because he said he wouldn't leave us high and dry. But sure enough, he's disappeared and stopped responding or communicating with us. Such a disheartening experience and complete disappointment. Makes us never want to do any construction again. All the nice pictures are deceiving because you don't know how functional things are or the quality of anything. I wouldn't recommend this company or contractor and would recommend to not trust any of the photos displayed as it is very misleading. read more

GRS did an outstanding job refurbishing and repainting the exterior my home. The house is pushing 40 years old and though the wood and stucco were in decent shape, the were in need of work to preserve and protect them from the elements. I met with Shay to discuss his services and though his price was not the lowest quoted, I found it fair and I was impressed with him. He is a licensed contractor and carries all the necessary insurance for his workers. He even offers a warranty on his work. Green Remodeling Solutions puts the T-R-U-S-T back in CONSTRUCTION! We hired Shay and his GRS team to patch and paint the interior of our home. He and his crew were punctual, meticulous, and pleasant. The work quality surpassed our expectations - they spent days sanding and patching, making sure everything was flawless before applying the paint. We selected specialty clay paint for our home, which Shay and his team researched and took on with gusto. (The clay paint had presented a problem for some previous painters, but Shay and his team are incredibly capable and, best of all, were very supportive of our decision to use an environmentally friendly paint option.) Shay and his team supervised the work closely and checked in throughout the painting process to make sure everything was completed to our satisfaction. This review is a bit late, but I feel it is necessary! We bought our first house and needed the laundry moved from in the house to the garage. We also wanted to have the old floor heater taken out. Green modeling solutions gave us the best package deal for both so we went with them. There were two employees who we were initially introduced to and throughout the entire time they were awesome. Here are my issues.... Initially I asked what times they could start the job so we could make sure someone was home. That question was ignored and never addressed until the first day when they showed up and said they would be there all day. We both had work and did not plan for this. We trusted him and his employees so we left the situation alone. The next day two different employees showed up, with no formal introductions or heads up from Green Remodeling Solutions. I have heard horrible stories, but again trusted the situation, as I felt my initial concern was ignored. Problems first came when one guys moved the washer and dryer by himself using a dolly. He was the only one available so he did his best to move them by himself. That is not only dangerous since they are so heavy, but this resulted in a couple big scratches on my new washer. Additionally he also scraped up all the newly epoxied garage floor by sliding the washer and dryer around instead of picking them up.... probably because he was by himself! After they were done my washer started leaking.... They came to check it out and of course it didn't leak then and now it leaks off and on, which is really annoying and never happened prior to the move. I figured since it was brand new I could just call the washer company, but they wanted to charge $200.00 for service, so I'm stuck figuring that out. Also, after relocating the washer and dryer we were left with no hot water for 12-15 hours! Unacceptable. That is not the worst part. MY FLOORS!!!! Initially I asked if after they removed the floor heater if they could use the flooring from our closet so they would match perfect. He said yes no problem. (See attached pictures). This is the first and second time they did it..... I just wish he would have told me they cannot do it and to find a professional who deals with wood floors..... My floor is uneven, the texture is different, and color is off since they sanded and stained them. On top of all of this we found nails, razor blades, screws, etc. all over our driveway and backyard. I also threw away their leftover lunches that they left lying around. Again not a big deal except we have a 6 month old puppy in the backyard and use our driveway daily. We had to check every time we came home so we didn't damage our tires and our puppy didn't have access to anything that might have injured her. This was very upsetting. All in all kind of a mess, but you get what you pay for. The workers were extremely nice, but we felt like they were being pushed to complete tasks they weren't capable of doing and rushed through the job to get to the next one. I know we weren't a big money job, but still felt a little shafted. I really wish the owner would have come and at least looked at the end result. Instead after I started sending him my concerns he was never to be seen again and asked the worker to pick up the last check..... Green Remodeling Solution owner sold us on high expectations, experienced and specialized staff, accountability, and quality of work along with a competitive price. In the end he came off as a used car salesman who sold us on false promises. He never returned to the job site to oversee his workers or the work being done. More importantly after the initial consultation he never made himself available to discuss our questions and concerns in person, during or after completion of the project. Very Disappointing! Overall 3 stars for the workers who did the best job they could for the amount of time and their expertise. read more

I had been looking for months for a trustworthy contractor to redo the floors in my mom's apartment - she had old carpet that badly needed to be replaced with some kind of laminate wood instead. Shay and Barb were amazing in helping us make an appointment for a quote, and get a contract via email. Shay and Barb always delivered what they promised quickly without any issues. The contractors arrived on the day they said they would, at the right time, and completed my mom's studio apartment the same day. The floors look AMAZING - what a huge difference! Not to mention they also moved the furniture for my mom at no extra charge, and put it back when they were done. The price was extremely competitive as well - the best deal I was able to find in LA, and that included a quote from Empire (I do not recommend Empire at all! Their contract has a ton of fine print and the salesman was pushy) I will be using them for any additional construction needs, as they have proved to be reliable!
