    Southern Equipment

Bought a Kabota tractor from Southern Equipment Co. In Andalusia, Alabama. With drive over deck…read morequick latch bucket loader. For which I traded in my previous tractor.....BIG MISTAKE. Had problems from the beginning, but the dealership seemed to to be making an attempt to do their best. Gave them the benefit of the doubt for almost a week. My farm was falling apart without a working tractor and the dealer brought out the tractor three or four times, but each time there was a different problem. They took it back to the shop each time and thought they had it fixed, but still could not demo the drive over deck mower. Told them I needed my tractor more than I needed the drive over deck Since they already had my trade-in and my farm was falling apart. So I told them to just bring me a quick latch bucket loader tractor and and a regular old style deck. This was almost an $800.00 retail difference in value, not to mention all the inconvenience of having to get under the tractor and hook up the PTO. I had to fight tooth and nail to get them to make the adjustment on the price. They didn't think they should have or refund the the difference for a lower level piece of equipment, and even their employees didn't know about the product they were selling. One of there employees actually told me that "I had read more about the new equipment than he did as he had to learn about it on the job. NO factory ever showed them how the product worked and they had never watched the on line videos". They were trying to sell me equipment they couldn't even operate. Finally they found a suitable replacement and owed me money they held the tract hostage pending my signing documents I could not open on their website. As long as they make their sale how inconvenient it is for the customer. They obviously don't the equipment they are selling as they cannot demo it. Product is good, dealership is extremely questionable. Trade at your own risk.

I needed a starter solenoid for my zero turn mower. I wanted an OEM solenoid. My mower is old but…read moreI have kept it well maintained. Since my mower is old, finding parts can be very difficult, especially OEM parts. I did numerous searches on line and came across Safford. Safford showed just what I was looking for, or so I thought. Due to the age of my mower, the new solenoids are designed slightly different which I was aware of. Two of the electrical connections are different and require an adapter, which once again I knew. Safford had a picture of the solenoid I wanted with the adapters attached. I thought I was in good shape....until the solenoid arrived! The solenoid was missing the two adapters which are small spade quick disconnects. Looking at them you would think it's no big deal. You would be wrong. I live in the Louiville KY suburbs, a fairly big city. NOBODY stocks these adapters. I checked hardware stores, several different auto parts stores, and even Tractor Supply. One auto parts store offered to order them, but they would have been $4 each and he wasn't sure how long it would take to get them. So unfortunately I had to turn once again to Mr.Bezos and Amazon. Being Amazon, I had to order 50 while only needing two, but they are supposed to be delivered tomorrow. So basically the solenoid cost me another $10.

She gave a spill of only having 2 mechanics and one of which is not very good. I most definitely will not be bringing in ANY of my equipment. No need to contact me now, I have hired someone else to come to my property and service this. Thanks for heads up on Shitty service Dept. though. The kits were only 9 O-rings and plastic spacers. I got screwed for not shopping for something I had no part number for. After paying an extraordinary amount for some rubber and plastic and now having the part number, I found the same kit for $12.99 to as much as $34.99. At the very least, Parish Tractor got me for $500.00. The money is one issue. I was told that those other kits were not up to Kubota's standards. What standards? I rebuilt my cylinders and the tractor would not hold pressure or even lift a brick. Returned to the store and explained my problem, was given the breakdown of the seal placements. Removed the cylinders and noted that I had done everything correctly. Being an aircraft mechanic all my life, I started troubleshooting the issue. Turns out that those so-called Kubota standards were and are not any type of standard at all. Apparently, Kubota has no quality control as well. I found that one of the brand-new O-rings was 0.014" smaller in thickness than the original one. Knowing that I could never convince Parish tractor that the issue is with their parts and they sell crap for parts, I took it upon myself to fix the incorrect tolerance of the (Kubota) part. Not going to give away my fix because Parish tractor deserves all the negativity they can get and to keep ripping people off for their extensively overpriced low quality parts. [Summery] I will not step foot into that store again or spend another dime on their junk.
