I have been using Consuelo as my couturier for over ten years. She has made many special dresses over the years. It started with my daughter's prom dress and most recently she designed and made the most beautiful dresses for my daughter's wedding - including her bridal shower and rehearsal dinner dresses. She also significantly altered a designer wedding dress my daughter had purchased, and she wanted various changes to the back and general fit. When she was done with the alterations, the dress was a dream! Everyone asked where all the dresses were from because they were so gorgeous! She also made the dress for the flower girl, which was precious. Her skills as a couturier are outstanding. She is the very best in her industry. She can make your vision a reality. I'm beyond happy and so blessed to have found Consuelo Celemin on Yelp!!! As a bride who found her wedding dress (last of it's kind @ David's Bridal!) on Halloween weekend with a wedding on Valentine's Day weekend, I was in quick need of a kind, patient, understanding and crafty seamstress who had experience working with specialty fabrics and wedding dresses and limited time for fittings and fixing. After visiting two other seamstresses with my heavy dress and huge underskirt, she was extremely sweet and very welcoming. She helped me slip into the entire outfit, gave me very great and honest feedback as to how she would tailor the dress to my figure and emphasize the parts of the dress I adored (the pleats! the train! and insanely epic bustling!). After already getting other quotes, I was in pins and needles as to her quote, but she was extremely reasonable, fair, and didn't put added pressure or charge extra because she'd be working on my dress in 2 months. I believe she's very talented, experienced, and she added extra comfort by saying that it wasn't necessary to have so many fittings prior to the wedding. She took my measurements, we set 2 added fittings before I finally took my dress with me the week of my wedding. She ALSO offered great ideas to improve my underskirt to give my dress it's full impressive shape for the ceremony, and even how to bustle the underskirt with the train/dress so that everything still had a full shape for the party. She was also extremely careful with all the intricate beading and pleats my dress came with, and was able to magically trim off almost 5 inches from my waist without disfiguring the pattern on the corset or the skirt. I cannot express how thoughtful, professional and reasonably priced Consuelo was... and the excellent care she took with my dress! I imagine she does the same with everyone's gowns, and it's truly, remarkably appreciated. Of all my wedding vendors, Consuelo was my favorite to work with and the absolute best! Consuelo did an amazing job altering my two wedding dresses, the ceremony dress and the reception dress. The ceremony dress was much too big so she had to take it in and the reception dress was much too small so she had to let it out. She changed both zippers to a corset type back, which worked perfectly. She also bustled the reception dress and added a much-needed flower to the front. She also designs and makes wedding dresses - I saw a lot of her designs at her studio and they are incredibly beautiful. Prices are also very reasonable. I'm thrilled that I found her. read more

I came to Consuelo with a bridesmaid dress that was ordered a size too small and there was about an inch and a half gap on the back where it would not zip. She did a lovely job adding paneling to the side and blending it with the style of the dress so that it was not noticeable at all. The dress fit perfectly and did not stand out from any of the other bridesmaids. I would come back with any future alterations! read more

Consuelo did an absolutely amazing job on my wedding dress! I'm so excited. I bought the dress in Chicago, and didn't have someone in Miami I knew to make alterations. Admittedly it wasn't easy to figure out based on Yelp which alteration places would alter wedding dresses (and wedding dresses that weren't bought at their store). Looking at others photos from Consuelo, and reading the reviews helped. I'm so glad I chose her, and so am paying it forward with this review. Amazing!!! she did an amazing job with my pink gown that I wore to my friends wedding. I could tell the material was hard to work with and Consuelo was able to adjust it to a T. Alot of my friends said "wow, that dress fits you perfectly" Lol, thanks Consuelo. She truly has gifted hands, I ve worked with her a few times now and every time I've been blown away. I had a terrible experience with my bridesmaids dresses. Not only were they poorly made, she charged us $350 for them. Her measurements were completely off, every time my bridesmaids would go in for a fitting, it would be rather way too big or way too small. She would blame the sizing on something we did, like gain a whole dress size (overnight) or loose way to much weight (between 2-3 days) What is worse, my 13 year old cousin went in for last minute alterations because there was a giant hole in her skirt and it was way too tight. This was how Consuelo let her take the skirt home! Luckily my aunt made her try the skirt on and they rushed back for her to fix it. And she had the nerve to tell my little cousin she had gained weight in a span of 4 days, but she had told her she was losing weight the week before. Her cuts were way off. But the absolute worst thing was...she was making a top for my sister and an outfit for me to wear to my rehearsal dinner. We had ordered this months before from her. I was having a destination wedding in key west, so we needed everything to be ready by that Thursday because we were driving up. Well..I missed all my l Walk throughs and meetings with my vendors that day because we were waiting 5 hours in front of her building waiting for her to "finish" sewing. I arrived in key west at night. But the next day when we went to wear our new outfits, my pants didn't even go up my calves. ANd my sisters literally fell apart. It was being held together with one stitch. We had to safety pin her into her top. We ended up paying her $250 each for these outfits and it was beyond disappointing! When we called her to tell her, she blamed it on us again. She told my sister it was her fault because she was too rough with the top and that i had gained weight on my calves ...on my calves!!!! Never did she take the blame for measuring and cutting wrong, or delivering a sub par product which she charged top dollar for. Over all, I will never, ever use her again. I have worked with a lot of seamstresses around Miami and this was the worst experience. Sorry for the novel! Just wanted to explain my story. NEVER AGAIN! read more

So happy I found Consuelo right in my neighborhood. I bought a formal dress for a wedding online and though I really loved it, it fit a little weird in some places. I was weary about how much it was going to cost to find someone to make it fit right. Consuelo found a way to make it fit like a glove. She did it quickly and at such a reasonable price! I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Consuelo Celemin Couture. I have used Consuelo a couple of times for different projects. The quality of her work and customer service has deteriorated with each project. She does not take responsibility for her work or respect her clients' wishes or payments. I highly discourage using her for any project. My latest project began in 2016 when I paid up front (as per her policy) for a couple of custom made garments. I did not hear any updates or reports from her for nearly 6 months, even after calling and texting her. She finally called and told me that she was going to be away until the last week of March in 2017. She did not call me at the end of March. I called her. We set up a time for me to collect the garments. When I arrived, she was with another client and completely surprised that I was there because she had forgotten about the appointment. She finally delivered the garments a couple weeks after and they were poorly made. She did not respond in a timely manner to my messages that had photos of the torn seams. When I asked if she wanted to make an appointment to fix the sleeves, she did not respond. I asked her to send my final garment that she had taken in and not returned in the mail. She refused to send it and began texting and calling me, making excuses and insisting that I had not paid for her services. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to report her poor customer service. She took payment for work she did not do and deliver for 6 months, regularly forgets appointments, does not return texts or phone calls about her work during business hours, and is generally disorganized. I do not recommend using her unless you would like to waste time, energy, and money. read more

I can't tell you how her dresses fit as I didn't use her which is why the 4 stars instead of five but if you look at the photos they are amazing. I can tell you this, I called her on Friday asking how long she needed to make a dress when she said a week to two I was crushed. I had less than a week for a black tie wedding and was desperate to find a dress as I had not been able to find anything that fit right as I'm in between sizes. I was about to hang up and she asked me when my event was and I told her the short time frame and she told me to come in the next day and said she would have the dress ready by that date. Consuelo Celemin designed and created my wedding dress! It was the most amazing dress I have ever seen! I strongly recommended her!!!!

I was my sister's Maid of Honor in her wedding this summer and came to Consuelo for alterations to my dress. It was a floor length, chiffon - very well made dress. Although Consuelo was very nice, she did not do a good job on my dress at all. I needed a little more room in the hips and the hem shortened and requested that the waist remain the same. When I came to pick up the dress, the hem was not finished and the panels that were added to the hip region were messy and incomplete. Rather than allowing the panel to gradually flow down with the dress, she made them very short - creating an almost "hip flap" effect -- difficult to do in an A-line dress. The sewing was also quite messy and the panel itself did not match the color of the dress. After the hefty $100 fee, I had to take it to another tailor last minute to have the alterations improved. I will never be returning and I want other patrons to be very weary of Consuelo Celemin's work. read more
