Very good quality work. I took a pair of vintage shoes here to replace the rubber heel. It was $23 to replace the souls of my shoes. I think it is a bit expensive but I tried a shoe repair on Alton Road that was going to charge me $30! The cost of work seems super high these days. Terrible customer service. Went today and was never greeted or acknowledged by any of the ladies working there. i could see if the line was long but it wasn't. They were very disorganized and confused. After waiting a really long time being ignored, I just left. It's a shame because it used to be a good place. Don't waste your time. read more

Talented seamstress who is caring, , honest, and does beautiful work. I didn't realize that I left my umbrella when I dropped off two dresses for alterations and was pleasantly surprised that they saved it for me. She also made me try on the dresses before leaving to make sure they were perfect (which they were!). You get what you pay for so she's a little pricey but well worth it. It all started with Dorita years ago & then she retired & was bought out by a fabulous group of tailors & seamstresses . I must apologize for this delayed review because I don't know what has taken me so long to give a true report on this exquisite and professional group of Tailors!!! Probably on some level because I didn't want to share their expertise with anyone else so I get first dibs on their service!! But I am quite sure there is no one who brings more clothing than myself as I am talking 10 to 20 pieces every month for a few years now!! So when I tell you they work miracles with reconstructing my suits, blazers, pants, shirts, beading on handbags & jackets, blouses, dresses, even T-shirts and workout gear... no one can give you a better account. I am certain of that. From Zara to J. Crew to Dolce&Gabbana, Gucci, Michael Kors collection and everything in between... all I can say is WOW!! Buen trabajo!!! HORRIBLE JOB, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! This place is way overly priced and they don't even know how to sew. Don't waste your money and time. I paid $40.00 to shorten a simple straight cut dress. When I picked it up, I noticed their CC machine is all in Spanish and the price was higher.. NO ONE speaks any English and I got so frustrated because I had to leave to get ready for the airport, so I just paid and left. Tried on the dress when I got home and it was so poorly hemmed. I called as soon as I tried on the dress and of course no one speaks English. I asked them for a refund because I was leaving town and I need the dress for an event this weekend and now I have to pay to get it rehemmed again, BUT she would not refund me and said there is nothing she can do. I was visiting Miami and needed some pants altered while on vacation. Not only did she squeeze me in last minute, she got it done within 2 hours. The best seamstress in Miami! I wish I lived there so I could take all my things here! Everything fit perfect the hem came to the perfect length of my heels then my waist was snatched & PERFECT. My girlfriend and i were in Miami for a Wedding this past holiday weekend. On Friday, she took her dress out to steam it, and noticed that the tailor never tailored her dress properly and couldn't be worn. We reached out to Enzibaka because it was close to the hotel, they said bring it over. They were as shocked as we were at how botched the prior attempt had been but said if we could leave it until 430pm, they could fiX it. My items were delayed one week without a call or an apology. The staff is cold and dismissive. I felt a bit like last weeks garbage. It doesn't seem to me that they value their customers very much. Or maybe the ladies there are just unhappy. I would never go back. There are more gracious, caring, and considerate alteration places in town. The professionalism level is below par. read more

I have been going to Star Alterations for years! Today I had the worst experience and will not go back. I went into Star Alteration two weeks ago to have four pairs of brand new dress pants altered to have the waist taken in on each pair at a cost of $85.00 plus tip. The owner (an older gray haired woman) marked up each of the pants. A week later I went to pick them up. As I wore them, one of the pairs split in the seat. The work that was done did not hold. I took them back and showed her that the work that was done did not hold. She immediately became argumentative and stated that we did not do this work. I said that they did, she marked the pants and collected the money up front. She took the pants and stated to come later or another day to get them. Today, I went to pick them up and they were not ready. She found the pants on the rack and threw them on her sewing machine. Then when she was done, she literally threw the pants at me and yelled saying this time no charge because we did not do these pants. I said again that they did. I so happen to have on one of the other four pairs they did and turned around and said you did these pants too and look at the split in them too! She said we didn't do those either. I said it didn't matter because I wouldn't ask for her to repair them even if I did have to pay and I will never come back. You have lost a customer. Save your self the agrivation...the workmanship is poor quality, there is no customer service and the owner is mean, crabby and unpleasant. read more
