I bought a pair of pants online about a month ago. Of course, this in itself is an anomaly as I rarely wear them, opting instead for dresses, skirts, and even shorts! I finally chose to wear them for the first time yesterday, and of course, the fates were against me and somehow after an impromptu trip to Trader Joe's, I saw a rip at the bottom of my pants as I was at a restaurant slowly and surely waiting for some pho. I wanted to cry. Do you know how hard it is to find pants I actually like? I have no idea how it happened, but my guess is the rain and the heels just didn't help. Needless to say, as I slurped mightily on some pho, I Googled, I Yelped, I searched like a madwoman. These pants were going to be saved! I found Frank's, and well, I decided to go the very next day. Effectively, going in, it's like going into a shop full of random knickknacks, unsure where to even start. I said my good morning as no one was up front and immediately I was heard and attended by Frank, whom I later found out is the descendent of the original. Apparently this business has been around for nearly fifty years! Again, how did I not know about this place especially given the proximity to my aunt's house? That said, I showed and explained what happened. He was very sympathetic, took my pants, and within five minutes, voilà! Good as new. You could hardly tell. I had to search long and hard to find the stitch. Given it was such a minor thing, he didn't even charge me. I was legitimately flabbergasted. You don't find this type of kindness or work every day. I had been on the hunt for a new seamstress/tailor for the past few years, and well, needless to say, they have a new customer in me. I'm going to search around (as I'm sure I have clothes lying around needing repair) and give them all my business. They do simple alterations all the way to complicated things like wedding dresses and suits.

Both experiences were solid! We came in without an appointment and were seen right away. The owner worked quickly to measure the pants and said we could pick them up that same week. Everything turned out solid and the price is fair for simple alterations. It's located on the bottom floor of a stripmall on Red Road. Parking has been easy to find right in front!

Yo se que las señoras que están ahi son para vender y que probablemente ganen comisión. Pero si tu único objetivo es vender no trabajes en un lugar para vestidos de novia. Al principio fui clara, les dije lo que quería; vestido sencillo, sin textura, corte A para la falda, tiene que tener tiras y cual era mi presupuesto ( máximo 500 a 800 dólares ) Lo primero que me mostraron fue un vestido princesa con todo los detalles del mundo. Pensé que era una broma hasta que la señora me dijo que me lo probara. Es que de verdad no tengo palabras. Cuando me estaba cambiando literalmente me dejaron la cortina medio ABIERTA. De mas que la señora me dijo entro sin decirme nada y yo estaba medio desnuda. También me agarro los pechos para "acomodármelos" sin ni preguntar si me podía tocar. Cuando por fin les dijo que medio me gusto un vestido pero no lo quiero de princesa si no con corte A, la señora me dijo que a los vestidos no se les podían hacer alteraciones si no eran comprados. Lo cual le dije que esa era mi intension desde el principio, comprarlo. (Yo se que los vestidos de novia son caros, pero tengo entendido que entre entre menos detalles mas barato ) Al final la señora me dio el precio del vestido que medio me gusto con las alteraciones con un costó por mas del doble del precio de mi presupuesto. He leído muchos reviews buenos del lugar, por eso fui. Pero nunca pensé que saldría llorando y con medio trauma. Otra ves, esa fue mi experiencia personal. Espero que a nadie le pase lo que a mi me paso y que si tenga una experiencia mas bonita. Y solo un consejo a las mujeres que vallan a probarse vestidos, vallan acompañadas, para que nada malo pase.

Finally, I found the one I love but in size 18...when I needed size 6! I also wanted to take out some of the laces that was on the dress. Paula did amazing work alternating and the dress came out just the way I wanted in 2 short weeks with an extremely reasonable price. I absolutely loved my dress and I couldn't thank her enough :)

The customer service we great and that is hard to find in Miami! When I got there I expressed I was the person over the phone and they immediately pulled out a million different reds They had from high end to low but the low was still exceptional quality. I'm writing to share my experience with Rex Fabrics. This is the first google review I have ever…read moreposted. I am so profoundly disturbed by my experience there I had to take the time to share it with others who might be thinking of shopping there or using their dress making services. DON'T!!! Our experience was quite appalling. My daughter is getting married and we went to Rex to purchase fabric for my Mother of the Bride dress. During the fabric selection process, the salesperson explained they also make dresses and would give a discount on the fabric if you have them make your dress. When starting the process they explained we would first come for measurements, the second fitting was to try on the "shell fabric" that would be a mockup of the dress. That is the first moment we should have been concerned. We spent considerable time explaining to them the shell did not fall correctly and the seamstress clearly was struggling to figure out how to make it work. We had to offer our own suggestions and offer modifications. The owner Jenny was supervising every meeting and completely emotionally withdrawn from the situation offering no solutions or recommendations. She did not care whatsoever that we would ultimately get the dress of our dreams. She is cold and all business. The next fitting was with the actual dress and then we knew we were in trouble. It did not resemble anything like the model we shared. It looked awful and they basically told us, take it or leave it. They said we used up our three fittings and they insisted they made the dress exactly as shown. IT WAS NOTHING LIKE THE MODEL. It looked terrible and my daughter explained that I only have one daughter and how important this dress was for the wedding. They did not care. It was obviously a pure business transaction for them. They have no business offering these services as they do not have the qualified seamstresses on staff or supervision. I decided I was not going to even fight for another fitting because I had zero confidence the seamstress knew what she was doing. Long story short, we took it to someone we have come to meet who is a highly experienced dress maker and immediately she explained they completely cut the dress incorrectly. The new seamstress said, what is done is done but I will still make it beautiful and she proceeded to make modifications. We picked up the dress yesterday and it is stunning!! I am so happy this new person created a beautiful dress I will be proud and thrilled to wear at my daughter's wedding....but it also cost me more money to achieve the result Rex should have done in the first place. In closing I truly want to warn others who might be considering working with Rex for dress making services.
