I've had a few good experiences here. I also had correspondence with staff prior to arrival and had an appointment. The Consulate is located on the 30th floor of an office building . The elevators are quite amazing and efficient- you punch your floor in first and the pad tells you which elevator to go up . I was very impressed Parking deck located next door if you drive into the city which is super convenient. Once you arrive - it's obvious of the entrance of the consulate . It's kinda old and needs major updating You are greeted by a security guard and it seems that he only lets people in who have an appointment but Don't quote me lol . I then waited to speak to someone at the check in window ... There is a Waiting area in which you wait to be called to one of several windows depending on why you are there. It helped me- making an appointment and speaking to someone if you have trouble navigating the website . This last visit - I expected to be there long but was out within an hour. Awesome I will probably have to return and hopefully my visits will be as easy as this one

What an experience at the NYC office. I was there to renew the passport with my daughter. I asked to see someone of importance to speak to about a problem while my daughter did her passport. Two people came out with very bad attitudes. They were telling me to send and email with my concerns. To which it I told them that that is my concern. You (the consulate in NYC) is not replying to the emails or calling back. At this point the younger of the two stared with the name calling to the point that he told my daughter that your father and you should go and f###k your selfs. These is not what is spain is all about. I guess they are hiring convicts or such.

Since they have chosen to utilize BLS contracting for their Visa applications, it has gone down to sh1ts. A simple process has turned into days and missed visits to Spain. They suggest 3 months prior but give you the Visa for the month you applied during the visit and not 3 months ahead. They charge 119 and no other options offered. Rude, inconsiderate, inconsistent information, they are outdated and every person that had issues was the same. They send you to the consulate and the consulate back to them and they won't budge.

    Service fee?? SMS fee? Really?!???

No need. But you shouldn't rely on Yelp for things like that. I'd visit the embassy webpage if I were you. You don't know me...why take the advise of a complete stranger?

The male representative who answered was shockingly rude. When I asked for guidance, his exact words were: "I've never had anyone ask me that question in 12 years." When I requested a follow-up after he consulted someone, he bluntly said he had no time to waste on it. I asked for his name, and he refused to provide it. Hoping for better assistance, I contacted the Croatian Embassy in Washington, D.C. A female representative answered and informed me that I could only vote in presidential elections, not local ones, from abroad. When I politely asked for her name for reference, she responded by yelling at me: "Why are you asking me for my name?! What is your name?"--in a completely unprofessional tone. I've never encountered such a lack of professionalism and courtesy, especially from representatives of a national embassy. These positions should be held by individuals who are trained to assist citizens with respect and competence. Shame on you, Croatia, for allowing such poor representation abroad.

Yelp Review 2026 #25:…read more The nearest Philippine Consulate General office to where I live is in Los Angeles. But I was in New York and had to take care of some documents so, I figured, I might as well make an appointment and do it here. I followed everything listed on their website and made sure I had everything with me to take to my appointment. They're located near Times Square. I arrived 30 minutes early and they had just opened. People were already waiting in line and I thought I picked the earliest appointment available. There were chairs but not enough. They asked me what I was there for and was directed to go to the basement. I gave them my documents and I was told I was missing a document. Like how? Why didn't you list it on your website??? After going back and forth and trying to stay calm with the man behind the counter, I just left and booked an appointment in L.A. I brought the same documents and it was approved.

The story goes like this, I have an appointment to renew my passport and gathered all the pertinent documents in my possession. Arrived at the consulate very early as i am the first appointment. I met with an alien, you know one person with two brains. My documentation was reviewed and I'm missing an ID. My ID was either lost or stolen, a NYPD police report was obtained to support the lost or stolen ID. The alien insisted that I bring an ID, which I don't have. A couple of recommendations from the alien is obtained high school ID , NBI CLEARANCE ID, BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE ETC. Essentially, I had to visit the consulate four times. and still did not get my passport. I am very frustrated with this alien. I planned to visit the country this holiday season. but i did not get passport. I WANT THIS LETTER BE GIVEN TO CONSUL GENERAL FOR HIS CONCERN.
