Don't Bother. You don't get the service or respect you should get. They claim they have appointments available and give you a time to call back. You call back and they give you another time to call back. You do and they tell you to go online ... nothing online. You call back and they say they're out of appointments, I ask when they got open; their response... two minutes before you called. How are all the appointments gone in two minutes ? Decide I want to go visit the place and see if I can do a walk in. Huge line of 200+ people outside. None of which have an appointment, according to some of them, they were charging $50 to guarantee an appointment when the appointment service should be free. I'm guessing the employees or whoever is in charge is pocketing the "appointment fee" for themselves. They tell everyone that they will get a walk in spot. After 4 hours of waiting, mind you they got there an hour and a half late, they tell either will only be accepting 50 people. What about the now 300+ people well go home and try again another day. Some people were there longer than we were and still didn't get a spot, some people drove from far and nothing. Waste of time, either give out appointments or take more walk ins. No one in that line of 400 people had an appointment. read more

So at this current moment as I'm making this review, I'm in line to the consulate. It's almost 9am and I came at 7am. The staff that's been going outside checking on appointments, she isn't half bad the downside is that she isn't telling any of us (around 50+ people) which line is which. What is even funnier is they do have a "line" but that line is for passports and dual citizenship, another line is for anything in general, and the last and finally line is for appointments. Now I do understand that some people go in the wrong line but we have no clue what line is which. I tried telling the worker who walks inside and out if this line is this and if I should be here. I have gone back and forth because of her. I'm also here with my mother, so she has given me her experience in this place, from what she told me it's like the DMV but somehow the DMV is better. Of course I didn't really believe her because she over reacts but LORD SHOULD HAVE I LISTENED- I fully recommend going to the one in San Jose, they still treat you half-assed but it's 10 times better than this place. Also to the appointments are hard to get, even if you call, they put you on hold for hour then tell you to call another time since it's "packed". And don't even try emailing or online because they either ignore you and they don't give you a chance to make an appointment. Quiero expresar que ha sido extremadamente difícil comunicarme con el consulado de Fresno, CA. Me considero una persona hábil en el uso de la tecnología, sin embargo, no pude agendar una cita en línea. Cuando el sistema me pedía subir documentos como el pasaporte o el acta de nacimiento, primero me indicaba que el archivo era demasiado grande. Después de reducir el tamaño y volver a intentarlo, el sistema marcaba error, pero nunca explicaba cuál era el problema. Por esta razón, no fue posible completar la cita por internet. Intenté entonces utilizar la opción de WhatsApp. Todo iba bien hasta llegar al menú desplegable donde debía seleccionar mi lugar de origen, pero mi pueblo, Santiago Yosondúa, Tlaxiaco, Oaxaca, ni siquiera aparece en la lista. Al no encontrar solución, llamé por teléfono. La grabación repetía constantemente que el tiempo de espera sería de cinco minutos, pero ese mensaje se repetía una y otra vez sin que nadie atendiera la llamada. Después de esperar bastante, el sistema volvía a empezar desde el inicio. Es una experiencia muy frustrante. Tampoco encontré una forma clara de presentar una queja o de comunicarme con una persona que pudiera orientar. Si para alguien que maneja la tecnología resulta tan complicado, no quiero imaginar lo difícil que debe ser para quienes tienen menos acceso o menos experiencia con el internet. Brought my mom to renew her passport, come to find out since she is over 60 she does not need an appointment and there's a 50% discount. FYI if you are under 60 then you will need to make an appointment online or by calling. By phone try calling after 4:30pm since calling in morning will be unsuccessful. You can also call on weekends to schedule an appointment too but make sure you're calling the 1-424-309-0009. Once you show up to you appointment make sure you have all your documents, depending the services you're trying to get done. I was lucky to get an appointment at the consulate in Fresno. I live in the San Francisco Bay area however getting appointments at the San Francisco consulate or the San Jose consulate is extremely difficult. So when an appointment came up during my search at this location I took it. The drive was 2 1/2 hours from my home however I looked at it as a day to do some sightseeing in addition to going to the consulate. There is free parking in a private lot. The service at the consulate was friendly in spite of the large crowds of people. Make sure that you have all of your documentation (and even more) for example in my case I did not realize that I needed to bring a proof of address such as a telephone or energy bill so I quickly went to my car and got the DMV registration and that worked. if you are trying to get a new passport please note that they accept debit and credit cards and also you do not need to bring a photograph because they now will take digital photos of you that they will use for the passport. The office has plenty of seating and is air conditioned. Also they only allow the people with appointments to come in so don't bring anyone else with you unless they have also an appointment because they would need to wait outside and it is very hot and uncomfortable in the summer. Also please note that the consulate closes at 12 pm And they do not reopen for the day, so it is important that you pick up your passport before they close. I made the mistake of going out after dropping my papers to get some coffee and food and when I returned just passed noon I found the doors closed. However the security guard was very kind, and after I explained my problem, that I had already dropped off all my paperwork and just needed to pick up. They call someone else from the consulate who came over to the door and assisted me, so I was able to pick up my documents without a problem. However don't do as I did, and make sure you are there before 12 to pick up your documents. read more

Hoy tuve mi cita para sacar mi pasaporte en el Consulado Mexicano de Fresno, veo mucho comentario negativo y hay que ser justos cuando la experiencia es positiva, es mi caso fué muy positiva... les cuento mi experiencia, para lograr una cita me tomó como 6 meses a través del famoso numero de WhatsApp (esa parte fué la unica que hay que mejorar) pues hoy tuve esa cita a las 8 am, yo llegué unos 20 min antes para formarme, éramos aproximadamente 50 personas formadas y faltando 10 min para las 8 salió una persona muy amable a informarnos que nos llamarían por nuestro nombre los que tuviéramos cita, no era necesario hacer fila, y los que no tuvieran cita si tenian que hacer fila.... Exactamente a las 8 am abrieron las puertas y empezaron a llamarnos por nuestro nombre en grupos de 10 personas, yo fui el tercero que llamaron en el primer grupo y me asignaron una ventanilla... me tocó una chica de nombre Martha muy amable y servicial, me pidió los documentos necesarios y el proceso con ella duró menos de 10 min, procedí a pagar y me pidieron sentarme en la sala de espera mientras se procesaba mi pasaporte... ellos llamarían una vez que estuviera listo, yo iba mentalizado para esperar 2 o 3 horas y cual fué mi sorpresa? No pasaron ni 30 min cuando me llamaron para entregarme mi documento, desde el momento que entré y salí con mi pasaporte en mano fueron menos de 40 min. felicito a todo el personal por el excelente trabajo y una atención muy buena! Probably easiest thing I have yet done when it comes to processing my documents. Reason why many people complain on here is because they fail to follow protocol. I give kudos to the staff for continuing to smile and work diligently despite dealing with so much ignorance on the daily. Here is a basic guide I'm putting together for you. -Appointments are mandatory in order to be seen. (Obvious) -Appointmets can only be scheduled during a window that opens Wednesday usually after noon and closes Thursday around noon. - Follow this link to schedule - https://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/lasvegas/index.php/agenda-tu-cita -Some documents you should have on hand include; ID, birth certificate, proof of residence, expired ID, passport you wish to renew, marriage certificate etc. The required documents vary depending on type of item you wish to renew. Check the website, a list is provided. - On your appointment day it's always a good idea to arrive at least 30 minutes early. Early is on time, on time is late, and late is rescheduled. (personal policy). - Staff standing outside will call the 8:00 appointments exactly at 8 then the 8:15 so on and so forth. Please don't stand at the door if you're an hour early, they won't call your name until the exact time. You may show up without an appointment but there may only be a few walk in spots due to no shows. So do this at your own risk. - Please be kind to the staff, they're doing everything they can to assist you, and guess what they're more likely to squeeze you in or make exceptions if you're nice. It's not the staffs Fault you don't have the documents you need, nor the fact you do not have your personal information on hand. - Stop expecting to be spoon fed, follow above instructions and you will be out within the hour or so. I came here to renew my passport. After calling several days, and checking online, I had no luck getting a darn appointment in Sacramento nor San Francisco. Luckily, when I called on Wednesday, the representative was able to book me an appointment in Fresno on a Saturday. Even better . First time ever being here, I had no issues whatsoever. I brought my old passport and additional documents just in case they requested them (Marriage license, Birth Certificate, & ID to show proof of address). I heard other people saying how horrible this place was. Someone just kept complaining and complaining ‍. I had even read some of the bad reviews left here. To be quite honest, I had a GREAT experience! Everyone was friendly & respectful. I said hello to the gentleman in the front of the building, shook the security guards hand, & did small talk with the people at the service windows. If you take the time to show kindness & respect, you'll be Surprised how much more you'll get in return. Just remind yourself, these are people just like you and me. They are tired of dealing with negative crap and rude attitudes. They have families to go home to. Their Job is to serve you. So if you come prepared, with ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS, show kindness and give respect, they will too. I got everything taken care of in less than 1 hour. No problem at all! Checked my info to make all was spelled correctly ect and all was good. I would not mind coming back here again. I even made a couple friends. SOO NICE! I didn't have an appointment and there was a long line. I had a few questions and not only did they help me with my questions, but they took the time to do a little research in the computer too. Wow! so impressed with these people, they saved me from having to make an appointment just to find out what they told me in minutes. I did wait patiently outside the line to await my turn to talk. Its all about showing respect and not acting entitled. They only speak Spanish, so don't expect to go there and expect them to speak english. read more

HORRIBLE!!! If you don't have the patience to work with public please don't get this kind of jobs. Good customer service and lots of patience should be a must. First of all, Yes you have to make an appointment, do they care who gets in first in first out nooooo. If they happen to know the cousin of the cousin they get priority. The guy at the front is rude!!! We are not catlle !!! Please be kind and direct people around, most of the people I saw there, were our older people trying to renew old passports , IDs etc. They probably don't have anyone at home that can help them navigate all the paperwork. Instead they get yelled at and dirty looks from the workers instead a kind and friendly face. How about " I can help you fill out any paper work"" with a F---- smile. Most of these people are migrants and don't know how to write English or Spanish. Let's be honest they don't charge a penny for their services the least they can do is be friendly. Shame !!!!! My appointment was at 9:45 I got there at 9:30 and didn't leave that place till 1:15 pm! The girls there are very rude, no type of customer service! All I needed was to renew my passport, shouldn't have taken hours. Oh and by the way my renewal fee was $136 and I gave her $140 and never got my change lol they're not only rude but stupid when it comes to simple math. read more

I am trying to get my Mexican passport and today is my appointment to get it. The appointment website can be tricky, took me a while to figure it out. But they certainly will not let you in without an appointment. I tried to call to see if they accepted debit cards. Nobody answered. While reading the reviews on google (which are horrible), people say they don't accept $100 bills. They don't allow guests. And it can take 1-2 hours to get your passport or other documents you're applying for. First of all, they do accept $100 bills. They also take debit cards. My mom went with me to my appointment (I'm not a minor, though) and she was allowed in to sit in the waiting area. For me, it took about 2hours and 30 minutes to get me out the door with my passport. First, you have to check in at the door. They ask you what you're there for and give you a number and a color. You line up to the appropriate color and wait your turn. The people who fill out the forms for you and take your picture are pretty good with time. Occasionally, there's one person who constantly has to stand up and do other stuff (making your wait time longer). They take your pictures, your prints, you pay your fee and you wait. There's people who represent organizations that are very helpful and give information. There's bathrooms for your convenience, water fountains as well. I'd suggest some vending machines because you can get hungry. I've been to other consulates with family members in Mexico and the wait time is on average 4 hours. The worst place to do any formalities I would avoid this place. Unless you really need to do any type of formalities. It's really pointless to schedule an appointment because they don't call you by appointment basically they call you randomly. I schedule an appointment today 10/28/19 at 8:00am and we got told we had to wait because according to them there is 30 people ahead of us. How is that even possible? I have an appointment? It's just pointless to schedule an appointment, good luck! And all they tell you is "tenga pascenscia." If there was negative zero stars I would rate them that. Worst Mexican Consulate. Got here at 8:40 and it's about to be 12 in the afternoon and I'm still here waiting.

I am giving a star for the people at the entrance, they are helpful. I guess most people expect worse at these places. Its sad but true. I don't know why government places have such a bad work ethic. The people sitting at their desk are just talking to one another, laughing it up, and wasting our time. One lady kept coming out just to chat with the others. They don't help you at all, they basically are just sitting there not even pretending to work. read more

Honestly, it's not so bad as people make it seem. My mother and I drove 2hrs to get here. We arrived @7, however, they open @8. The gates to enter the facility were not open until 7:30. My mom was the third person in line. However, the wait time various. A couple people had appointments and left at the same time people without appts left. Arrived @7:30 left at 9. In our case we stayed a little pass 9 due to other reasons. Staff members are friendly, seniors get discounts, and you're able to bring a guest in with you. I do suggest to come in early or else you have to wait pass 9 to get in. Again, depends on the amount of people in line. The only thing that hold us back was, the lady helping my mom was new (2weeks in) and took forever but that was it. read more

The people were nice enough and gave clear instructions on where to go. My only complaint was the time I had to wait to get my Consular ID. I went to another Consulate of Mexico in another state (in March of 2018) to get my Consular ID for the first time and it only took a little over an hour, but here just to change the address it took a little under 3 hours. I don't think it should take this long, but other than that it was bearable​. read more

The service was great, people were nice. They have rules they need to follow and I think people get frustrated about them. Only downside is the hotline to make an appointment could be better but they explained that to me that it's a hotline in Mexico for all consulates not just for them. read more

Its been three weeks of pure frustration with the people and computer appointment system. I have been trying to get an appointment to get an official Mex. Government notary to hep my father. The system states that there are no appointments this month and in the future months for this type of help although it is a category that is in the drop down listing for services rendered on the automated system. When I get a hold of a live person they try and simply state that there are no current appointments available and simply say that there is nothing that they can do. I have left both e-mail messages and voice mail messages at the contacts provided by people and on their website. I have yet to have a response. They are glad to accept fees for services at the consulate and on the toll roads as we visit family in Mexico, but they fail as usual to help with simple requests. The automated system is crap. I wonder who gave a bribe for the contract of this system. Carlos Slim? Business as usual Mexican style! read more
