Just trying to get out of the house this morning after my coffee and nail appointment. The park is directly across the street from where get my nails done so I left my car in the parking lot and walked across the street to the park. Even though there were a lot of people there, it was really relaxing just to walk around in my own little world. There was a nice breeze blowing this morning, so it felt really good just to get out of the house walk past the dog park. It was super cute, I just had a nice relaxing morning walking around seeing the sites and people watching. I totally need to do this more after I get my nails done. read more

This park is huge, it's definitely one of the best city parks I have been too. It has everything you could really want - Great running/biking trails -Huge ponds with tons of friendly ducks & geese you can feed (just don't feed them bread it's bad for their health & can give them angel wings.) -Music event amphitheatre -Beautiful Japanese garden -Playgrounds -Fenced dog park -Fishing ponds -Tons of trees & grassy areas -Bmx bike track This park is really scenic & is huge. We love to bring our kids here to explore, ride bikes & feed the ducks & geese (we bought a 50lb bag of cracked corn from Tractor Supply for like $18 & keep it in the back of our van.) They are super friendly & will eat out of our kids hands. We accidentally came here yesterday during the Water Lantern Festival & it was insane how many people & food trucks were there. *Tip If you plan on coming for than a few time during the year but the annual parking pass from the electronic kiosks around the park for $50 (it's good for parking at all city parks & The Fresno Zoo as well but it's only good for one cars license plate. read more

Such a beautiful space. There were so many people all over, taking photos for their various occasions. You have to pay to park and enter the garden. it's worth it.Good place to picnic, chill and look at the wildlife. I'd definitely revisit. There were peacocks, birds and koi in the pond. Took a drive thru the park yesterday and I was concerned about all the rodents which seems to be raking over the park. My grandchildren like the slides and play areas. My worst nightmare would be if all the rodents were infected by a communicable disease that would pose a danger to the children. I don't like the pay system because it denies young people of jobs. read more

Wow, this park is dry, but at least it's hard to lose a disc here! When you enter Woodward park follow the signage and you'll that this course is right in the center of the park. I came here to play frisbee golf was pleasantly surprised with the signage and basket care. All of the baskets looked practically new and the each tee pad sign had clips to mark what baskets were being used that day. A few of signs were a little off on the exact location of the baskets, but it was still fun day. All of the holes are a par three and each hole is relatively short. So you can easily breeze through course within an hour and a half to two-hours. This might be the only disc golf course in Fresno sadly, but it's still a solid course. read more

Visiting the area, I road my road bike around to check this place out. Lots of hiking trails; some dirt...you can go for miles! Small ponds & lakes too. There are grills and covered picnic areas to avoid the sun when it's too sunny. I saw a BMX area and small amphitheater. There were lots of people kicking a soccer ball around, jogging, throwing a frisbee, hiking, fishing, etc. Needless to say, this is a pretty nice park. But I suspect on really nice days, getting the picnic location you want and the parking, might be a problem if you don't show extremely early. I saw some gates that were up at some unmanned toll booths...so I don't know if there's a fee to get in or not during their peak season. read more

80% of the park is dead grass or dirt. I'm not sure what happened but huge stretches are now unusable.

Lovely hiking trails, and there is a restroom although it could be a bit tidier. $5 to park. I would have stayed longer, but I was having a bit of a dog panic day and there were so many dogs, some not on leashes, and that was too much for me. read more

Woodward Park is the most beautiful park we have in the area. It's the perfect place to go hang out for a picnic, have a kids birthday party, or have a family reunion. Whatever the case may be Im sure you will enjoy this place. Many people walk the trail or ride their bike or take a run. There are a few places where the kids can play on the bars or climb a wall... just so much to do. One of the things I love to do with my friends and family is go to concerts in the Amphitheater during summer evenings. I have seen so many people take their engagement pictures, Quinceanera pictures etc. The place is so very well taken care of the grass is always green and the flowers are always blooming. You do have to pay for entrance... I believe it is 5 dollars but not a big deal. Check it out for yourself! read more

My go to park! I live very close. I have a annual parks pass so I don't have to pay every time I go in. I suggest getting one of those if you don't want to pay 5 dollars every time you go. I love how many trails there and I love the access to the bathrooms although they could do better at cleaning them. It's a beautiful park. I also recommend checking out the friendship garden which is an additional fee. Please clean up after yourself and keep the park beautiful The only reason I am updating to 4 stars is because people NEED TO FOLLOW THE LEASH LAWS!! No matter how good you think your dog is the only off leash area is the dog park. I wish someone would drive out and hand out tickets to the rule breakers I have had a few charge my dog. We visited this park on the way to Yosemite. This is a beautiful park. Our LO especially liked the art of life playground. We were disappointed to encounter a strange smell at the park. The strange smell at the Woodward park was so persistently disturbing that we left after only a few minutes there. I love, love coming this side of the park. This is actually out side the park it self. There I no parking available unless you pay for it. The cost to enter the park is very convenient only $ 5 dls. But I go across the street from Washington forth and parked there and just walk to the park. I am a faithful sunset lover and when it's some kind of cloud I try to go because at sunset you can have the most magnificent sight of the sun coming down. You can appreciate all kind of color from dark red to the loath beautiful light blue and pinkish color. As you can appreciate I. The picture I posted here on the review. Also when cloud are present the changing of color last longer and you can appreciate the sunset better than if it was none at all. This side of the park have trails to walk for almost 2 miles or more (haven't gone all the way to the end) and it has high hill and you get to exercise a little bit more than just plane road. There is a lot of trees and flowers to look and admire. Plenty of seating spots. There are some romantic spots If your love accompany you. When nigh come you can appreciate the beautiful sky full of stars because it gets pretty dark in there and it's just appropriate for that. The park closes at 10 so you will have plenty of time to enjoy the night there. My favorite spot to come and walk around golden hour. Specially if you just ate a delicious food before that. I have such fond memories here! My first date with my now husband was at WoodWard, and this is where he proposed to me. Very sweet. This place is the definition of calm! Beautiful views! Birds. Chirping! Many different trails! Just really serene. It's kept up really well! I went this morning and there was very few people. A couple of people walking their dogs. Others, just enjoying the trails and beautiful views. Some bicycle riders too! Very relaxing and content! There are squirrels everywhere! Cute! They have many different areas with tables too! You could take lunch and enjoy if you want. I had a couple dates here when the restaurants were closed and it was nice to pick up food and then walk around. Enjoy on a nice day! They have bathrooms too if you need to go and they are pretty clean and kept up. Porta potty style once you walk in. Beautiful, calm & safe park! Very nice to walk or enjoy a picnic. This is a review for Boots in the Park held at Woodward Park. My first experience attending was April 2023 and it was a fantastic experience. The grounds are spacious and there is plenty of room to spread out. In my experience the vendors were great and the prices were not out of control which they tend to be at these kinds of events. A very pleasant family experience and would highly recommend. It was warm April day but it is the Central Valley and warm days appear in April but there were shady trees and a pavilion. The pavilion folks got there early so it was full. You can bring camping chairs and a beach towel. The VIP area is great and near the left stage. The bathrooms in VIP are air conditioned trailers with running water so it was bougie for an outdoor venue. Highly recommend for a local good time. Only down side is parking and if there are other events in the area then an Uber after the event could take a while. Walk to a nearby business and grab your ride share there. read more

This park has way too much to list and you can spend all day here without getting bored. The park is huge with a great layout so that you can park in several locations and not have to walk every where. You can enjoy the Japanese gardens with its great landscaping and giant koi fish. If you have a four legged friend their is a dog park inside woodward also so you can get rover some exercise. If you are in to biking or walking there are many trail to follow that go for miles. For families there are several picnic area and play ground structure for your entertainment. I can't believe I haven't written a review of Woodward Park yet, because I come here so often! I'm fortunate to live walking/running distance from this lovely spot. It's really a gem of Fresno! There's lots to explore in Woodward Park, from the Japanese Garden to the art installation tot he ducks at the pond. If you go towards the end of Woodward Park towards Copper Rd., you can take the path down to the San Joaquin River Center to check out the Hidden Homes trail and buy some popsicles, perfect on a hot summer day. I highly recommend coming here if you're wondering "what is there to do in Fresno?" Come out for a walk/run. On a clear day you can see the Sierras. It's my happy place! Parking in the lots is $5 and they do monitor these beginning very early in the morning. Alternatively, you can park in the Fort Washington shopping center for free, or park in an adjoining neighborhood, and walk over. I am really looking forward to the day they extend the Woodward Park trail all the way to Lost Lake. That would be amazing! My only complaint about Woodward that, as a runner, sometimes I really would love a bathroom, and I've never found them to be unlocked. Something to keep in mind. Maybe I'm checking at the wrong times though! read more

There's an older man and woman with a black and white collie who is here EVERYDAY. Their dog is super aggressive and they won't stop their dog from biting or bullying other dogs unless cops are threatened. His dog stalks other dogs and pins them down, repeatedly biting throats in a non-play fashion. Their dog attacked mine and when it bit me I called the cops and he tried to blame me having a bully breed and threatened to hit us with his car if he saw us walking. He also refused to give information if his dog had rabies vaccinations and to exchange information as my dog was injured. He refused to send his dog into a quarantine as well and was at the park the NEXT DAY. read more

Visited the park for the first time in ages and was pleasantly surprised at all of the landscape and monument work done. The energy at 7am was calm, quiet, and energizing. My dad and I walked a trail while high schoolers practiced running the same trail and we enjoyed the views and the quiet buzz of exercise. WOW!!! I wish anything comparable to this Park existed in all cities. Beautifully maintained walking paths, trails for bikes, path ways for dogs, picnic areas, plenty of amazing views and nature for pictures, ample parking and lots of land!! What more can you ask for?? Totally a get away from the city oasis atmosphere for those outdoor lovers. My boyfriend, fur baby and I walked up and down everywhere for about 4 miles and still had so much to see and do! It's amazing how there was literally no litter or dog poop where I walked. I do wish there were poop bags every mile or two, but for a $5/vehicle admission, I suppose owners are responsible to bring their own! Do bring your own water as I didn't see much drinking fountains once you're away from the parking lot. I can't wait to come back again to see more!! read more

I love Woodward Park for so many reasons, there are countless places in here for everyone, bikers, runners, dog lovers, kids, teens, frisbee peps, just whatever your little heart desires. We have come here for our engagement pictures in the Japanese garden, then brought our dogs here to play and run around, and now with a little one, use the playgrounds and walk around the lake looking at the ducks swimming around. It is always clean, they also have concerts in the park and plays that you can attend as well. Even when they are busy, they have so many spots and parking lots that it doesn't feel like people are shoulder to shoulder. Also the history of this park is pretty interesting too. I have fond memories of this park from my childhood. From riding our bikes all the way round the whole thing to feeding the ducks (I know, bad kids!) there was always fun to be had here whether it was winter and chillly or summer and blazing hot. My dad trained here for marathons with his best friend and I came here for many events and outings throughout my younger life. I am glad this park is here..as is my little one who loves to feed the geese. Sure the grass may be a bit brown...but other than that, this is a wonderful refuge from urban life. Whether you want to throw a party under a picnic shelter, meander through a beautiful Japanese garden, feed the geese, chase the squirrels, go dirt biking, sit and do nothing, or play a mean round of frisbee golf, this is the place to go. Free if you walk or bike in, but $5 if you drive in (unless you spend around $40 for an annual pass--good also at Roeding park), I believe the fees go back to caring for the park..or at least that's the theory. There are tons of activities here on weekends and over the summer, such as charity races, tournaments, shakespeare plays (summer), MMA events and concerts...so check ahead to find out how crowded it will be. read more

Woodward Park is probably one of my favorite parks in Fresno, however I do not frequent it as it is across town from where I reside. I have definitely came here for walks and runs by supporting causes and putting on events. Last year I came for a Raiders event as it sounded intriguing and checked it out. I love the view of the pond and the playgrounds that it has for the little ones. There are high points in the trail which can give you a beautiful view of the Valley. There's always something going on that will keep you occupied. Great for get togethers, movies at the park, exercise and parties. There is always something to explore here. I love nature and if I lived closer I would so frequent this place a lot and often. You definitely have to check out the Japanese Gardens however it is a few to get in. You will not be disappointed just come on out to take a stroll and cool down from the hot Valley heat as there are trees and water to beat the heat! read more

This place is going to be a money money pit for government agency they're going to give tickets out like water here they're going to make so much more money now but not charging for you to get in the park but you have to pay to park your car they're going to get people for expired meters and they're going to give out tickets I think the ticket is $33 a piece and a lot of people are not going to understand how to do the app so they're going to get a ticket too this in my opinion is double dipping because a public park should be free parking hospital just called landlords and tenants and homeowners pay property taxes to go to these parks so now they're charging again shame on the system read more
