Usually, I've been to stand-alone Quest locations but this was inside Atmed Urgent Care. It was easy to locate and there are plenty of parking spots. I went into the building and found Suite 122, there are plenty of signs in the building. I wrote my name down on the sign-in sheet and took a seat in the waiting room. A few minutes later, my name was called and I spoke with a woman. I gave her the QPassport my new employer provided and she brought me to the back. The whole process was seamless.

It was also hard to find a handicapped spot. Upon arriving it seemed like a big office with a cattle car mentality, but that's where things got better. My wife had an appointment with Dr. Khaleel, and he explained what was going on in a straightforward way and answered all the questions that we had. The cystoscopy was performed with minimal discomfort and over before my wife knew it. All the assistants and secretarial staff were professional and helpful as well. If my own urologist office continues to have problems with scheduling and cancelled appointments, I might look into switching to Dr. Khaleel myself.

It was requested that I not take any calcium for a few days leading up to the test and to wear clothing without metal. I also needed to bring a referral. No scans without a referral. The building has it's own private parking lot, which is excellent as parking around the hospital is dear. The office is down one level, first door on the right. An elevator is available if needed. I checked-in and had a seat in the large waiting area. The building has no public restrooms, but a private one is available behind the clinic door if needed. Before my test I was weighed and measured. Stand up tall! The patient lays on their back, on a hard table. The radiologst goes into the next room to run the scan. The table can be moved remotely to get the correct body position. After one round of images, my feet were strapped to a small plastic form to keep my toes turned in and another round of films taken. After that, images of my wrist were taken. And that's it. No disrobing needed as I wore no metal. Reports are accessed through their online patient portal. The total appointment took about 30 minutes from check-in to driving away. DexA Scans are not covered by hospital financial aid.

Once I finally found the correct building and entrance, the front desk receptionist, Heather, was such a kind, caring and patient human. I cannot stress enough how wonderful and helpful Heather was! All reception area staff were wearing masks, and hand sanitizer is available everywhere. Social distancing is encouraged but not enforced. There is signage stating "all patients must wear a mask" but no one is enforcing this, as several elderly patients without masks were wandering about. I filled out standard paperwork and waited very briefly, then a tech took me into an x Ray room. After that, I waited about 10-15 minutes in a stuffy exam room to see Dr. Belanger. Dr. B was personable and professional. Excellent bedside manner. Took time and explained things to me, I didn't feel rushed or spoken down to. Would absolutely recommend Dr. B.

My referral didn't specify for a specific surgeon, but said whomever was available. Every time I called the receptionist would state, "I can't find a referral for someone who doesn't have a dr specified." I waited three weeks for a call. The next time I called someone finally took my info down and promised to call me back no matter what by the end of the day. I waited two days, still no call. I called on that second day and re explained my situation. This reception was rude and said, "She might call me back.." It has been four weeks.. still no call. I have sent a total of 7 referrals. If you want time wasted and no one to care about what your situation is, this is your place!
