We didn't even discuss my Xray results, or other options for my clenching jaw. She just jumped to my 3 slightly crooked teeth. THREE! Really? They didn't even make my next 6-month appointment after 3 HOURS of appointment time with them. Everything immediately focused on my new braces. They even pushed me to apply for credit. When they asked me for my checking account information, I put the brakes on. All they did, was make me feel like I was being taken advantage of. Cavities? I don't know if I have any. I will most likely get an appointment with someone else in 6 months. I really hate the way my appointment shifted. Seven days later, I am still feeling that vibe. I don't like it at all. Ruban kept calling me, even after I left him a message telling him that I will be seeking a less invasive treatment. None of which they discussed with me. Invisalign Braces were my only choice from this dentist. I told everyone in this office that I spoke with that my hearing is an issue, and please not to call me on the phone. My phone is ringing. I have been going to Dr. Marte's office for about two years now and I have to say it's the BEST experience I've had at the dentist. The two hygienist I've had have been the sweetest to me! First one I had really made me feel so comfortable being there and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Sadly she ended up leaving and was moved to another hygienist and been with her for over a year now. And just like the first one she always making sure I'm okay and talks me through it. Dr. Marte has been super friendly and always has great tips. In a few months I'll be moving but I will still make the drive just to come to this location. 10/10 experience for me.

Fearing the worst and not wanting to wait a week until our trip was over, we decided to roll the dice and find an emergency dentist. Orlando Smiles worked out great. It's a regular dental practice that offers emergency visits. The xray of my daughter's tooth looked ugly even to my untrained eyes. We took the dr's recommendation and had her tooth removed right then and we're given antibiotics for the rest of the trip. We'll follow up with our normal dentist when we get home but thanks to Orlando Smiles for helping tourists in a pinch!

My own doctor was full that day, and being a Friday, I knew I wouldn't last until Monday due to the pain. I also know that my dentist would have opted for a root canal instead of a full on extraction. They make you sign waivers and pay up-front for a procedure. $595 for an extraction of one tooth. They never explained anything to be expected from the procedure; not my options, after care procedures etc. Unfortunately, when you are in so much pain, you basically do as you are told. In hindsight, I wish I had left her office. It took her 20 minutes of pulling and tugging to get my tooth out and she had no bedside manner at all. When she was done, she just left, on to the next patient (or dollar sign). As I was later told by my own dentist, the office would usually have you wait until a blood clot is formed in the socket after an extraction. Not here. I was sent on my way without a prescription for antibiotics or pain medication and had to return to ask for it. I had a dry socket with exposed bone form. There was even a piece of my tooth left in the socket. When I came home and read all the bad reviews on google my stomach turned. I had to return to my own doctor to get additional treatment. My doctor had to irritate the dry socket to allow a blood clot to form so that it can cover the bone and heal. How is it possible that Orlando Smiles would let a patient out of their office without letting them know about the healing process, or waiting for a blood clot to form? Do NOT go to this dentist. She is the first one you will find when you google "emergency dentist" and unfortunately, this is what desperate people on vacation resort to. Do your research prior...

I have sensitive teeth and they are always aware of this and are gentile. They explain what they are doing and explain if you've had X-rays or need additional work done and are very accommodating! Asked on the phone if they could treat a young child of two years (the answer on the phone was yes, and to bring them in during my appointment). However when I arrived with them they seemed to be very uncomfortable with a young child and the doctor actually didn't look at their teeth, but instead one of the hygienists who "used to work at a pediatric dentist" did. 2. The teeth staining I had concern about (because they can lead to decay and infection) I was told was not a big concern. I was also advised against using fluoride toothpaste and to keep brushing their teeth using baby toothpaste. No additional instructions were given until they could spit better. At the time I felt informed and that my concerns were answered, but this was me putting too much trust in them I think, and how they present themselves as a "family dentistry for all ages". 3.My toddler now has two cavities because of following this advice (or lack of advice). I tried to do the right thing and go to a professional in advance, but I didn't get that here. I am extremely disheartened and wish I had skipped this place and brought my child to a pediatric dentist back then. My toddler is very likely facing oral surgery now because I was given false assurance that things were fine. *Please if you are a parent concerned about your young toddlers teeth look into a pediatric dentist first or at least make sure the doctor will actually look at your child's teeth as he didn't look at my child's directly. You could save yourself from a very unwanted and preventable situation!* My care for my own teeth was very good here, which is why it makes me especially sad that this situation happened because it seems as though they are kind enough and skilled enough but simply didn't take the situation seriously for my child . I have no issues with the care of my teeth, but I would never recommend this place for a young child's care based on my experience.
