I verify amounts, pay the "just in case your insurance charges more" price cited, in full, before any work begins. 2 months later, I get a bill for $145.60, every month for a year. Absolutely confused on how a final total, is not the actual final total. I asked, several times, if they were sure this is the amount and it wouldn't be asked to pay higher, and of course, yessed to death and yet here we are. Never, ever had a dental office, charge more AFTER the visit. I've had Amazing insurance over the years, I've had threshold insurance, NEVER, has a Dentist, Doctor, Specialist, Practitioner, whoever, changed a price for any reason. Sent a letter out around December of 2019, expressing my concern, confusion, and disgust on the breakdown of communication. No phone calls, no emails, nothing - just the next month, another bill with a note stating something along the lines of "this is what you owe due to your insurance" written on it. So, several months later, I have had a deep cleaning performed on my teeth over three appointments. I was expecting some pain and discomfort and was happily surprised to not have any. Jessica was the Hygienist who performed the work and she is gentle and kind as she performed the work. I was back last week to replace an old amalgam (silver metal) filling in a molar for a white porcelain filling. Again, I had the expectation of some pain and discomfort and didn't experience any at all. Dr. Koyfman performed the work assisted by Dental Assistant Christy. This procedure lasted no more than 20 minutes and I was on my way home. When the numbness wore off, I felt like nothing had ever happened. I am happy with this clinic and have brought my Mom for her first time visit today to fix a bridge that broke. Her longtime dentist is in another state and she usually goes back to them, but she was in need of a repair much sooner. read more

My 20+ year old son has a complex dental history with jaw removal, and other dental issues because of the time he couldn't have any done due to all the surgeries... He went here for a cleaning after another dentist said he needed $1500 deep cleaning. He didn't need it at all (later confirmed by his oral surgeon). Koyfman took care of him so well, and humanely! I made an appointment to switch my own dental needs to this practice and had a new patient appointment scheduled for today. Last night I bit down on a Goldfish cracker and my bottom molar felt like there was pressure... not good. I was concerned that I might have cracked the tooth, and it is a tooth that broke about a year ago and was half bonding... I had really come to distrust my previous dentist's work as this repair wasn't that old to break! Sure enough, the tooth was broken. I'm so glad I'm not going to THAT dentist any longer! I don't usually write reviews, however this time it was necessary. i visited the praxis, as it came highly recommended online, and wonder now how authentic these ratings actually are. Out of three visits, for different steps in the treatment plan, I had three complications, two of which required expensive and time consuming follow up visits with a specialist. The final straw was a cosmetic procedure (crown) which Dr. Koyfman had me come back several times because the crown didn't fit properly. Furthermore when this was brought up, I was faced with rude and unprofessional behavior. This may be a little long but, I can't say enough good things about my experience with this practice. I consider myself a "professional dental patient" which is not something to be proud of, but my teeth have always given me trouble . I recently had an infection in one tooth while out of state and was told by an Endodontist that I may need an implant. When I returned home to Orlando, I went search of affordable care. I phoned my previous dentist (out of town) for a referral and he suggested a private practice as well as UF. I phoned both. The UF clinic in Seminole was able to get me in and would evaluate for $75 including all necessary X-rays. The private practice was a completely different story... the consultation alone was $300+ and the person on the phone couldn't have been more condescending and rude. I've had two implants (for baby teeth) and know how expensive they can be. At the UCLA advanced dental clinic, they were about $2500 each. This gave me the idea that it would be more costly at a private particle and I wanted to have an idea what I might be getting into. This guy wouldn't even give me a RANGE of possibilities. I told him how difficult he was making this for me (let's face it, COVID is stressful enough! We all need to extend a bit more kindness these days), thanked him and hung up. I was going to go ahead with an appointment at UF, but it's FAR! Lol. So, I started a search locally and stumbled upon Koyfman Dental. I phoned and SO GLAD I DID! Michelle answered the phone and was able to schedule me for a free consultation including bone scan and X-rays to evaluate the tooth. I was due for a cleaning (back in April) and she was able to fit me in for ALL of it. She gave me all the costs I might be facing and I couldn't believe how reasonable it would be if, in fact, I needed an implant. She withheld nothing. I thanked her so much for her help and kindness. I had a real good feeling about this place. A few days before my appointment, Vickie called to confirm and was just as lovely as Michelle! I arrived for my appointment today early, at the wrong time! I had my doc appointments mixed up. They had a cancellation and were able to fit me in within the hour. After Temp check, mask and hand washing, I read a book and waited. Cristina (hygienist) came and brought me in, did scan, xrays and perio exam and introduced me to Dr. R. (Rewari) who took a look at a few problems and xrays and scan and determined that we could watch the previously infected tooth. No implant so far! Dr. R's bedside manner is exceptional as well! At that moment, I decided that these two would be my "people". Lol Cristina finished up with my cleaning and polishing. She was absolutely wonderful and amiable. I may be a pro, but I still get nervous. She was kind, gentle and very aware of my nervousness and put me at ease. And we chatted about non-dental stuff. And finally, upon checkout with Cathy, I was presented with the plan clearly laid out and the cost and even payment options!! I don't know that I will need them now, but it's very good to know that they have in-house financing that rivals the credit company that I am familiar with. Honestly, not sure what more I can say! I received a dental bridge for my front 4 teeth with 2 anchors. I'm very disappointed in how things were handled. The insurance was handled incorrectly, the staff was rude, I wasn't asked about the final color and just given a dirty A3, my insurance was handled wrong which resulted in me having to wait ~3 months missing my 4 front teeth (which caused bone loss, changed my facial shape, and I could hardly eat or speak). And they did not do X-rays in between, so ultimately the permanent bridge was placed on bad teeth that could've been restored -- I paid $12k for a bridge that will only last a few years, not the usual 15 years. Here's a timeline of how my disaster treatment went down: * I had a temporary bridge inserted first and started a payment plan, my front 4 teeth were removed * COVID happened and circumstances became difficult and I couldn't make a few payments. * About 3 months later the temporary broke, I contacted them to resume payments but they wouldn't allow it, said I needed to pay half upfront (~$3.7k) for another temporary then the remainder for the final bridge (~$3.7k). I had $2k at the time and they wouldn't accept it to put in the temporary, so I had to leave the office missing my 4 front teeth. * Missing my front 4 teeth, I called the next day to schedule another appointment, but they couldn't get me in for nearly 2 months. This caused bone loss, changed the shape of my face, and made it very difficult to eat. * I come for my appointment with $3400, just $300 short, and I'm taken into the managers office like some child. She said "this isn't a charity", accused me of leaving a bad review online (I didn't), and basically said I need to find the money or they won't do it. Mind you, this is a temporary and I still have to pay the remaining portion once I get the permanent placed in. So I had to start calling family or leave with no teeth once again. I got the temporary in. * Come to find out, they estimated my insurance portion at $800. My insurance paid nearly $4600, so I had been delayed for all these months for absolutely no reason. I had a $600 credit on my account. I guess a pre-auth was never run. * I go for the permanent bridge, they do X-rays for the first time since we started, see that there are abscesses under the both anchor teeth, yet proceed to insert the final bridge. I'm told it will probably only last a few years because of this, not the 15 years a bridge usually lasts. Had X-rays been done prior, root canals could've been done to restore the teeth a bit. Instead, I've paid nearly $12,000 for restorations and a bridge that will last a few years at most * They didn't ask what color I want and was given a dirty A3 color, which makes no sense considering it's my front 6 teeth -- you hardly see any other teeth when I talk or smile, so no point in trying to match them. Had they asked, I wanted an A1... like the first temporary I received. What a complete disaster. read more

I was having a miserable year with dentistry...5 root canals due to having to accomplish two of them over again. I have excellent oral hygiene but am getting a bit "long in the tooth", so age finally caught up to some of my caps and crowns. Ultimately, after two root canal attempts on one of my molars, the endodontist could not save the tooth. My dentist of many years was sending me to one dentist for the extraction, another to implant the hardware, and expected me to return to fit and install the prosthetic "implant", ie the fake molar. After all I'd been through at that time I was not happy about having to deal with three different businesses/dental offices to accomplish this procedure, especially noting that it would take at least six months. I was actually depressed about the grind I was facing. Coincidentally, I got a coupon in the mail from Dr Koyfman. I nearly threw it out because the advertised price for the total procedure seemed impossibly low. Curiosity got the best of me, and I called the office, liked what I heard and scheduled a consultation. I'm not sure how they do it, but the advertised price was less than half of what I was being quoted by the other three professionals combined. The best news was that THE ENTIRE PROCESS would be handled by Dr Koyfman and his staff in their beautiful, comfortable, modern, well appointed office. One of the many impressive aspects of this practice is the amazing staff, from those who handle scheduling, finance, and insurance to the technicians and Dr Koyfman himself. They are wonderful, professional people who genuinely care about YOU. Everything is about YOU. I saved a TON of money by having my implant procedure done here. Looking back, far more important to me than cost was the mental relief I experienced by not having to suffer both the dental trauma as well as the administrative grind I was facing. While no one looks forward to having a tooth extracted and enduring this lengthy process, I was no longer depressed about it. Dr Koyfman offers a full service, professional approach to oral hygiene that I've never seen elsewhere, and at my age I've seen a lot. I highly recommend him and his staff and will of course continue to use his services in the future. Why? I have always been a big baby when it comes to going to the dentist. The minute I walked into that office, the lady I spoke to was very patient with me, explaining everything very clearly so that I understood everything that was going to be done and what my portion of the fees were. When I went for the first procedure, which was an extraction and bone graft in preparation for implant, they understood my anxiety and worked at my pace. if they saw I was getting stressed, they stopped, let me take a breather, then when I was ready to continue, we went on. My finances are a mess. what a pleasure it was to find a dentist who was willing to work with me. most would not do this. Perhaps, the most important thing I can say about them is they are non judgemental. I have had too many dentists tell me my teeth are the way they are because I don't take care of them. Forget the fact, I brush everytday. I never heard that here. In fact, the opposite. They took the time to teach me how to use the sonicare toothbrush and the water pik that they gave me. my second cleaning, I was praised at the difference. I went from 3-4 to 1-2 in three months. I would, and have, recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist with an office with a very relaxing atmosphere. read more

I had a good experience up until I received a bill in the mail stating that I owed money. I was attempting to find a dentist who was accepting new patients so I specifically went on to my dental insurance's website to find a dentist to make sure that I was in network. Dr. Koyfman was listed as a dentist there so I made an appointment. After the appointment, I received a benefits explanation sheet from my insurance letting me know that everything was fully covered. A few weeks later I received a bill from Dr. Koyfman's office showing that I owed over $100.00 to their office. I called their office and the lady who picked up the phone told me that I was "not in network" but she "would see what she could do about it." I told her that I was unsure why as I got their information directly from the insurance's website and when I was in the office they told me that I was 100% covered. She came back on the phone and said "they would waive the balance and wouldn't expect to see me back as they were out of network." I called my insurance to double check and the insurance stated "no, you are in network and we paid 100% of the costs. They are trying to get you to pay their tax write-off which they are not allowed to do." I called back to let them know and they said "there most have been an oversight." They are definitely sneaky and will do anything to get your money if you are a new patient.
