I returned recently to get therapy after rotator cuff surgery. PT Mike continues to provide amazing therapy in a professional manner. One on one therapy, explains everything on the treatment plan. This office specializes in manual PT, no handoffs to aides or machines. Mike is patient, kind and interested. Karen in the office is kind and accommodating. I had surgery in January that changed my life. It saved my life but the recovery has been one of the hardest things I've ever experienced. At first I met with Shadden who owns the facility and I felt immediately at ease. I loved how she spoke, she heard my concerns, what my goals were, and I loved her approach from both a medical and holistic perspective. (For anyone who has reservations about a holistic approach please hear them out before making an assumptions on what that means. I promise you it's not what you're thinking)...After meeting with Shadden she suggested I should do fascia work with Carly first to get started due to my pain, severe sensitivity, and adhesions all over my belly from my surgery. Carly is a godsend!!! I am so grateful for this journey to recovery I am on with her. I go twice a week to meet with her and every time I leave I feel a little lighter. My process is a slow one due to the severity of my pain in recovery and she is so gentle with me. She is absolutely brilliant in her field and the way she handles me with care while also working to fix all of my "broken" parts is truly remarkable. If I had not come to Universus and started with this work I would be in excruciating pain still. My pain has significantly diminished and I do still have a long way to go to get my muscle back and be pain free but I am so confident I will get there with Carly's help. I look forward to my days that I meet with Carly. I wish I could go every day. I am trying to share enough with anyone who doesn't know where to go for their situation without sharing too much of my own personal details. I will say that I had colon resection surgery where part of my colon was removed so I had very serious surgery and I did not know that PT was something I should be looking into. That was never shared with me by my surgeon. My surgeon was brilliant and if I needed anything again I would definitely see him to fix me but it was not shared with me what recovery would be like and how hard and how long it would be. It was only by way of my pain management doctor Dr. Ocasio (also brilliant and you can read my review on his high tech office) that I see a physical therapist. Having been my own advocate for my health and recovery and taking my life back I was able to get here. I hope anyone who is suffering or having a hard time will consider meeting with the Universus team to see if it's the right for you. I am endlessly grateful and will continue to follow through with them until I am back to my old self however long that takes. This is my very first experience with a physical therapist and I think I got very lucky from what I hear from other people in other facilities. Basically, I hit the PT jackpot. Don't be discouraged if you're not fixed overnight. I learned patience with everything that's happened to me that brought me here and you can't rush. I hope my review helps someone who is looking to be their own advocate for their health and get back to their normal routines.

In addition, i have Peter Walla Chan MD, great oncologist whom I mwt prior to my need for surgery. His office really made use of the automated system to find patients appointments on the fly. I usually have to make an appointment for early mornings but thise appointments are few, sometimes i get the automated texts from their office and I am able to get in when other patients cancel. Unfortunately NOT all doctors utilize yhis system. Another great cardiologist i met is Navid Ahmed MD, he is part of Catholic Health. He has been very thorough on making sure my health concerns are always addressed and his office also utilizes the text service to find early appointments on the fly if you sign up for it. I believe Dr Frasca has the system but i have never been texted by the mir system even when i have asked to be added to it. Regardless if you are looking for the finest personalized physicians, there is no doubt Catjolic health care is the place to go. Basically under one building all the doctors you ever need, making lab tests, yearly check up and ongoing medical follow ups seamless. I also like their app, which allows me to check on lab tests results, appointments and even communicate with each doctor personally. In the aame place theire is also routine in and out surgery as I had my comllex miniscus tear repair on the same day as the facility in also in the aame building.

Most of her staff, other than her receptionist who often has to work with patients, are part time rotating, mostly clueless high school or college students. As a result there is no real oversight to ensure you are doing all the exercises and doing them correctly. There was little progression in exercises - at least seemed that way to me as very few were added or modified. In addition, she is only there four days a week (Tuesday - Thursday and Saturday), if that, with limited hours especially on Saturday and it's often difficult to get two appointments in a week.
