Our waiter was super friendly, gave great recommendations, and checked on us throughout the meal. Even the food runner was attentive and welcoming. That kind of service makes a place stand out and is exactly why I'll definitely be coming back! For appetizers, we had the oxtail bao and the mussels. Baby, those mussels SLAPPED. So flavorful. For our mains, we had the whole fried snapper and the pan-seared salmon both chef's kiss! I've been wanting to check out Continent BK for a while and finally had the chance to visit. The restaurant is located inside Hotel Indigo, which gives it a nice, tucked-away feel. The space itself is pretty small--even with the upstairs seating area. It was actually smaller than I expected. Thankfully, it wasn't crowded at all when I went. I had originally considered hosting my birthday dinner here, and after seeing the layout, I'm glad I didn't. The space doesn't really lend itself to an intimate vibe for larger parties. It feels better suited for smaller groups or a casual dinner. Our host was very nice and offered helpful suggestions, which I appreciated. The menu is a bit limited, but the upside is that many of the appetizers and sides are shareable--and even some of the entrées can be split, which works well for a group. We ordered the oxtail lo mein, scotch bonnet fried chicken, yuca fries, and lobster fried rice. Overall, everything was tasty and enjoyable. The oxtail lo mein and lobster fried rice stood out the most for me in terms of flavor. The yuca fries were solid as well. The scotch bonnet fried chicken, however, didn't wow me. It wasn't bad at all, but there was nothing particularly memorable about it. It's actually one item I wouldn't mind seeing replaced with something a bit more unique. I didn't order any drinks this time around, but I might try a cocktail if I visit again. Continent Brooklyn was a dope spot. The food was good, but the highlight for me was definitely the mussels. The sauce was amazing. The snapper was good too, although most of the flavor came from the curry sauce rather than the fish itself. Once you dip the fish in the sauce, though, you're good to go. I'm usually not a salmon fan, but the salmon was actually really good. The mac and cheese was cheesy and had great flavor as well. I had a rum punch. The drinks were on the smaller side, but it packed a punch. They were strong while still tasting like juice, so they definitely sneak up on you. The atmosphere was nice and mellow, the decor looked great, and the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and accommodating from the hostess and bartenders to the waitress and manager. Carribbean fusion resturant tucked away inside of Hotel Indigob in Williamsburg. It is nicely decorated and had a few patrons when we arrived. There was a party being held in the next room so it was a bit louder than i would think is the norm...I was excited to taste the flavors of the caribbean however our dishes fell short. We ordered the peppered shrimp with coco bread...the shrimp was ok, no heat to it in spice nor temperature. The sauce was cool something that would pair well with mussels. The co co bread was completely soggy..I would of loved if it was served outside the sauce and more crunchy. The salmon with calaloo gnocchi was ok as well..also lacking salt n pepper....the sauce for this dish did not stand out either. Celebrated a birthday tonight with my sisters. We had a great time! This was my second time coming and I enjoyed both times. The place is small but the ambiance is great! The music is always on point and the server was super friendly and attentive. The food was as good as the time before but for some reason it cost a bit more than last time. I was not a big fan of what seemed like a price increase. For starters, we had the Tamarind Wings, Pepper Prawns and Shrimp Mandu. All were super good! For entrees, we had two Scotch Bonnet Fried Chickens and Lobster Burger. The chicken was really good and still good the next day. It was a good enough portion that I was able to take some home and eat for lunch the next day. I didn't try the Lobster Burger but the only comment heard was that the two patties were a bit too much. For sides, we had the Three Cheese Mac and the Lobster Fried Rice. The fried rice came with an egg which we asked to have fried. Both the rice and Mac and cheese were so well cooked. Yummy! As a complimentary treat we had the Mango Passionfruit Mousse and a round of shots for the birthday girl. I didn't love the mousse but did give it a try. I'm already counting down the days until I go back! My twin and I came here to celebrate our birthday, and we had a TIME! Continent Brooklyn is located inside Hotel Indigo. The decor is stylish, modern, and gives grown and elevated vibes as soon as you walk in. There is a mix of seating options and a bar area, plus a live DJ that kept the energy fun without feeling too loud. We were seated in the back, which gave us a more intimate dining experience while still letting us enjoy the atmosphere. Service was attentive, friendly, and everyone seemed to know the menu well. Now the food... amazing. The menu blends Caribbean and Asian flavors. Everything we ordered was seasoned well and flavorful. The fish stole the show! Moist, perfectly cooked, and Instagrammable. The drinks were also strong and well-made. I ordered the rum punch and it tasted just as good as it looked. This is the perfect spot for celebrations, date nights, small group dinners, or just a nice night out when you want good food and a good atmosphere. Loved it! The restaurant is located on the main floor of the hotel, which is pretty cool. When we arrived, the hostess was nonexistent for about 10 minutes. After we were seated, our waiter also took a little while, but since it was a Saturday, we understood. The music was good, just pretty loud, so we found ourselves repeating things during conversation. The menu was detailed, the drink were tasty, and the food was delicious. Portions are on the smaller side, so if you have a big appetite, you might want to order extra. The oxtail lo mein was different but so delicious--I could've easily had two orders. I tried my brother's oxtail fried rice and that was yummy too. I definitely plan on going back to try more items from the menu. This was my second time at the continent and had another great time. I think this restaurant is perfect for birthday dinners as it feels elevated but the price point isn't too high. While I was waiting for my friends I got a passion fruit margarita at the bar and it was well mixed. I also asked the bartender what gluten free options they had on the menu and he told me only the salad. However, once we sat down, I asked the waitress and she listed a bunch of options and accommodations. So I'm not exactly sure of their gluten free options. My celiac isn't as severe as others and we were sharing so I only had small portions and didn't experience any reactions. However, if you have a more severe case I would probably air on the side of caution and only get the salad. So of the food that the waitress said I could have, we ordered the mussels, lobster fried rice and the salad. My favorite was actually the salad because it was so fresh and had avocado in it. My second were the mussels which were very tasty. My least favorite was the lobster fried rice as it was a bit mushy and salty. In terms of the atmosphere, it is a very well decorated restaurant with ample space and two floors. They appear to have an outdoor space as well for the warmer months. The waitress was very friendly and even brought my friend a free birthday dessert. It's also in a great location in Williamsburg near other bars and restaurants. After an amazing day at The Black Girl Art Show, I stopped by The Continent Brooklyn since it was close by and already on my "Want To Go" list--and I'm glad I did. The ambience is a whole vibe. Stylish, energetic, and just the right kind of scene to slide from day into night without missing a beat. Now let's talk food. The lamb chops were delicious, seasoned just right and cooked perfectly. The oysters? Amazing. Fresh, flavorful, no notes. And the salad... listen ... robust, fresh, and yes--juicy. I know that's not the usual word for a salad, but that one earned it. I also tasted some of the snapper my friend had and yeah... I'll definitely be back because of that alone. Service was attentive and friendly, which always makes a difference. I needed somewhere to dine for my birthday last minute. I found this gem and was glad that I did. The ambiance was beautiful dimly lit and such a nice vibe when I walking in. Food: I ordered their Salmon & Yucca Fries and EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. Salmon fresh seasonings and garnishes were so GOOD. not over powering but amazing. I also ordered a Lychee Martini and it was great as well. Service: All the staff including my my waiter Jesus were phenomenal , attentive and so kind. Came here celebrating finding a new place. It's inside the Indigo Hotel so it's a little hard to find. When you do, it's worth it. This is a romantic and intimate space, with soft Afro House and Ampiano music throbbing softly in the background. The seating is velvety plush with a soft, warm color palette. The menu isn't extensive but thoughtfully curated. We started with the Continent Rum Punch and a blend of South African whites. Both were phenomenal. Our appetizers were the Tamarind Wings and Shrimp Manu dumplings. Both were impeccable, delicious and subtle. Not very spicy, but tasty nonetheless. We shared the Escovich Lobster and Lobster Fried Rice. Both amazing and sophisticatedly plated. And Karen, our server was on point in every way, even down to surprising us with a complimentary dessert! The price is towards the higher end but it's well worth it. Thank God For Yelp! I looked up restaurants on Yelp within the area that I was in. I stumbled upon Continent Brooklyn. Little did I know this was a restaurant located inside of Hotel Indigo Williamsburg Brooklyn. The hotel is very nice & modern. Though I didn't have reservations to the hotel I was able to dine at the restaurant. Staff directed me inside where I was greeted with a warm, classy, romantic ambiance. The place was dimly lit. Playing all good jams of R&B music. The waiter was very attentive. Brought my friend & I water & took our orders promptly. I ordered the lamb cops with Mac n cheese. Those were the best Lamb chops that I've had ANYWHERE. They were so tender & flavorful. As though they were made on a grill. It was delicious. The Mac n cheese was also good and cheesy. Happy hour turned into a delicious dinner! We set our sights on Aliya for happy hour but it was closed for a private event. The hostess recommended we checkout Continent, the restaurant also located in the hotel. Luckily, there were empty seats at the bar so we could be served right away. The bartender made great drink and food recommendations based on our preferences. The Oaxacan Gyal cocktail was so refreshing and not too sweet. We decided to share a few menu items as we weren't too hungry. To start, we got the Yard Man Oysters which were quite an interesting dish. They weren't bad but there were too many flavors going on at once. The Brussels sprouts were absolutely fantastic and the prawns were delicious but the portion was quite small. The restaurant is pretty large and very nicely decorated and they offer outdoor dining. I highly recommend Continent Brooklyn for dinner and/or drinks for great food and wonderful service! read more

I was staying at the Indigo Hotel for my birthday. The restaurant is located in the hotel and I wanted to try it since the menu looked so good. I came for dinner on Sunday night after spending the day at the spa. I was starving and ready to eat. I didn't get a drink just a Coke. Their drink selection did look good though. I got yuca fries for my appetizer to hold me over. They were so crispy and good. For dinner, I really wanted to try the Oxtail Lo Mein which was delicious. I'm coming back just for that. We also ordered the snapper and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was too cheesy for me but it wasn't bad. I got a complimentary cheesecake for my birthday. I don't really like cheesecake but I tried it. During the middle of our meal, our server's shift ended so we were introduced to a new server. She was very friendly. We had the salmon and the fried chicken with mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was a disappointment no cheese no flavor the chicken was burnt and dry. The salmon was very good. The oxtail was underwhelming too salty not enough flavor. The lychee was delicious. The kale salad was amazing. The service was excellent our waiter wasn't that good but the staff on a whole was great. I guess it all depends on who is the chef that night because my cousin was here last week and stated everything was good. Yes yes and yes!! I came here with friends on a Sunday evening. Its kinda like a speakeasy to Hotel Indigo. There is no signage or entrance from the outside, you must go into the hotel. Decor is beautiful a very grown and sexy vibe. It's a very comfortable environment with plenty of seating. Everything I had was delicious! Started with the Pepper pawns, which was full flavor and the toasted coco bread delish!!! For my main the lamb shank was sooo tender, succulent, well seasoned A+. I loved Continent Brooklyn. If I can give it 10 stars I would, but Yelp only allows five. They had amazing service, especially for a busy day like New Year's Eve. The crowd wasn't exactly what I expected, but the crowd wasn't horrible. It's just that it was much younger than I assumed for New Year's Eve. The restaurant is situated inside of a hotel so it may be a little hard to find but once you find it as well worth it. The host was kind and also offered to check our coats in their coat check which was a good addition to your reservation because sometimes when you're dressed nice you don't really want to hang your coat on the back of your chair or have it sitting with you at dinner. There was a prefix menu for New Year's Eve dinner service so there was limited options versus their full menu. However, the prefix was still very good. The prefix allowed for a welcome drink, a bottle of champagne for toasting, an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. I can't remember the cocktail I had as my welcome drink however it was really good. We chose appetizers and entrées so we could have a variety. I do not eat oysters, but my date seemed to really love them. The wings were really good well seasoned well sauced and cooked well. I had the snapper and the gravy and vegetables were very tasty. The snapper itself could've used a pinch more of something. I don't know what it was but it just needed a dash of something. My date had the lamb chop entrée, and I tasted it. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection. The meat was very tender and seasoned well. Service was exceptional and our server did an amazing job. My only critique is I think it should be a plain fried rice, or lo mein or just plain rice and peas offering . Its hard take older folks there to celebrate.. some dont eat meat .. the fish is good but most of the good sides have oxtail in them.just suggestion.. The food, the service, the ambiance all absolutely amazing. We arrived early and got seated immediately, the hostess was polite and professional, so we were happy upon entry. Once seated we were greeted quickly by our waiter who was super informative about the menu. We went with the oxtail bal and oysters for appetizers and were happy with our choices! The boa buns were soft and balanced the flavors of the oxtail perfectly. The oysters were topped with callalo and I didn't know what to expect with that combo but I was pleasantly surprised. For entrees we had the fried lobster and the oxtail low mein. The lobster was worth every penny, it was cooked well and so was the ackee and saltfish we gave it a 10/10. The oxtail was a little salty but the noodles were cooked to perfection. The star of the show were for sure the drinks. The bartender needs a raise cause each and every drink we got was a winner. I walked on the restaurant and floated out. We order two drinks each and received complimentary champagne since we were celebrating our anniversary and the drinks got the job done. They need to make that deal standard cause that food was really really good. I had the lamb chops to start and baaaaaby I'm so mad I couldn't suck the marrow out that thing (they lucky I was out in public lol). They were so good. And they gave you 3. For my main entree I had the salmon. It had some white sauce on it which was very tasty. The lamb chops tasted better than the salmon.
