Beautiful ambiance. Very modern and upscale. Gorgeous space. Dillan was our server and was very helpful to us when we asked questions about the menu. We started with sparkling water. And had the tamarind wings along with the steamed mussels that came in this delicious sauce that I asked to take home after I was done tearing up the mussels. Wings were crispy and had nice flavors to them. For our entrees my girlfriend ordered the Rasta Pasta that was delightful and I ordered the lobster burger. It came with 2 patties and lobster on top with yuca fries. So worthy of the calories. I wasn't able to finish the entire thing so brought half home for lunch the next day. Love this place. Neatly located on first floor of Indigo Hotel. This place is dimly lit, "happy" urban music permeating the air at a good decibel, wrapped in a minimalistic yet modern decor. There is an outdoor patio that I guess is open during summer months. Service was A1, hostess, waitress, and bus boy all scored high mark. I have not a bad word to say about their service. I really enjoyed this spot!! My friend kept her bday even there and it was popping. The salt fish fritters was good the scotch chicken and waffles was good as well. The DJ was playing all the hits. I've heard people say this restaurant is a hit or miss, and I see why. However, I definitely have plans to go back. This is a place where you lnow what to order and you'll have a solid experience. I ordered: suya lamb chops, mac & cheese, curry shrimp, brussels, dusse cocktail, a cosmo like martini, and maybe something else. I'll return for the mac & cheese, brussels, shrimp dish, and that dusse cocktail. I don't even like brown liquor, and that drink was phenomenal. The issue came when my lamb chops were undercooked twice. After the 2nd time, I refused a third chance for them to mess it up. I wasn't too disappointed because the flavor didn't taste that good to begin with so ‍. Service was fine, my waitress was super friendly, but it was slow because she had so many tables. Like many I came across Continent Brooklyn on social media with reels raving about the restaurant's innovative take on fusion of Caribbean, African and Asian cuisine. The content of the menu is indeed alchemic with offerings like Oxtail Bao and Scotch Bonnet Fried Chicken with East African kachumbari salad! The restaurant itself is nestled into Hotel Indigo and not hard to find passed the elevator bank inside. I had a Sunday, 5pm reservation (when the restaurant "opens"); I was hoping to skip a heavy dinner crowd but was surprised to find the main floor seating area completely packed. Continent Brooklyn pegs itself as upscale dining but nothing about the ambiance mirrors that. The decibel of the music and speakers (which are directly facing the seated dining area) was OBSCENE! It is OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD for guests desiring to enjoy a meal! The music selection was ok BUT I had to put in my earphones for noise-canceling support. The acoustics of the restaurant are not suited for the volume and dinner on a Sunday at 5pm lends itself to a more mellow vibe. AMBIANCE 4/10. I ordered the Shrimp Mandu and Escovitch Lobster - FOOD 6/10 - the shrimp appetizer is a bit smaller than it should be but very flavorful; the lobster (though a unique take with ackee and saltfish) was disappointingly dry! I've actually never had dry lobster in my life before but perhaps something about the deep frying of it stripped the moisture to almost uneatable. I did enjoy the Festival dumplings that accompanied the lobster though. SERVICE 5/10 - I ordered my meal at 5:10pm and received my appetizer at 6:05pm, almost immediately followed by my entree. The staff is very friendly but not timely nor attentive to details. After getting through the ackee and saltfish on my dry lobster, I wrestled it practically to finish it all. Even basic restaurants offer wet naps or lemon and hot water to cleanse your hands after handling shellfish but not this "upscale" jaunt! I quickly asked for the bill and unsurprised it automatically included gratuity of 20%--I would have tipped 15% in this case but I was so anxious to leave from the crippling volume of the music that I happily signed off on the bill and belted out of there! Truly thrilled to hear that they were opening a 2nd location (original in Atl). We booked reservations for a girls night out-dinner session. Great location, amazing decor, the music set dope vibes and the staff were very pleasant. The menu offered an array of Caribbean and Asian fusion dishes. My issue was the execution (great recipes but cooks need to QA dishes before sending out). The dishes lacked flavor. I do believe that this does not speak to Chef Scotleys work (he was not there that night) but more so of mass production. At this price point, I anticipated a more polished result from the description of the dishes especially the Escovitch Lobster (needed more pickled peppers/onions and a sauce) and the oxtail Bao (very dry and needed more Caribbean spices). The best item was the pepper prawns. I will revisit in a few months to provide an update. read more

Well let's start by saying, this restaurant is for grown and sexy individuals. The ambiance is impeccable, the vibe is amazing. My family and went to this restaurant last week for my brothers birthday, the staff were very friendly and helpful, we were escorted to our beautiful table and we enjoyed the experience from the beginning to the end. The drinks were delicious, the appetizers were out of this world, I had the baked oysters with duck bacon, my first time having duck bacon soooo good!! I then had the fried snapper with red curry and rice, so tasty the food was very seasoned. So delicious, we had an amazing time. There is also an in-house DJ who were playing some really nice tunes. I was soo skeptical at first, as I previously went to Aliya restaurant in the same hotel & was disappointed. But, back to Continent! Food- First of all, you will be spending your coins. The appetizers/starters were in the $20 range while the entrees were $30+ (emphasis on the plus e.g. snapper ~$50, lobster ~$70, lamb ~40). So we opted for a mix of the cheaper dishes- fried chicken with salad, lamb chop starter, 4 cheese mac&cheese, and tamarind wings. All delicious except the wings (tasted more soy than tamarind). But everything else was delic & a great portion size. The space was beautiful and had great large windows which shone in a lot of natural light. While I was sitting on the plush, grey velvet chairs I could see the outdoor seating which separated the street & gave you a little people watching. Servers don't rush you & are nice, but didn't seem to have the best understanding of the menu. Gave a pass since it's relatively new. Our food took about 45 minutes to come out, which was a bit excessive. When it finally arrived, it was hit or miss--the steak was good, but the lobster and wings were not good. I receive my wings cold .The snapper was just okay. Given the day, maybe the kitchen was just off, but they definitely weren't on point. Service was another issue. Our waiter wasn't attentive, which made the long wait feel even worse. To top it off, they added gratuity to the check for two people???? I hate to say this but this was so bad. I had wanted to check it out once I heard about the concept and menu. But I was really worried cos so often fusion dishes end up muddled and unfocused and that's exactly what happened. We had the tamarind wings, the suya lamb chops, the fried whole snapper and the oxtail Lo mein. All recommended dishes by our server. Service was warm and timely. The space is nice even though the chairs and tables are already showing wear. It was a little too cold for me, air on high blast but that could be just me. The music selection was definitely a millenials playlist - a little too loud for dinner and conversation. But if you wanna be hyped before the club- then maybe that'll work for you. To the food: the tamarind sauce on the wings was good but the actual wings under the sauce tasted boiled and unseasoned. I pushed it away midway through the second one. The lamb didn't taste of suya spice and lacked salt - I was so disappointed after the first bite. The red snapper looked amazing and was close to being quite good if it wasn't for the heavy and cold red coconut curry sauce it was served with. I didn't touch the veggies served with the fish cos they were drowned in the sauce and a dish that could have had some brightness to go with the fried fish, just fell flat. Lastly was the oxtail lo mein. I had a bite and my co-diner had a bite and we left the plate untouched after that. We decided that it reminded us of when you just combine your fridge leftovers. When they noticed that we didn't eat it, they asked us if we wanted to take this to go, and we said No. There was no check in to see why we barely ate it. We decided not to tempt fate with dessert. Paid the $200 bill with 20% gratuity pre-included for our group of 2. We would have tipped 20% regardless cos our server was great- and not her fault but so unfortunate that the kitchen didn't deliver and there were absolutely no flavors that felt Caribbean in anything we had. I went here last minute for a date night. I initially was going to order takeout and head back to the room. After sitting at the bar and chatting with Rex I decided to stay. What caught my eye was the Lobster burger and the lychee love drink. I asked Rex what were his thoughts on the lobster Burger and he warned me that it also had beef if I didn't mind that and that it taste pretty good.. So I went back to read the menu and realized he was right. I asked Rex why call it a Lobster burger if it wasn't all made of lobster. I was really disappointed that it wasn't an all lobster burger as I have had it before and it was great. I decided to try the lobster/ Angus burger per Rex's suggestion. The burger was delicious and the casava fries were good as well. Rex came back to check if I liked the his suggestion to which I told him I did. I ordered a Lychee love which was made good. Not too strong and not too sweet but it was made by another tall male bartender. I just wanted to say the Rex made our experience 100% amazing. He made us laugh and made great suggestions and he entertained us with the way he made drinks. Excellent bartender hands down. Rex made us a shot which was savory. I even asked Rex about having my birthday there next year and he gave me some great advice. I will definitely be returning for another visit as long as Rex is there. read more

We had a reservation for 8p and didn't get seated until 9:20p. No apology or anything. Food was ok. Their Rasta pasta is not Rasta pasta, so beware. Their scotch bonnet chicken was not Scott bonnet at all, it was more like fried chicken with honey drizzled over it. I had high expectations for this place but was very disappointed. First time trying this place out, and I must admit it was not bad at all. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was on point too. Music was top tier. Service overall was good, until we received the bill. Are parties of three suppose to be charged an automatic gratitude of 20%? The server put this table as a party of 6 and I am still unsure as to why? That did not sit well with me, but little did he know he shorted himself of the actual amount we were planning to tip him. I genuinely believe he did not think we were going to tip and shorted himself of his actual service given. NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. I was going to ask for the manager, but it was my sister's birthday and didn't want to make a big deal about it but that didn't sit well with me. We decided to come to BK for date night after seeing a IG post and knowing their is a location in ATL. Continent did not disappoint. The service was great from the greeting of the hostess to our waiter and the mixologist. The decor is beautiful and not overdone. The food was delicious! Another family was finishing their dinner when they were exiting the gentleman said to make sure we try the fish and oxtails, which was already on my list of must try from the IG post. We were not disappointed at all. My partner had the whiskey ginger smash and I had the stush martini both cocktails were definitely made with precision and caring for quality ingredients. We started with the Continent Salad which was divine and the shrimp mandu (dumplings). The flavors were superb and again the ingredients on point. Entrees: I had the oxtail lo mein and my partner had the fried whole red snapper, again no complaints the taste was outstanding and just loved the entire experience. We went upstairs to the roof top after and was surprised to see a pool and cabanas at Hotel Indigo. A really wonderful evening, we are looking forward to returning the Continent BK but also checking out the ATL location the next time we are in town.
