What a neat little hidden gem, small cafe geared to good food and good service. Small place but worth the stop, we had lunch of burgers and fries. All hand made and excellent on a toasted bun. Folks next to us had cubed steak with mashed potatoes w/dark rich gravy and greens. Said it was excellent, great to hear. There's a lot of locals here, that says a lot for sure. Enjoy the tip, enjoy their food. BTW they have limited hours so check their daily schedule.....something like breakfast to mid-afternoon. read more

Nostalgic lunch location with a 97.5 health grade. We had lunch here today. A club sandwich with fries, a chicken salad sandwich with fries and a bowl of chicken soup. Very basic orders of diner food and it was good. The daily special was fried flounder and looked really good. We want to come back for breakfast. read more

I've eaten here several times when I'm in town. I've had spaghetti, a club, and a country-fried steak. All was delicious. It's a cute little family owned and operated place. It kind of reminds me of a diner that would be in Mayberry! Everyone seemed to know each other. Very welcoming and laid back atmosphere. I've come here twice now, both times after going to the DMV! The environment is quiet and the Resturant is like a little cafe cabin in the woods! The service is quick and the food is yummy! The prices are very in inexpensive, but the food quality is great! I think for my whole meal it's was like $7.50, that's cheaper than anything you'd get at a fast food resturant that is handmade! Old school "lunch counter" / dinner. Done right. Have to look twice to find it. Locals know it best for thier lunches, but it's become my go to place for a very fast and personable breakfast. Owner (s)? Are a mother daughter team, by fourth time in, they knew my order. If I had to describe it best, I'd say consistent, delicious, with a bit (but not too much) southern charm. There is a more popular spot nearby which is great, but writing this took twice as long as my breakfast. And I'll be out of here for less than $5. read more

Stopped in to try breakfast this morning and should have listened to my intuition and turned around!! The antique drab diner look didn't bother me, however, the awkward look from the waitress/cook and her 3 customers made me feel extremely uncomfortable!! But I decided to give it a try anyway, BIG MISTAKE!!! Looks like the only thing new in the last 25 years on their one page menu were the prices. They serve typical eggs, bacon, grits and pancakes...I ordered a omelet and grits but the eggs were undercooked/runny and the grits cold. Waste of my time and $10 my advice grab an egg McMuffin..... Very fun little diner. Good is about what you would expect for an old fashion diner. Prices are reasonable and fair for the food quality. The staff was very friendly. The only two drawbacks are the short hours and it's near a bus stop. I will certainly be back! read more

This is a pretty good place. One of Fayetteville's hidden restaurants. Tasty omelettes "home cooked", better then Waffle House. Cheap and with decent portions. It is in sort of an area that looks a little sketchy but it's really not. read more

Continental Cafe is basically a small diner, complete with booths and a 'bar', friendly wait staff and excellent food. It has regular menu items like burgers, and various sandwiches, and the daily specials are recurring and different each day. What made this place 5/5 for me was their club sandwich- They made the best one I have ever had, easily beating out ones that costs 2 or 3 times as much in different restaurants. My only gripe is that they don't open on the weekends, and then only from 7 am to 2:30 pm read more

'Pig pickin' cake. The best cake ever. You might know it as pineapple cake. Not pineapple upside down cake. No, this is lovely light white cake with bits of pineapple blended throughout. Then Mama layers on this to-die-for cool whip frosting that contains tiny bits of mandarin orange. Melts in your mouth. In fact, I call ahead to see if the cake flavor of the day is 'pig picking.' No? We still go because Mama's other cakes ain't so bad either. And then there is the Friday flounder which is as good as any of the seafood restaurants serve. French fries always hot and yummy. And, finally, you can't go wrong with anything else on the menu. Served by Mama's two grown-up daughters. Unpretentious. Just plain good. My kind of place. read more
