Even if the table has not been cleaned off yet, once you sit, they will come and clean it off/ wipe it down. Once seared, we were quickly greeted and got our drinks. Our waitress came back about 10 mins later to get our order and the food came out about 15 mins later. The omelette was great and flavorful! Toast was buttery. Grits were good ol plain butter and salt grits. No heavy cream, no cheese, just basic. Hard to find basic grits these days, and these were good. Seems like a place for regulars. I'm from Indiana visiting a friend in Fayetteville. I was searching YELP for a good breakfast place and found Lindy's Restaurant. Lindy's is a place you'd drive past if you didn't know about all the great reviews they have. I ordered the cheese omelette and it came with home fries and a toasted biscuit. WOW....it was great. The coffee was the best I've had in years. Tracey was my waitress. She was wonderful and made my dining experience even better. Sure wish I lived in Fayetteville. I'd be here a lot. read more

Lindy is one of the best breakfast joints in Fayetteville. They are not only just a restaurant for breakfast but they have some dinner meals that are absolutely delicious. Lindy's has been around for a long time and it gives off the vibe of an old 50s style drive-in restaurant. I remember going to Lindy's in the morning time and having breakfast with my parents before school. Often, you will find the owner talking to customers as if they were old friends or family members. The rest of the staff is just as personable and will do everything they can to make sure that you have a delicious meal and a pleasant experience. I gave Lindy's two thumbs up and 4 1/2 stars because nobody's perfect. If you're in the mood for American cuisine, then this is the destination for you. My family and I, including my mother-in-law and four children, stopped by after Mass and had a fantastic experience. Despite arriving for brunch after 11 AM, we were seated immediately, which was a pleasant surprise. Our waitress was incredible, handling multiple tables effortlessly, keeping drinks refilled, and offering great recommendations. Despite the small seating area, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was perfectly cooked. My kids loved the pancakes, French toast, and a double cheeseburger with fries. My mother-in-law and I had home fries with onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms, which were absolutely to die for. I had over-medium eggs with corned beef hash, as recommended by our waitress, who suggested getting it well done, and it was a great choice. Great little spot for breakfast. It is home cooked but some of the ingredients aren't fresh. So if that bothers you this isn't your place. When we came it was busy so be prepared for a little wait. I have also eaten the daily special for Tuesday, did not much enjoy the meatloaf, but enjoyed the pork chops and lima beans and yams. I have been in Fayetteville for almost 4 years now. My elderly dad and I try new places all the time but 3 1/2 years ago we went to Lindy's for the first time and this is the #1 spot for a good, hardy, handmade meal. Lindy's is our normal Breakfast stop. Breakfast (and other meals) is always spot on. There are several options but regardless what you try it is always good. Now let me quickly swivel to the COFFEE... OMG!! Best coffee ever!!!! They do not use the standard coffee like other breakfast places. No Folgers, Maxwell house or generic coffee here. They order their coffee from a small business in NC. It is addicting. Even the decaf version is spot on. The staff and owner at Lindy's are always super nice and on top of it. We have been there several times and had to wait on a seat because they are always busy but that never stops the excellent service and food you receive. Anyone that does not give Lindy's Restaurant a 5 Star review should not go there. They deserve to be acknowledged for their excellence. read more

Looking for a local place to have a breakfast with mom before heading back to Florida. This place fit the bill! In an old building that I was told used to be a drive in. It looked like it from the parking. It is a 'seat yourself' place so grab what's open. It was busy but the tables turned quick. Our server was busy but efficient. Like everyone else post COVID it is hard to get folks to give up the government checks and come back to work so they were stretched. After looking over the menu I landed on a western omelette. I was in the mood for spicey so I added jalapeños. It was delicious! Cooked perfectly with so much flavor. Grits were good as well. Deb had some pancakes which she said were some of the best she has had. Mom and Mike opted for lunch and both got chopped steak with gravy and onions. I tried it and it was really good. Mom agreed ! I love breakfast food, and eggs are my favorite food. I'm also a creature of habit, and when I find something I like, I stick with it. That being said, I've been coming here for years and I don't even have to order, the food and drink is second nature. My order is: 2 eggs scrambled w/ cheese, double order of bacon extra crispy, home-fried-potatoes, and toast, with water and on caffeine headache days, a diet Pepsi. Not once have I been let down on the quality or service here. At first, the building was old and scary, and I avoided the place, however after a friend forced me to me to go for a work-lunch once, I was hooked. A very mixed crowd of people come, and the best part is seeing families and the grand-parents that show up religiously. You can hear the customers and staff talking about days-gone-by, and catching up on the new. It's very relaxed, no frills, and come as-you-are. This is the closest a restaurant can get to Toby Keith's "I love this bar" song. The scrambled eggs are the absolute best. Everywhere else serves over-cooked or dry scrambled eggs, but here they are always a perfectly well-cooked, but buttery and soft texture. The home-fried-potatoes are also a hit. They are soft and tender like boiled potatoes, but browned and crispy on the outside, for the perfect texture. Don't be scared by my bacon, I ask them to make it so crispy that it crumbles just from looking at it, and they deliver, without burning it. Only Lindy's and a select few waffle houses can meet my bacon standards. The toast.. well it's toast is just toast, but it's good. You would be surprised at how many places can't make toast right, but Lindy's has it down too. I can see how people may be off-put by the outside, but once you make it in, and realize how good the food, service, atmosphere, and even price is, you'll just think of it as part of the charm. Places like this are becoming harder and harder to find, and I respect that they fought like hell to make it through the pandemic, and it's nice to see pretty much the same staff there today. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Lindy's is a little hole in the wall restaurant. Your little average diner. The waitresses greet you as soon as you come in and you seat yourself for the most part. My husband got an omelette and it was not like your typical omelette where the ingredients sit inside the egg. The ingredients were mixed with the egg. Which is fine but not what I was expecting. My husband said it tasted good. He also had the grits instead of hash browns and said they were flavorless. You will need to add salt and pepper. I wanted lunch so I got the Reuben with fries. Their fries were comparable to Wendy's fries but not as good. They are not salted. The Rueben wasn't bad. Could be better though. I got it on Rye bread. It was very thin. You could see the sauce coming through. I also wish the meat wasn't as tough... or maybe sliced a bit thinner. I had to really bite hard or else my meat would get pulled out all over the plate and mess up the sandwich. When you've had a Rueben from Slymans or Chicago it Manhattan deli in CLE you cant help but compare. I would recommend getting the sauce on the side. I would come back again and try their breakfast. I'm hoping maybe their bread and pickle was sliced thin because of hurricane Florence. I did have one of the last 2 orders of rye bread that day. read more

My daughter and I were at Steinmart across the street shopping for Black Friday today and we were starving. We were headed to Skibo in search of food, when I looked over and saw this place and told my daughter I was going to try it one day. So she pulled in. Today it was then. Service: 5 stars - The people in there are REALLY nice we had the grandbaby so we talked with a couple of waitresses that came by the table to see the baby and all were very nice and friendly. They kept the drinks re-filled and were very attentive. The food was a little slow but I am happy to wait for a meal that is made well. I guess what I am saying is this is NOT FAST FOOD, so if you are in a hurry you might be late. The FOOD: 5 STARS!!! - It was 11 so I decided on lunch and the daughter got breakfast so we could try both. She went with pancakes and bacon and I went for the Country steak which is one of the Friday daily specials. I have attached fotos of both meals. I enjoyed it it was hot, fresh and tasty. I was not thrilled with rice, so the waitress volunteered mashed potatoes, I chose green beans and fried squash as the side items. It was very good. The daughter also liked it. It was a very nice meal for under $7 I would absolutely go back, in fact I cannot wait to take the husband. The people near us were eating breakfast in fact one person had an omlett that looked good, another had a breakfast sandwich of some sort and another had a BLT. Everything looked good and the portions were nice. The Atmosphere: 3 STARS - Mostly loyal regulars I dare say they all know each other by name. One lady(customer) told us to just sit anywhere when we walked in. Not at all fancy reminds me of an old truck stop named Stacy's that i LOVED in Kansas when we were stationed there. This is a real local diner. Their food is good and well priced. We tried the rueben, they used pastrami and also we tried the southern omlette with grits biscuit and side of smoked sausage. The smoked sausage was good, tasted like breakfast sausage that had been smoked, it may have been a specialty. French fries were not the best, I would recommend a different side. Service was good, dining room is small but food came out very quickly. I will come back to explore the menu some more. read more
