A week later, I picked up the machine and immediately made a few observations: the feet climbed very well, the machine is very smooth, but the needle bar was now striking the walking foot when I lift the foot and rotate the machine. I was skeptical and spoke briefly with the technician who fixed the machine. He insisted the machine was adjusted correctly. I was still skeptical, but took the machine home to work with it for awhile. I had the same problem at home: the needle bar strikes the walking foot when the foot is lifted. This made it difficult to pull the bobbin thread from underneath the machine after I thread the needle. I sent a photo and video of the machine to the customer service division of the manufacturer (Sailrite), who replied that the needle bar is too low and that bar should never collide with the walking foot at any point in the rotation. So I took the machine back to Southwest Sewing and explained the problem again. A second technician told me the machine was correctly adjusted. So I was stuck between conflicting advice from two technicians: one from Southwest Sewing who insists the machine is correctly adjusted and a second from the manufacturer who insists the needle bar and the walking foot should never collide. After some thought, I decided to trust the manufacturer. I'm searching for another repair place.

Paid just under $2k for both items when i was expecting to spend $3-$4K. Mr. Lara (the dad) was soo nice that he offered to have it delivered the same day despite it being closing time and didnt charge me for delivery. My entire experience from the minute I walked in to the delivery was PHENOMENAL. They even called me a couple days later to make sure there werent any issues during the delivery or with the appliances. I will continue to send all my friends and loved ones to Laras Appliances.
