I signed my daughter up for 10 lessons in late September shortly after she received her driving permit. The first available lesson wasn't for 5 weeks so that put us in early November. I was only able to schedule 2 lessons and you have a mandated 2 week gap in between for practice (which I understand) but once she completed her first lesson it took about a day to allow me to schedule her 3rd appointment and the first available was a month later. From start to finish, I estimated that it would take 10 months to complete the lessons. The AAA rep I spoke with to cancel was very helpful but it seems that AAA management is aware of these issues and from the length of time people have provided feedback on this, not much is being done.

I've sent four people to this driving school most recently, my wife. They pushed this idiotic "push…read morepull steering" which is counterintuitive and quite honestly dangerous to go out on the street practicing. When I called them to complain, my only option was to leave a message for somebody that may or may not get back to me or canceled so we canceled after two lessons. They come right to your door, on time, friendly instructors - every single one of them. I honestly don't know how they find people with such great attitudes. My daughter gets a little apprehensive about new situations so everyone made her really comfortable. They said she did great. So! Because of that, we bought three more classes (extra six hours of experience). The first new lesson, she got over her fear of the freeway and did really well. She was so scared when it's her parents but with an instructor, she got over that. The second new lesson? This was the issue and absolutely kudos to Drivers Ed Direct. So, she gets panic attacks sometimes. It used to be really bad where she would miss school and it was almost daily and she hated it but she couldn't get through them, it was a rough year at the time. But, we got them mostly under control but for whatever reason... she had one about 15 minutes before her instructor showed up. I couldn't get her out of it (it's awful to see, as a parent), she was trying but she couldn't breath, short of breath. I greeted the instructor and said I have to deal with 'something' first and he was so patient, when he didn't need to be, as we were on the clock. She was in no shape to drive, it was bad... so I told him that, unfortunately, we had to cancel but we'd just eat the costs, no probably at all. He was totally amazing, my God... I was so stressed and he was like, "Totally no worries, I live close, it's okay." Nicest guy, per usual with them. The day after, I just emailed them to just apologize for that and I didn't even bring-up the cost or anything because, yeah, I should be on the hook for that, it's not their problem. But, guess what. They said it's okay and didn't even charge anything! They are going to reschedule it! I had to come on here immediately and pass that along because they absolutely didn't have to do that -- at all. But that's who they are - they care.

On Friday, September 5, I received a call from a male representative confirming his appointment for Saturday, September 6. A few minutes later, the same individual called again to confirm the appointment for Sunday, September 7. He asked if the Sunday lesson could be moved to a later time, but I informed him that was not possible. He assured me that the lesson would remain at the originally scheduled time. Approximately an hour later, I received a voicemail from a woman stating that the Sunday lesson would need to be rescheduled due to a conflict. I immediately called back and spoke with the same male representative that confirmed my appointment earlier. I explained that I could not reschedule and that the lesson needed to remain as planned. He responded "fine" and then disconnected the call. When I called back to ask if he had hung up on me, he ended the call again. On a third attempt, I requested the manager's name and email address, and he hung up a third time. This behavior is highly unprofessional and unacceptable, particularly from a company that requires customers to pay over $600 for driving lessons.Hanging up on a customer multiple times, instead of addressing a legitimate concern, reflects very poorly on the business. I am extremely dissatisfied with the treatment I received from your male employee, at 2:48 pm today, and want manager (Ariel) to be aware of this incident. If this is representative of how customer service issues are handled, I would strongly caution others before choosing this company for driving instruction.

As a mom I appreciated the email reminders of her scheduled lessons. My favorite aspect was the day of her actual driving test at the DMV they took her, she used their car and they brought her home. Most importantly she PASSED and is now a licensed driver!
