I feel that it is important to notify your customers about refund policies from the initial start not after purchase. I had called today asking to get a refund for a class and the first person I spoke to, told me he wasn't sure they issued refunds and that it wasn't something that they bring up. Which was surprising. It is a customers right to know about these things as it helps guarantee them further reassurance in their purchase. That is when he told me to wait and I was transferred to a woman whom ended up issuing me my refund but had told me that they would deduct a $15 processing fee. I know other driving schools do not implement this method and would surely give you the full amount back. Please be warned ahead of time before purchasing a session with them, I would hate to imagine someone else going through the same thing. The first time we did a driving class, the guy was super creepy so much so my daughter asked them never to send the guy back. Today, we were supposed to have the 2nd driving lesson, and they never showed up and then called to cancel after they had already not shown up. Then they refused to return the money and said they had no room on their schedule until August 30th. They are very unprofessional and very inconvenient. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. read more

We paid for what appears to casual driving around with no actual instruction and learning. The two instructors were giving conflicting information; one of them was speaking so ineligibly so that lessons was a waste. They didn't teach my daughter any of the essentials elements that will be on the test. But they chatted a lot and shared about their personal life and other jobs they do... not what we paid for!! When I called to discuss the situation and why my daughter was so poorly prepared, I was told they don't guarantee anything and they asked me what I have taught my daughter!! my experience with this driving school has been good. they taught me what i had to know and i succeeded on the road test first try due to the instructor that was teaching me beforehand. The only complaint i have is that scheduling was confusing at times, thats why its not 5 stars. but overall good experience. read more

We were in need of a driving school for our son to complete his drivers training so I started asking around. Most people had used Right Way and had great things to say. I was thoroughly impressed with our experience. The girls on the phone were very kind and communicative by explaining things and giving us reminder calls. My son had 2 drivers for his 3 lessons; Dave and Andre. Both showed up on time, introduced themselves and explained what they would be doing and asked if we had any questions. I made an appointment for my son to take driving classes. We made it over the phone. A week later my son got his first job and he wanted to be able to be available on the weekend for work so we try to reschedule. Unfortunately they had nothing available for over 2 weeks. I told Anna that we would need to find a different school and to please credit my card for a refund. Our class was scheduled a week in advance and I was giving them a weeks notice of cancellation. They told me they would be glad to cancel but they would not give me a refund because they don't give refunds. If you cancel no matter if it's a week or more ahead of time, they will NOT give you a refund! Let me say that again because they will not tell you this when you make your appointment. ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY, THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY. Anna told me that when you have your first class is when they tell you they don't offer refunds. My response to her was, if I haven't got to the first class yet to know that you don't offer refunds, how would I know when I paid you for the first class weeks in advance that you don't offer refunds if I need to cancel? I called again to speak to Meredith, she is the owner apparently. I was told should call me right back. Yes you guessed it, she never called me back. And when I called again this morning, she is just not available. Yes apparently she's not in today. Like yes I'm sure she's not there... After speaking with a multitude of my friends, which I wish I had done before I ever did any kind of business with this company, they have all told me many horror stories about this driving school. My advice to you is to stay away. As many of the other people on here have said, drivers direct is the way to go. I am about to write them a review so go there to see what I have to say. Absolutely amazing group of people. Can't recommend them better. Right Way... if you're reading this, you're doing business the "wrong way"... I do not recommend, although I did learn to drive, all 3 of my drivers made me feel anxious and uncomfortable. I was told different information from each instructor 1. Dave - Talked the entire lesson which was distracting and he mumbled so I had trouble understanding. Criticized the local DMV and basically told me that it was impossible to pass the driving test because the examiners would try to trick me. Not exactly what you want to hear the first time you get behind the wheel. 2. Sam - Would ask trick questions and make jokes that made it hard to understand what i had done right or wrong and what he was asking of me. Gave me a few good tips but overall left me feeling unsure of my abilities. 3. Luis - Whenever I made a mistake, he would tease me about it for the rest of the lesson making me feel insecure and uncomfortable. He also made jokes/spoke poorly about his coworkers and shared their personal information including where they lived and details about their relationships. Mentioned he often drives over 100 mph and kept saying "no cop, no stop". At one point he wasn't clear enough on where he wanted me to turn, so when I missed it he made fun of me the rest of the lesson. He also made fun of the high school I went to and told me stories of other students he had taught and once again shared personal details. The only helpful part of the lesson is when he had me drive by the dmv and practice on the test course. read more

what an experience this was back in the day right way has monoplozied the driver training courses, and boy do they take advantage of it of the 3 "instructors" i had, (each course requires three diffferent days of driving) my first guy threw up in the car and got sick all over becaue of a hangover, he was over 65 btw second guy was some old asian guy who couldnt speak a lick of english and grabs the wheel every turn b/c he thinks you cantdrive so theres a death sentence but my 3rd guy was pretty cool, laid back, relaxed, spoke english, young, and a good instructor unfortunately i do not remember thei names but im sure you can figure out who i am talking about read more

This place sucks, terry is extremely rude, you pay for a class to get a certificate for your learners permit and if terry doesn't like your personality he takes your money and kicks you out of the course without a refund!!!!!!! Horrible!!! My daughter had her lesson here and her instructor Dave came up to our door. I could not understand a word he said as he was completely mumbling and almost whispering. My daughter came back and said she was not able to understand anything other than a couple remarks about how awful the dmv is and every time she made a mistake, he would mumble so she wouldn't even know what the mistake was, and then say "they'll fail you". I took her out to practice the next day and she didn't know anything new and was even more confused as before. (Not to mention his hand was on her wheel the whole time so instead of teaching her he was driving for her). I called them and asked for a new instructor and wanted her to take her lesson again since she didn't learn anything. They said they couldn't do that and said to call on a different day to talk to the very busy owner. The owner was very rude and had a horrible attitude and told me my daughter was just stupid and didn't know how to drive. Well obviously thats why she needs lessons. It took almost a month to finally convince them for a full refund because the owner had to "think about it" and they very rudely told us to find another school. I wanted to make sure to post this because based off other reviews I was hesitant to go with Rightway; but after talking to family and friends who had good experiences I made the appointment. My daughter just got her permit and I booked her appt. that Weekend for her first lesson. Meredith took my call and was very helpful in answering all my questions and concerns. My daughters instructor Luis was great! She was very happy and said it was fun, he was a great instructor very patient and funny! Perfect for a teenager! We'll be making our next appt soon and hope to get Luis again! Rightway came to our house right on time to pick her up, and he had her driving through intersections etc., she said he never yelled at her once (unlike her parents!) she would prefer to learn with Rightway than us! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. I would give them a negative star if that's possible. I am furious at the way they treated me here. The first lesson I had was actually okay but honestly, I hardly learned anything that I needed to know for passing my driving test. First off, they don't know a thing about customer service. The girls who work in the office are extremely rude and don't seem to know much. Second, they messed up on my payment and on my bank account it came up that they took out twice the amount they were supposed to. I guess it was my mistake that I made the payment over the phone. I had to go in on my second lesson to fix the payment however, when I went in, the girl told me that I had to make another payment because they refunded my other one that had been already made. It didn't make any sense to me, but I did it anyways since they promised I would get my money back within three days. But in my bank account already 170 had been pulled out. What was worse was that the instructor got mad at me for the "attitude" I had and told me that "he didn't need to drive with me if he didn't want to and that we could go back in to cancel the lesson" and get a refund. I was appalled at how rude he was being and I just canceled the lesson. If I am paying close to a hundred bucks per class, I would expect these guys to be a bit more professional and nicer to the customers. I wish I had checked yelp before going to these guys in the first place. Let's just hope I get all my money back within three days. read more

Had my behind the wheel test a couple days after my lesson with Right Way. I used what the instructor had "taught" me and totally bombed the test. Best advice he gave me was when I was having troube driving too far to the right and accidentally going over the line once or twice. His words of advice to mefar as staying in my own lane and avoiding the lines were, verbatim, "it's not that hard, just look at them." A couple weeks later, I had a lesson with DriversEdDirect. Took the test a few days after that using what they taught me, and aced it. Totally nice instructor. She was very funny, and the entire staff there was efficient and helpful. Save yourself the trouble and money--go to dirverseddirect instead. It costs some extra, but you TOTALLY get your money's worth. read more

I called a couple of weeks ago to see when they held class and was told Saturday January 5, and that all I had to do was to simply show up for class, no need to sign up, didn't even ask for my name or info. Saturday the 5th came around and just to make sure I had the right address (on San Fernando Rd., next to Saugus Cafe), I called before leaving for the school. The guy that answered the phone said there was NO class that day! Either they had messed up the first time I called them or they had simply cancelled the class for who knows what reason... To complicate matters more, I had no more time left to do traffic school so I was simply out of luck! I will never try to use them again, and I will never recommend such a shabby business to anyone. read more

As a student who enrolled in Driver's Ed here 4 years ago, I would give this place 4/5. The class was very fun and I learned a lot. The teacher was very entertaining and informative, and I enjoyed being there. BUT, when I decided to come back recently for traffic school, I was poorly informed as to what I had to do/bring with me. I asked the price, otherwise I would not have known what that was either. It was $40, which is DOUBLE the price of COC's traffic school. I had already signed up, so not wanting to back out last minute, I decided to stick with them regardless. The day came for me to wake up at 630 and head off to traffic school. I am not a morning person. At all. I get there and struggle to find parking before II finally get inside. I give them my name and am about to pay when she asks for my papers. I'm not too sure if this is a well known thing that you're supposed to bring court papers with you, but I honestly had no idea. I had the citation number, my drivers license, all the information, yet no papers. The lady just sort of ignored me and started helping the next person when I told her I didn't bring any. Next up was a large man who was INCREDIBLY rude handling the situation. I pulled out my phone trying to frantically figure out what I could do, and, in between completely ignoring me, he just kept harshly telling me there was NOTHING they could do. I cannot afford an increase in insurance and apologetically I told him I had no clue I had to bring paperwork and that I had lost my ticket months ago, but otherwise had everything I needed, and he barely looked at me as his attention was on the people coming in the door. I felt pathetic trying to get his attention to figure out what I could do, and ended up walking out without him even noticing. BOTTOM LINE. The staff, with the exception of my Driver's Ed teacher 4 years ago (whose name escapes me), is incredibly rude and leaves you misinformed unless you go out of your way to ask. I definitely will not be going back here. If you're looking for traffic school, go to COC. read more

Booked several lessons for my son. The instructor knocked on the front door and didn't even introduce himself. I saw my son sit behind the wheel and drove away about 45 seconds later. Given my son had never driven before, I thought the instructor might take at least a minute or two to explain how to adjust the mirrors, adjust the steering wheel, etc., but nope. It was a horrible experience for my son. I walked away from the unused lessons and went with Driver's Direct. What a difference. Stay away from these guys. read more

My daughter had an appointment with the driving instructor and at the last min my father in-law went to hospital. I was charged late fee because my daughter couldn't take her lesson. I called and tried to explain to them that it was a family emergency. They didn't care and wouldn't refund me. I think that it's unfair to take advantage of someone in emergency. Be careful! They will call and confirm with your CHILD and then charge you $50 if there's a miscommunication!!! They are inflexible and unprofessional. Yelled at me when they screwed up with a rescheduling and confirmed with my autistic daughter for the wrong time the next day. Talked to the owner and she was awful. Yelled at me to let her talk and that they require 48 hours notice (mind you, I called weeks ago). In the end, I truly feel they've got a bit of a racket going on with confirming with minors and then charging the parents for miscommunication and errors on their part. My daughter really liked the instructor, but we WILL NOT be returning to this business for her second and third lesson. I was offered to have my money refunded, but not until I told them I was going to write this review and am going to the better business bureau (the owner hung up on me before I could get my refund). read more

Oh man I am sorry to hear that other people had a bad experience but mine was absolutely amazing! I passed both written and behind the wheel test at the DMV first time with no problems. I also fondly remember my drivers ed class as being very helpful and surprisingly entertaining; the instructor was hilarious, the graphics were well done, and I was able to get my permit the next day. I never driven before but my instructors for the behind the wheel portion made me feel comfortable and confident to be operating a vehicle. I finished all three lessons with in two months and was able to obtain my license exactly six months from the day I got my permit. Now I have my license and drive to work, school... I know all of my friends went here and had pretty decent experiences as well. in matter of fact, I was just recommending another one of my friends to this school when I came across these other comments. I just want to inform everyone that this school is in fact a great driving school with pleasant drivers education classes and safe drivers training :) read more

Both my boys went here. My kids learned so much. They both passed their test the first time. The instructors were VERY thorough. Someone on here complained saying they sat next to the curb for awhile. They did that with my kids and I asked them what they were doing. They both responded,"they were making sure I knew certain things. Like how to check my mirrors,where to look in my mirrors, over my shoulder, turn signals,ect." I see someone that wrote a bad review because of that... Hope your kid hasn't been in an accident. THEY'RE DRIVING A MACHINE THAT COULD KILL. My older son had no issue with the Right Way Santa Clarita location, when we booked the appointments the office told us what time to be outside & ready with the appropriate documents required for the lesson. When you are picked up, there may be another person finishing up their lesson, they will drive to the spot they were picked up and then you start your lesson from that place. My son had three different instructors for each behind the wheel lesson without any problems. First lesson the instructor did go over the details of the car with him and for his last lesson the instructor discussed the behind the wheel test & told him what to expect. My son passed first try at the Newhall DMV. Son #2 will be going behind the wheel with Right Way Santa Clarita this weekend, due to school & extracurricular activities his schedule is very complicated and the staff took the time/effort with us to get him an appointment that worked, so we expect to have the same good experience we had prior. read more

I am giving 1 star because 0 stars is not an option. To continue their nastiness, when I finally received the letter I needed for my son to test for his license, the owner took a shot at me in the letter. I asked for a statement that my son had completed 2 hours of training with them, he felt the need to say that I had refused to honor my agreement with him, when in fact, I had asked them to re-disclose the agreement as I had lost the paperwork. They then quoted me an incorrect price and then tried to charge me for canelling m,y appointment. To be absolutely clear, I HAD NO OBJECTION to paying a higher price since we had not completed our lessons within the designated time, I simply asked them to tell me ahead of time what the price would be. The owner then went off on me over the phone, called me names and accused me of behaving unprofessionally by nnot remembering the terms of the agreement we had made 5 months previously. He took NO ownership over the fact that his staff misinformed me when I asked for clarification.Incredibly unprofessional and rude. This company has taken zero accountability for their own poor service and crappy attitude. Their motto is "The customer is always wrong!" I sincerely hope you consider the numerous bad reviews here before you risk having a similar experience. I don't know where all this hate for Right Way is coming from. Maybe Right Way was terrible in the past, but I just got my second lesson and I'm really loving it so far. Of course that could change with the third, but I got two extremely nice guys so far. I've gotten two guys: Steve and Dave; and I must say they really taught me and have made me way more confident to drive! Of course I'm not the best driver, and I need way more practice, but they really help you get started and give you great tips for the driving test. I'm loving my experience! They were also a few dollars cheaper than other choices which is always good, I pay $105 for a lesson, which is a good price if compared to others. Right way is really great! read more

Loved Right Way drivers training! As a parent I'm not that secure to get in a vehicle with my new driver. However, Lewis took my daughter out and was fantastic in building her confidence. He spoke with me after the lessons telling me how I could help and what we could work on together. I'm very happy with their trainer, their service and scheduling. read more
