When we went to pick it up, there were a lot of nerves and concerns that it might not look right or be the desired outcome. Mimi absolutely nailed it! It looks natural, she fit it, coloured it, cut it and styled it PERFECTLY!! Leaving with confidence is all you really want when going through something like this and that's exactly what she left with! I chose Continental Hair because their website advertises handmade wigs made from European virgin human hair, professional fitting, and excellent customer service. I specifically selected the Jay Wig because it appeared to match my natural colour and was advertised as being made from virgin human hair. During my consultation in April 2026, I explained exactly what I was looking for. I needed a medium or ash blonde wig with a natural density, styled almost identically to the wig I had successfully worn for more than twenty years. I brought photographs of myself wearing that wig as well as the wig itself. As a university professor, I wanted my hairstyle to remain as consistent and natural-looking as possible. The owner recommended two wigs, both considerably darker and denser than what I requested. I was assured that the colour could easily be changed and that the wig could be cut to match my existing bob hairstyle with bangs. I also specifically asked whether the hair was natural, minimally processed human hair because I intended to maintain and colour it in the future, just as I had done with my previous wig. I was assured that it was. The company's website listed the Jay Wig at approximately $3,300. During my consultation, however, I was quoted $5,500 for the wig I selected. The owner then offered to sell it to me for $5,000 if I paid in cash and without a receipt. Believing the representations that the wig would be professionally coloured, cut to match my existing hairstyle, and made from high-quality virgin human hair, I agreed. Unfortunately, my experience after the purchase was extremely disappointing. When I returned to collect the wig, neither the promised colour nor the requested haircut had been achieved. The stylist spent well over an hour repeatedly cutting and adjusting the wig, but it still looked nothing like the reference photographs or my previous hairstyle. I was told that the dark chestnut colour matched my own hair, although it clearly did not. Instead of complaining publicly, I chose to give the company another opportunity to correct the problem. I took the wig to an independent hair salon to have the colour corrected. The stylist there refused to colour it because, in her professional opinion, the hair had already been heavily processed and further bleaching would likely damage it. I contacted Continental Hair again and was given another appointment with a different stylist. Instead of discussing the haircut I had requested, she immediately began cutting the wig into what she described as a "structured bob," despite my repeated explanation that I wanted a classic bob matching my previous wig. She also attempted to lighten the colour while I was present, but the result still bore little resemblance to the blonde shade I had requested. During that appointment, I pointed to another blonde wig displayed in the salon and explained that this was the colour I had expected from the beginning. I was then told that the displayed wig was made from higher-quality hair because it could be coloured. This surprised me because before purchasing my wig, I had specifically asked whether it was made from high-quality, minimally processed human hair suitable for colouring, and I had been assured that it was. After another unsuccessful attempt to correct both the colour and the haircut, I contacted the owner once again. During our telephone conversation, he personally assured me that if I was still dissatisfied after one more attempt to correct the wig, I would be offered a replacement. Relying on that promise, I returned. A third stylist attempted to recolour the wig. When I came back to collect it, the hair appeared almost grey. After having the uneven haircut slightly corrected elsewhere, I wore the wig only twice before washing it according to normal care instructions. After washing, the hair returned to its original chestnut colour, demonstrating that the lighter shade had not been permanent. At that point I concluded that additional chemical processing would only further damage the wig and that it would never become the product I had originally ordered. Because Continental Hair accepts donated wigs for cancer patients, I first attempted to donate the wig through their hospital location. When I found it closed, I returned the wig directly to the owner instead. Despite four appointments, multiple attempts to correct the colour and haircut, returning the wig itself, and the owner's promise that a replacement would be offered if the final correction failed, no replacement was provided and no refund or partial refund was offered. I paid $5,000 for a wig that I could not wear. I did not expect perfection. I expected the company to honour the promises that convinced me to make a $5,000 purchase. That did not happen. terrible after sales service....I wrote a review a few months ago and it somehow disappeared. it looks like owner only responds to positive reviews and ignores the bad ones. DO NOT TRUST MICHAEL.....I've been a customer at Continental Hair for over 15 years and recently complained about 2 systems purchased and their poor quality, lack of hair and excessive matting of the systems. The cost of each system is close to $5,000 (that's right $5,000 each) and when I asked Michael to review these systems and help me out he simply returned the systems to me and didn't bother to respond to my concerns. He also not had not had the decency to respond to my emails. What kind of service is that? Takes your order, your money and then washes his hands of his expensive systems that are totally unsatisfactory. He promises that you'll be 100% satisfied with his products; please stand behind what you sell!!!!!!! If Michael, the owner of Continental Hair cannot stand behind his product why doesn't he go after the manufacturer and have them redo the terrible systems and then maybe the clients would be happy. Worst human. Worst customer service. persuaded me to buy a 2600 dollar head topper after I lost my hair to alopecia. Told me it would last 3 years .. it lasted 6 months and now ita unwearable. Everytime I went back he would tell me theres nothing wrong with it and has even screamed at my mom. this man does not deserve any service. shame on him. I went to Continental Hair today with my mother, who is going through chemotherapy. This wig store, despite (I assume) having customers who are immune-compromised paid little attention to infection control. Particular staff members walked around wearing masks below their noses or not at all, the place was crowded, and the general feeling was that we were an imposition. Little time or effort was spent to show us options, the stylist who cut the wig was sloppy and interrupted our appointment mid-way through to go wash someone else's wig and the overall service was very poor. I will never go back, and will be calling the hospital to recommend they do not send cancer patients to this store. Terrible. read more

Several years ago I was persuaded to buy a long hair wig when my plan was to get a short easy to style one. Not going into details how I let Michael and his employees persuaded me to change my mind and walked out with an expensive wig that I had to try to adjust to. Bottom line: I made a wrong decision in listening to them. I spent a couple of years trying to make this long hair wig look right but it never did; not on me anyway. From the beginning it was a sales pitch!!! Never were they sensitive to the issue of me dealing with hair loss and getting my first wig. All the wigs are the same. If you look at the pictures they show you of previous clients they all have the same straight style and they all have the same BANGS!!! Every picture is the same. I had an appointment with them today at 2:30pm. I've had this appointment booked for 2 weeks. I let my employer know and took the time off. They called me at 10am this morning to confirm my appointment. WELL.....they called me just as I was leaving for my appointment to say.."ha ha you know what...your appointment is really for tomorrow hee hee". I couldn't believe it. They knew my appointment was for today!!! They even called to confirm it. What kind of business does that. I took the day off work for this Don't go to Continental!!! Sales scam and bad treatment of clients dealing with a sensitive issue. They will sell you their "cookie cutter" wig. Just look at their own photo they have on their website,,,the one with the 5 women sitting around a table at a restaurant, THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME HAIRSTYLE cookie cutter wig, The straight hair with bangs lol. Beware of this place!!!! Michael is not an honourable person and will sell you products that are bad for your hair. He insisted than an 'integration' hairpiece would not damage my fine hair. It not only damaged my hair but caused me to lose most of what I had on top. When I confronted him about this, he completely denied that he has said anything like that to me - but he did offer to order a different kind of piece for me at his cost. After I accepted his offer ( i was too shy to take him to court as I didn't want anyone to know about my condition ), he was completely rude to me. His stylists hate him and know what a terrible person he is. Its too bad i wasn't warned before I lost most of my hair!!! I would strongly encourage anyone reading this NEVER to go there. I am currently looking around for another vendor of these types of hairpieces as I will now be wearing one for the rest of my life and will need to replace mine eventually. Due to illness, I lost about 90% of my hair. It was an enormous step, considering a wig, for someone with an organic/natural approach to life. I have almost always worn my hair long, parted in the middle, with bangs and always looked much younger (was asked for ID at 45 and 59) (heredity and decades of organic/juicing/Yoga/meditating?). I was also a businesswoman and fashion lover. I cared for my body, mind, spirit and appearance. Vitiligo (white spots) began on my scalp in my 20's. Chunks of platinum streaked my long black hair. I loved it. The white/platinum eventually took over and I left it in its natural state. It was striking. Once my hair fell out, it aged me and when I looked in the mirror I saw an ill person. It's amazing how much one's appearance can raise or lower one's mood. I saw Michael at Continental and he was, as mentioned by others, pleasant and non-judgmental. I called regularly (I lived some distance from TO). When my wig arrived (much later than quoted) I was told I would need some styling; I explained that I had cut my own hair for 20 years, having had my fill of stylists who never listened to my requests, and asked for a stylist who would respect my wishes. The colour was perfect, but the amount of hair was ridiculous, more than one could imagine on a human head. The stylist assigned to me began thinning my wig. It was difficult to see what was going on, but I noticed that one side was beginning to look very strange. He began working furiously trying to correct that side and when told his next appt. was waiting, he left hastily. Once home and able to examine my wig, I noticed a thick brushcut over the entire wig where the stylist had chopped hair in the thinning process. When I tried it on, my heart sank as I discovered that the bangs on the odd-looking side had been cut so far back along the side of the wig it exposed the ridge of the wig base underneath. I wrote to Michael and politely thanked him and his staff for their efforts but told him how badly my wig had been damaged, and sent photographs supporting my claim and asked that he respond. I never heard from Michael again. The cost, including travel, was in the $2,000 range. I took it to a wig specialist who confirmed the wig had been badly damaged and said that chopping, with a wig requiring this degree of thinning, is not appropriate, that the stylist lacked wig experience and that strategically pulling of the hairs is the proper approach. I could accept the damage (or any honest mistake), with an apology and some attempt to rectify or refund, but I cannot recommend a business that would not even have the courtesy to acknowledge or respond to such a respectful, detailed description of that damage. read more

Hi there, I have alopecia universalis for more than a decade and I am an expertise in purchasing wigs by now. Continental Hair was one of the worst experiences I have ever had! The reason for that was the bad product in combination with the high price as well as Michael's insensitivity and arrogance. He's more keen on working with the TV shows than actually helping out alopecia or cancer patients, He is the wrong person for this job! I ordered a really expensive custom made human hair wig which ended up being very bad quality with a few gaps at the front part. The wig went back and forth a few times till I get the product i paid for and Michael was not shy to show how unhappy he was!!! It was not my fault they couldn't deliver while I had paid them around 3000 CAD!!! I haven't gone back to them since then and I will never go again. They are overpriced while there are many of places in Toronto as well as online that can provide you with better quality and cheaper prices. MIchael should stop dealing with patients.... read more

They take advantage of people when are they are at their worst, sick with cancer or other fierce challenges. They act like they care (Michael especially) and they help you pick out wonderful new hair to purchase, take your money and then deliver something different - and get mad at you if you don't like it (because its not what they promised) . Yes their prices are extremely high. But so far I've had a fairly positive experience. You have to be fairly certain of what you want your hair to look like to be completely satisfied. But they are very nice girls that work there. I have had Alopecia for a few years and wouldn't be comfortable going anywhere else. My hair piece does pull on my hair and cause breakage. But i was fully informed of this information beforehand and was willing to risk that to cover my existing bald spot. They have also been pretty understanding and have worked with me when I've had any complaints. (My hair was getting tangled really easily so I went in and got a free treatment done to fix it) I do find this place extremely expensive, but how can you really put a price on getting the ability to feel like you look like a normal person again? read more
