There are 2 stores: one on the left with crystal chandeliers in the window and, the one we went to, across the street on the right that looked more like a hardware store. We've lived in the neighborhood for over 50 years and have noticed the stores but this was our first visit after our electrician recommended it to get lights for our first floor bathroom renovation. I had a small and beautiful ''pearl'' chandelier that I took with me into Continental Lighting, because it was missing a few parts. I wanted this light hung in my bathroom, at (almost) any cost. Mr. Steve was my 'light-saver' He extended himself helping me out, and even partially put it together for me, just as a customer courtesy----since I had zero clue. He exemplified how a private neighborhood business should and would maintain customers, and the customers referrals. A definite keeper. Stopped in with my Mom to get a lamp repaired (didn't know you could still get that done anywhere...). Small place, but the woman behind the counter was attentive and answered all my mother's questions. They have a small, but nice collection. But I have to say, parents...be warned...they have the biggest bowl of lollipops, large floor size wine shaped glass of chocolate candies (the good stuff-snickers, Hershey, Twix, etc.) AND cookies!!!! That plus toddler was trouble with a capital "T"!!! But seriously, I like supporting neighborhood businesses and would definitely come back. read more

Amazing lighting store!! So glad an electrician I know recommended this store to me. We went there a few weeks ago to fix a lamp that means a lot to me, they fixed it right on the spot. I needed bulbs and the owners son, Danny helped us and he was absolutely fantastic, he knew the products and told us if we didn't like the bulbs when we got them in our lamps that we should bring them back and they will change them until we get exactly what we want. We did bring the bulbs back and they ordered bulbs for us, we picked them up just a few days ago and they are perfect, they got the color warmth we wanted and I'm so happy. If you need a lighting store this is the place to go. I haven't experienced such helpful, knowledgeable and simply wonderful customer service in a very long time. You guys are really the best. Rarely these days do you find a business that truly stands behind the products they sell. Continental Lighting is one of these increasingly rare businesses. My wife and I remodeled our kitchen almost four years ago and we had led undercabinet lighting installed. Over this time two of the panels failed (started blinking). We found out that they had been purchased from Continental Lighting and we contacted them to see if they could be replaced. We were amazed when Steve offered to replace them at no charge under a manufacturer's warranty. We didn't even ask for this. It was simply done as an act of good faith and superb customer service. I wish more retailers recognized the benefits of this kind of customer service. Continental Lighting has earned a life long customer. Kudos to this fine place and especially to Steve. read more

If you need professional, knowledgeable advice, this is the place to go. We have been satisfied with everything we have bought there, ceiling fans, track lighting, lamps, and replacement parts. What they don't have in the store, they can order for you. If you don't know exactly what you need, they can give you many options. On a side note, when having electrical work done, be sure to get 2-3 quotes and a very specific list of what the electrician will actual be doing, as well as the materials he/she is installing.
