I'm not big on writing reviews, but I had to share my experience with others. I've been a customer of Len Harris for decades! It's the ONLY place I'd ever buy my appliances from. After Saturday, i feel even stronger about that. Friday night, my husband was getting ready to do our laundry and the washer broke. He was all ready to go to the laundromat on Saturday after I bagged everything up. But then i came up with contacting Len Harris. We had only two small windows of time to work with: this past Saturday in the afternoon and next Saturday, same time frame. I connected my husband with them, he went over, bought a floor model and it was delivered and installed the same day! We were VERY pleased! read more

When my LG refrigerator of 7 years suddenly stopped cooling, it set off a hunt for a fix or a new appliance. The discovery that LG refrigerators have a compressor issue is its own story, but ultimately, I found myself looking for a new refrigerator at a time when production and supply chain issues created challenges to new appliance shopping. In order to navigate a purchase not from a major US market supplier, I found myself looking for a vendor who could help with questions. Online recommendations led me to Len Harris, although I didn't initially think I could visit during work hours. Instead, on their website, they have a handy option to start a chat inquiry, which turned out to be perfect for me. Via text, I sent my size, space, and configuration preferences, and a specific preference for decent service should my new refrigerator need servicing (not so for LG!). The communications with Len Harris were professional, timely, thorough, and knowledgeable. I wish I could have visited their store, but I felt I received forthright advice on what I could choose, and thoughtful follow-through on delivery, installation, and co-op considerations. I completed purchase with invoice within a day. Delivery/installation went well, with the delivery staff reaching out about 30 min prior to arrival, and completing their work quickly. The European refrigerator had an unconventional connection to my water line, so the delivery staff could not complete that part. Len Harris immediately connected me with an appliance repair guy who came by two days later (because of my schedule) to complete the installation. Len Harris is a neighborhood appliance vendor with superior service. If you know exactly what you want and don't need any help at all, you can do cheaper elsewhere, but this it the kind of place to get professional advice and follow-up for issues. We went the other day to Len Harris to buy a new refrigerator. We were shown a few that was in our size. Size matters! We picked the best one for us. Today we got a new refrigerator. The team that came to install it was great. They are in and out in under a half an hour even in this heat. We will definitely go back to Len Harris again. read more

Go here if you don't mind being misinformed. Go here if you don't mind being over charged. Appliances are over priced here. If there's a sale at Home Depot, your best bet is to head over there. Go here if you're desperate and all the other places are out of inventories (that's the reason why I ended up here). They do not have a sale here EVER. absolutely stay far far away from this appliance store. They false advertise! I ordered 2 stainless steel appliances from them and they said they'll receive it next week and can deliver it the following day. Guess what?! When the time came, nobody bothered calling me about the delay. I had to follow up twice. And they said they only have it in white. And the stainless steel won't come in till next month. This is bullshit. I had to switch over to White and we all know white appliances are so much cheaper than stainless steel. They didn't give me the lower rate but offered a bullshit $30 for the inconvenience. Always pay with a credit card that way you can always reverse the charges. read more

Len Harris was professional prompt and precise! I came here after years of shopping at PC Richard's. Had a horrible experience with them and came here to buy the same dryer. I bought it within minutes and Len Harris was able to deliver and install within days. They were even able to put the dryer vent through the window. I like the Zephyr Typhoon exhaust fan so much. I bought the kitchen exhaust fan 15 years ago and not sure bought from this store, but they are selling them now. This fan just fit in my kitchen underneath the cabinets. It is so powerful draw out the smoke very quick. Blower CFM can be 850. Your room have to be big enough or have openings to use it. Also another big benefit is the cleaning very easy. I used it more than 15 years, woking great and clean. I often cook hamburgers and steaks. It made big smoke. I wiped off the greasy on the surface often. My fan still looks clean like brand new. Highly recommend to buy this kitchen fan if you cook heavy. read more

Cant stand this company. Your not saving anything either. Also terrible customer service. I wish my dad will stop ordering from there. My dad is too lazy to use the computer so its easy for him to just call them. The owner is an arrogant gaslighter that always has an answer for everything and he makes things up just to be always right. My dad ordered a piggy back washer dryer. they did not disclose that installation was a separate service. so i was stuck for weeks waiting for my plumber to install the units. It also has a dent on the washer. Second we ordered a samsung tv that was programmed to pc mode not hdmi 1 or hdmi 2. Of course len harris blamed that on the warehouse. Spectrum cable had a hard time hooking up my cable bc of that mishap. Thirdly my dad orders 2 ac units. One of the delivery guys dropped the ac unit and my tenant and myself got so scared. The delivery guy would nt let us check the ac unit for damages. They just stormed out of here. Before that my dad gave the guy a tip to remove an old ac. While removing the old ac the delivery guys ruined my comforter. I made many complaints to len harris and their customer service is awful. He always has to be right. No partial discount for my troubles. He is arrogant, manipulative and a gaslighter. I guarantee he will reply to this with some made up defense on his part. read more

I'm a very good customer of Len Harris over the years he always delivered promptly but the installation guys are terrible! Len Harris claims it's an outside company even though they're all wearing Len Harris shirts and uniforms. First I ordered a refrigerator. The handles were loose. It said in the instruction manual that there was extra screws and a hex key never got them. I had to go out and buy a hex key ! I was able to tighten the handles myself.! two weeks later I bought a dishwasher. I watch the guys install it with no problem then I get a call from Len Harris saying they had a to raise the counter total bullshit.! They try to charge me $80 extra after arguing with them and saying I would contact the Better Business Bureau they gave me a credit of $40 still not right! The only thing good about them is the quick delivery service and the pricing is competitive! read more

Of course my dryer and barbecue breaks during the pandemic. No other place would deliver set up and take away the old models. I called The store and within 10 minutes purchased two items and they were delivered the next day. I thought the price was fair and happy they were going to deliver so quickly. They delivered today and the delivery men were in masks and gloves. Everything was quick and great service. They did notice the barbecue had a crack on a piece and the store came back within two hours to replace the piece so that I would be able to use for Mother's Day barbecue. I've been buying from Len for the past 14 years after getting a recommendation from the previous owners of the home I purchased in 2004 who were buying from Len for many years prior. I've purchased numerous items from Len over the past 13 years and it has been a mixed bag. So I'll break it down between the good and bad. The GOOD Len and his colleagues know appliances ask pertinent questions and offer useful suggestions. One area that Len is particuarly adapt in is measurements.. ie measuring the openings of doorways and stairways to make sure that the item is able to be carried up or down the stairs to it's final location. Len and his colleagues are also knowledgable about the reliability of the products they sell and if you ask, they will offer suggestions. Len's prices are very competitive with other retailers, and several times, Len has given me the best prices vs. other retailers. The Bad Len uses several independant contractors to deliver and install the items he sells. Now, I've got to say that when I asked Len about recommending a handyman, the plumber and carpenter that Len recommended were top notch. And, the over the range microwave installer and the recent A/C installer were also excellent. But, on other occasions, I've had less than adequate installations of items from Len. To give Len credit, over time, Len made sure that the installation was satisfacory. But I wish the installation had been correct in the first place. My biggest criticism of Len was when I purchased a GE refrigerator and didn't buy the extended warranty. The refrigerator was defective two weeks after the purchase and Len directed me to GE service. GE service came over and informed me that the a part was defective. They were surprised that Len didn't just swap the unit with a new one that GE service assured me the "Big Box Retailers" would have done. That , in my opinion, really counts against Len. Purchasing a new refrigerator that is defective in two weeks and being told to contact service really isn't what I would expect of a retailer who cares. I also had an issue with Len's Extended Warranty people on a dishwasher and had to negotiate getting a refund myself over 4 weeks w/o any help from Len. So, overall, these guys know applicance and can point you to an appliance that you will love. Their delivery and installation is pricey. But my biggest problem with Len is the after sale support. My experience with Len Harris is you buy something, they install it, and if there is a problem, well... it's not their problem, it's yours! read more

Terrible customer service, Over priced. Bought an a/c tried using it and it sounded like it was going to explode. Wanted to exchange it for even a more expensive a/c but they said either we give your money back and we don't do business with you or no money back and you can purchase another a/c. I know that you must have read my last review. Who would have thought that I needed Len to replace 1.broken dryer, 2.stove without a working oven. and now a dishwasher (that was probably older than most of you reading this Yelp)? I called Len late in the afternoon of 5/20/20. I jokingly said that I want the delivery that same day. Len, with his droll sense of humor said, "How about early tomorrow?" His expert installer/delivery person (wearing gloves and mash) removed the useless old dishwasher, installed the wonderful new Bosch dishwasher and now - perfect! Once again - perfect! More and more, Customer Service plays a larger part in determining what products I purchase. I need trusted advice. Let's face it, the kid at PC's doesn't care if what you bought breaks down, he doesn't get THAT call, even if he is still working there. Len and Howard and Ken don't want to get that call either, so they steer you to appliances that suit your needs, situation and use. Check the bottom line at HD - they nickel and dime you for delivery, installation, removal of old units..etc...Len's bottom line IS the bottom line for the entire job and most often more than competitive with the corporate guys. I had the best experience with this store. I ordered a dishwasher but when Franklin came to install , he realized it would be too big for my galley kitchen. He spoke to Howard and even took a pix to show him the space . He suggested a drawer dishwasher . The next day I returned to the store and Howard spent a good hour and half with me not only looking at my dishwasher choices ( which was limited ). He ,also, made recommendations about the refrigerator that I placed on order. I appreciated Franklins input and he was very professional. How easy is it to 1) order a refrigerator 2) deliver it to my apt and 3) haul away the old fridge? The answer is easy if you order from Len Harris. I ordered a fridge over the phone with Howard and got it delivered the next day! Ordering this large appliance was one of the most enjoyable experiences after living without a working fridge for over 2 months. During my order, Howard and I discussed logistics of the delivery like my 5 steps and the angles in my narrow hall so that his delivery guys would have no surprises. I got a straightforward delivery rate and haul-away fee which was fair and an overview of the process. When I inquired about a delivery time he told me I could ring him the next day to check in on the timing. The next day 2 delivery guys came, climbed down 5 steps, swooped through the narrow hall, installed the fridge and hauled the old one away. In and out, no complaints, no damage to the walls, nada. This place is a treasure. A neighborhood location (two blocks North of Union Turnpike on 164th St) with the selection of a HUGE box appliance store. But there are so many BIG differences from this place to the BIG stores. First: Very personalized, personal and personable service. Len and Howard are GREAT guys. They answer all your questions (even some you might not ask) and never try you SELL you anything. Second is the selection: HUGE. Everything! Besides refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, microwaves vacuum cleaners, air conditioners, room fans, heaters....BIG and tiny, toaster ovens, home phones, flat screen TVs, BBQ grills and even a few pots and pans. Third: Their prices are fantastically comparable (and sometimes even better) than the BIG stores. From my personal perspective...even if the price is a buck or two more.... for this kind of personal service...I'm paying it. I like to support the neighborhood businessman. This place has been here for over 30 years. Fourth: Delivery and Installation are awesome. This makes it ALL worthwhile. You get a realistic time for delivery. If they're not running on time....THEY CALL TO TELL YOU. Len's delivery/installation guys are excellent. Clean. Courteous. Efficient. And they take away the boxes, packing and old stuff. Fifth: Follow-up. If ever there is an issue, you call the store, speak with Len and Howard to explain the issue...and they tell you what's best. Last week I went to the store to buy a new refrigerator because my 7 years whirlpool the rubber door ripped and wouldn't close at all and used a gorilla masking tape to tightened up the door . I went to Len and Harris store , the salesman Howard was very nice to help me out with the right dimension width, height and depth . It's Frigidaire that was on display was my choice . It was immediately delivered the next day. After a 24 hrs , 48 hrs and 72 hrs , the 2 ice cream pints wouldn't get hard but still soft and the fridge wasn't cold but chill only . The bins were not even cold at all . I called Howard about the problems and he would replace and will be delivered a new ones the next day because they have stock available. No fuzziness with him and he was so polite , courteous and easy to talk with . Before the delivery, So I decided to go to the store again to buy a chest freezer and decided to get another new brand name LG refrigerator . I got fully refunded from the first refrigerator and delivery . I got my new LG refrigerator and GE chest freezer both on sale , too . I'm enjoying so much the new brand LG refrigerator ,I bought more ice cream ,it's freeze , the freezer and fridge on minimum temperature and chest freezer really great . BTW I also bought my Maytag washer and dryer , two years ago , very satisfied with this appliances. Our family patronize this neighborhood small business like the Len and Harris in 164 street ... I highly recommend this store, it's the best store and reasonable price, too than going to big appliances stores . Indeed. I loved my salesman Howard. So, My washer broke. I went to get a new one. Howard cut me a good deal. The new one was jumping. I was upset. I called him to return it. He took it back. I got a new one. He still gave me a good deal. I know there is a bigger chain with Len Harris, but they sure don't act like a big box chain. This is the neighborhood store that people have known back in the Leave it to Beaver days where they care about your satisfaction. Forget PC Richards - Len Harris will not only give you the best info, but also great deals. I went in to look at a fridge and ended up buying much more. Len is stoically honest and if I had listened to him about buying a smaller AC I would have been saved the sweat of installing one that was too big which Len took back without hesitation. This is real customer attention and service. For a small place, he has an amazing selection, from kitchen appliances to flat screen tvs and security systems. My husband and I want to sincerely thank the fantastic staff at Len Harris, especially, salesmen Jonathan and Kenneth. We needed to replace our old, leaking GE refrigerator. After looking online, we narrowed our search down to a Bosch and the GE Cafe line. But we still needed to see them in person. Luckily, Len Harris had the Bosch on display. As soon as we entered the store, the salesman, Jonathan, gave us his undivided attention and answered all our questions. We were impressed by his professionalism and knowledge of the brand. We did go to a competitor's store to physically see the GE Cafe refrigerator. Unfortunately, the salesman there wasn't familiar with the GE Cafe line. The only thing he could tell us was that the delivery date wouldn't be until January 2022. He had poor customer service skills. Needless to say, we went right back to Len Harris! There, salesman Kenneth, helped us complete our purchased of a GE Cafe Quad. By coincidence, the store was expecting a shipment of refrigerators. So, we happily accepted delivery of our new refrigerator a week later!!! My husband and I are so pleased with our purchase. This refrigerator is beautifully designed. Inside, it's well lit and very spacious. Overall, buying our appliance at Len Harris was one of the best shopping experiences we've had. We appreciate the way we were treated and the level of professionalism displayed. We are now planning to purchase a new range and you can bet we will be making that purchase at Len Harris! Len was able to get the unit shipped to me in quickly in Seattle, WA at a competitive price. Even though this unit had been discontinued 3 years ago, it was new in box, and came with the full warranty from Subzero. Great prices, expert opinion, won't just sell you crap to make the sale. We have a small kitchen in a rented apartment. They found us gorgeous appliances that would fit easily. On the day of install, the workers came unloaded quickly, hauled away the yucky old stuff. They fixed the gas line so it wasn't sticking out, and were very efficient. I worked with Ken on getting a package of high-end appliances for a remodel. The prices were much better than AJ Madison, Ken was much more knowledgeable, and the service was much more personalized. Though they are a small store, they had every single appliance I wanted in stock. They were super happy to work with me on changes to the order, even after it had been placed. I am going back to them for a mini-split system. I would pay extra for this kind of service. So nice that it comes cheaper!! read more

So I just called this place and they quoted me a price that was higher than the price on their website for an item I could clearly see listed as $100 and a price much higher for a wall sleeve installation than any other place--AND a price higher than they previously quoted me just a few days ago if I bought an airconditioner from them. They were trying to charge me over $400 to install a wall sleeve and $125 for the sleeve itself. This is without the airconditioner, without them having to carry the airconditioner up any stairs--we did that ourselves. Without them having to change the outlet, we did that. On a first floor where there would never be any risk of them dropping anything on anyone because there is a patio outside. Once again without them having to carry anything heavy or even cut a hole in a brick wall--the hole is already cut. To try to charge someone over $600 to do something, then say you can't even come until August, when just a few days ago (and if I bought the ac from you) you could do it immediately. I dunno...maybe this is considered good business somewhere....but the thing is, I have more than one airconditioner to replace in my house and I might have bought one or two or three even from you if you treated me fairly or even just not ridiculously regarding your pricing and instead said no it's not a job for you....I will say the first person I spoke to on the phone, a man named Kenny, was actually very nice and good then I somehow got stuck with this other guy who was apathetic and slimy and made prices up based on what day it was. I don't usually like to write bad reviews, maybe the heat is getting to me, but it's just not a way to treat people. I get the distinct feeling that this is a place that takes advantage of customers rather than actually helping them and a place that relies on a lot of wheeling and dealing rather than just giving upfront honest good prices. read more

THINK TWICE BEFORE SHOPPING AT LEN HARRIS! Frankly, we're surprised that he wants to actually stay in business with his lackadaisical, sarcastic attitude! Took the day off to stay home and WAIT for his delivery of a washing machine btwn 11-1pm. NEVER SHOWED UP. We called (which HE should have called US) and he then changed it to btwn 2-4pm. Finally, by 4pm we cancelled the entire order. He could care less about a customer's time. He was dismissive and disrespectful on the phone rather than handling my call/situation in a professional manner! read more

I purchased an appliance and scheduled it to be delivered and installed and week and a half later. The day of installation, I had to call the store multiple times only to find out at 3:30pm, after sitting home waiting all day and speaking to an employee 2 1/2 hours prior, that deliveries were not being made that day. I understand that things happen, and I do not blame the installer, Franklin, or the salesperson, Kenny, both of whom where professional and on point. What disappointed me was the way I was ignored and the waste of a day waiting for a delivery and installation that was never going to happen. Worse of all, on top of me being the one to have to call (Len Harris NEVER called me, so who knows how long I would have waited), Howard, with whom I spoke, was cavalier about the situation and rudely spoke over me while I was trying to find out what happened and why I was made to wait an entire day just to hear that deliveries were cancelled that day. read more
