I went in to look for a helmet today, and took a look at the new models while I was there. My 3 star review is an average of the parts department (5 stars) and the motorcycle sales department (1 star). Let me preface this by saying that I am a woman who has been riding for 15 years. Parts: They didn't really have helmets in my size (XS) but offered to order some for me to try on and could have them next day. The salesman was super nice and attentive even after I told him I live in Oakland and don't visit Concord that often. He was knowledgeable about the helmets, and even weighed one for me when I asked about the weight. The parts department has really great overall service. Sales: The GSX250 caught my eye. Since I am tiny and a woman, other tiny women are always asking me what they should start with. I decided to ask about it, prefacing that I didn't plan to buy a 250 but have plenty of friends who might be interested. So here's how it went: Me: How does the 250 compare to other 250's Salesguy: Well it's way better. Me: How so? Salesguy: Well, it's modern and fuel injected. Me: I see. I had a 90's EX250 and then a more modern 2006 after they changed the EPA stuff. The 80's one was better. I hear that's still the case with the more recent fuel injected one. It's heavier and slower than the original. How does this one compare to other 250's? Salesguy: Well we only have the GSX here and it's a good bike. Me: Okay. How's the torque, how fast does it go, when does it begin to shake...how FUN is it? Salesguy: Oh, well it's fun. Depending on what you mean by fun. Me: I mean torquey and something someone wouldn't grow out of in 5 minutes. Salesguy: Well is your friend here? At that point I thanked him and left. Is it me, or did he not know what torque was? Worst sales team hands down. Bought my dads 2 gold wings there and they have all the time in the world. Went back to buy my daughter a KFX 50 and wanted to see it in person before I bought it (cash in hand the way I buy all my toys). I was given attitude because I wanted to see it in person and asked they could call me when it came in. Guess that was asking too much. I'm buying two more dirt bikes this year. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! I went to this dealership yesterday looking for a New 2018 GoldWing in white. Lance told me he found the bike I wanted for 27,700 for a DCT and 1k less for the regular clutch/shifter set-up. I thought it was strange that a 2018 cost the same as a 2019 so I called around. Turns out other dealerships (IN CALIFORNIA) are offering the same new 2018 for 5k less than the MSRP. First impressions are everything! Had I been willing to pull the trigger on that bike yesterday they would've gladly charged me at least 5 thousand dollars more than what other dealerships in CA are charging. Oh and they wanted to charge me an assembly fee and a host of other charges. Both Rob and Lance smiled in my face and spoke with me like we had known each other for years. Caution: do not bring your bike here for service. Incompetence does not even begin cover it. I have an 05 Busa. 1. On one service they left brake fluid on my bike gas tank and the bleeder slightly open. 2. Another service visit, they switched out parts for a more expensive brake than they quoted but forgot to mention it to me until I was at the cashier paying for it. Then the tech said "it is only $10. more." Like the $ amount of the oversight makes it acceptable or not. Well if it is only $10. Why didn't they pay the difference?? Lolz. EXACTLY! 3. Yet another time they told me my brakes were fine when in fact there was only a few mm left. Yup, two different techs told me two different things about the brakes on my bike. One indicated hey we're safe, the other indicated they were not. Kind of alarming when it is your brakes and they are... not sure?! 4. This time, the final time they will ever touch my bike... I brought it in because it was overheating. I needed my thermostat replaced, that was the only problem. During the replacement they tipped it up on the back wheel to burp it after changing the thermostat; they did it 5 times they said. I drive it home (3 miles) and oil is gushing onto my new concrete. I bring it back and they indicate the oil filter magically threaded itself out, coincidently it waited four months (since my oil change) to happen and immediately after they had worked on it and had it tipped back on one wheel. How did they tip it up? Really??? Cmon guys !! The kicker they charge me $62.00 because they didn't change my oil, therefore they say it not their fault. Clearly it didn't happen when the oil was changed. My oil had been changed 4 months prior, I had since put 2k miles on it and there was absolutely zero oil leaking. As I mentioned, I have new concrete and it would be very obvious if even a drop leaked. If it were just a one time mistake I might deduct only one star off of their rating. Unfortunately it is a pattern of repeated error. They are polite when they screw you, they get a star for that I suppose. No accountability. Won't. Be back! read more

I came in expecting to purchase a pre-owned Honda but after working with 'June' the amazing finance director of the store we were actually able to get me into a brand new one and reduce my payment! Heard great thing about the place good selection and great workers. Went in earlier today did not get asked by one person if I need help. Was interested in purchasing a dirt bike possible two, literally looked at every model and brand they had and still no help, nobody even acknowledged me and my friend . Even after looking at the dirt bikes , I proceeded to the street bikes still not a soul even attempted to ask if we need help. Not sure if it's due to age but up to my knowledge all money spends the same . Was in the store for at least 25minutes and did not get any help . Worst service department ever... If you have service done here, BEWARE. Service will take longer them two weeks to complete, and if you have to have parts orders you're looking at 4-6 weeks. I don't understand how a motorcycle dealer has to wait 2 weeks for parts, motorcycles are build quicker then this place can get parts. This review is solely based on service department at this location. I setup an appointment to get a valve adjustment done and at the time of setting the appointment the service rep walked me over to parts to order the gasket and the hardware. I waited in line and once I got to the front I told the sales rep what year make and model and which gasket I needed. He said they already had one in stock and he could put it aside for me and I could just pay when I pay for the service in about 15 days(they did not have an appointment earlier for a 4-5 hour job). I called the day before my appointment because the day of the appointment was my only day off from work that week and that would mean I would have to leave the bike there and take uber home(20 miles away) and take uber back later on in the day to go pick up the bike. When I made the call the service rep told me yes your appointment is still on and bring in the bike right before 9(service dept opens at 9). He said they would start on it immediately and would have me out of there by 2pm. The next morning I go to drop off the bike and everything went as planned. I arrive at 8:50 and at 9:00am as I am being checked in the same rep that set my appointment tells me oh you have not paid for parts yet? Then we normally don't keep that part on hold for you. Let me go see if we have another of that part in stock, if not you will have to reschedule your appointment. I told him the parts person told me they put it aside and I could pay today. He said "No! That's not how it works". Thank God the part was still there so I dropped off the bike and confirmed the 2pm pick up and the service manager came over and said yes that would be fine and if anything changes they would call me. At 2pm I am taking uber back to the location and I call them to just have the bike up front and let them know I should be there in 5 mins. They then tell me that they have had 2 techs call in sick for the past 2 days and they were really backed up and would start on my bike in about 40 mins. WTF!!!!! You mean you did not know about your techs calling in sick or that you were backed up when I called the night before or in the morning when you confirmed the pick up time. I did not get my bike that day. I had to go pick it up next day which meant I had to take a half day from work (I work 8am-6pm). 1 star(I would have stayed 0 stars at the beginning of my review otherwise) because at least the repair was done and I did not have issues with the bike (unlike some of the other Yelpers on here) I should have listened to the reviews, but will never make that mistake again. On a side note the customer service at parts department was good but the customer service at the service department is shit! When I mean shit I mean you would seriously get better customer service at the dmv. They talk down to you, think they know everything, and forget the fact that you are paying top dollar for them to do the work. Don't act like you are doing this for free you jerks! read more

Worst service i have ever experienced trying to buy a new KLX 110 for my 11 year old daughter. The bike was ADVERTISED on Facebook so i called to confirm and they did have it in stock, but once i told them i live 30 minutes away they REFUSED to sell it to me because i am not a "LOCAL". They want a local to have a chance to buy it first was their reasoning for not selling me the bike. I wouldn't recommend this joke of a "motorcycle shop" to anyone. UPDATE A DAY LATER: ian, let me take a couple moments to answer your qualifying 'questions' more fully: before the test ride i had just ridden 28 miles from home to test ride the new honda goldwing after making an appointment a week ago, you showed me the route i was to take on my ride and when i questioned you if i was test riding the bike alone, i mentioned that bmw always accompanies customers on test rides, you asked me how many times i've ridden bmws on test rides (hinting, of course, that i must spend my time taking random joy rides), i have ridden three bmw motorcycles in my life on test rides: several years ago, i was in the market for a scooter and rode their c650 scooter (i ended up buying a new yamaha scooter); the second, it was to ride a k1600gt that i had no interest in buying and the salesperson knew it (and, in fact, about two years later, i bought a new r1200rt); and finally, i rode the new f800gt which i now own today (and bought from bmw motorcycles of walnut creek (now bmw motorcycles of concord)). so, your rude, highly-skeptical grilling did nothing but offend and put me off buying a bike from you and your store. lance, you appear to be a much nicer, stable kinda guy, but you really need to rein in your subordinates unless you enjoy offending prospective buyers and losing your dealership money. finally, yes lance, i will gladly share my experience at your dealership. read more

I had been shopping around for a used Suzuki M50 for some time. None here in the Sacramento area, so I used Cycle Trader to search for my desired bike. My "dream bike" (2008 M50 Special Edition in charcoal/yellow) popped up in the search, less than 100 miles from me, and at a very attractive price, albeit with a few more miles on the clock than I might have preferred. I finally make the trek to Concord to look at the bike. The bike is sharp, well detailed, even better looking than the pics and video from their website. Lance begins working with me, and it soon becomes apparent that he is not just working on making the sale happen; he's answering any questions and clarifying details as we go along, making sure I'm comfortable with the process. From my perspective, he's making as much effort at earning a long-term customer as he is at making a sale. The financing comes through, I sign a truckload of papers, and then I walk out to the lot where Lance is still polishing up the bike to my satisfaction. At my request, we change out the mirrors and license plate frame from my old, traded-in bike, and I'm on my way with a smile on my face and my "dream bike" beneath me. CCP is definitely on my short list of places I'll deal with again in the future. read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. I called at 9am on a Saturday and spoke with a sales rep about an R6 I saw in their inventory. I told him that I wanted to trade in my bike and put cash down as well. He told me to come in at 11am. On the way to the shop as I had stopped to look up directions on my phone my bike battery died on me. I walked 2 blocks and ended up arriving at 1120. I met with the sales rep and he told me "this is why we make appointments, someone else called right after you and came in to check out the bike. They are already working on paper." (HE TOLD ME TO COME IN AT 11!!!!) I told him my bike died 2 blocks away thats why I was late. He then told me well first come first serve. I was already pretty sour about his professionalism but he talked me into starting paperwork just in case the other guy did not get approved. Shame on me for deciding to proceed because Ian came back after I filled out paperwork and said "this must be your unlucky day" the other guy got approved. He then proceeded to tell me how many bikes he has sold and blah blah blah. What pissed me off even more was that he clearly did not make any effort to help me get back to my bike. He pretty much said sorry and let me walk out the door knowing that my bike battery needed a jump. WASTE of MY TIME!! Horrible customer service. I could not believe what happened. We took our bike here to have the tires swapped out. Didn't start working on it until 2 hours after the appointment time. Apparently the service manager neglected to inform the shop our appt existed. 3 hours past appt time we finally get our bike back, and proceed to ride it home about 10 miles down the highway. A few minutes later we get a voicemail from the shop saying they forgot to tighten the axle nut on the rear wheel. No idea how it managed to stay on during the ride home. I used the Costco Auto Program and found that this was a participating dealer. Knowing the price was fixed and no hassle would be had I went ahead a decided to pay them a visit. I dealt with Ian who was delightful to work with and made my buying experience the best I have ever had. Over the last 10 years I have purchased 6 new motorcycles and not once have I had such a great experience throughout the entire process. Lance came over to Ian and I to explain the complete process- cost breakdown, otd price, ect., I decided to make the purchase. Finance came over and was also very professional, once that was done Ian took me around and introduced me to the service and parts departments. The service dept is terrible. Dropped of my GSX-R to have the master cylinder replaced on a Thur evening & was told it would be done the next day (Fri) by noon. I receive no call & follow up Fri at 3pm & was told the mechanic just started working on it & it would be finished by closing 6pm, of course no call back again... I call first thing Saturday morning to be told that the mechanic has one bike ahead of mine before he replaces the master. I ask the person what happened to it being worked on first thing fri morn & being done fri afternoon? He came up with some bs & said he'd have the mechanic get right to it & it would be done within the hr. Doesn't make any sense why I was told so many different things by the same person. If you have the option, take your bike to East Bay Motorsports in Hayward, above & beyond better than PS Picked up my GSX-R & service mgr apologized for dropping the ball. Contra Costa Powersports is a step below your average used car lot - complete with it's own cadre of dishonest and slimy bush league salesmen looking to scam you. Imagine an entire sales staff of those mall kiosk creepers chasing you down trying to sell you snake oil. That's Contra Costa Powersports in a nutshell. I even witnessed them bang a gong after a sale like some sort of bizarre "Wolf of Wall Street" celebration. Gross. If the feeling of bugs crawling all over your skin doesn't deter you from purchasing a motorcycle from this dealer then maybe the numbers will. I tried to buy a relatively cheap motorcycle from them knowing with California taxes I'd be paying roughly 10% of msrp in fees. That's fine... but is it fine paying 37% of the bike's msrp in fees alone? They think it is. Included in this price was an inflated freight charge even though Honda lists the actual freight price on their website. Not too bright. I'd of paid the true freight and whatever other fees they wanted but they refused and were unapologetic when confronted with the true freight charge. Again, not too bright. Making a few extra hundred on a sale isn't everything. The real money in motorcycle shops is made in the service department. This particular dealer and a few others around this area are willing to cut off their nose to spite their face. If you screw your customers over a few hundred dollars during the sale, they're less likely to be loyal and come back to your dealership to get their service done. Think about it. That being said, the attitude and ethos of the sales staff drips down from management and it's more than likely that the cancer has spread to other departments. A lot of people forget that motorcycle shops employ mechanics who are more or less responsible for the lives of every person who brings a motorcycle in for service. If one sloppy worker forgets to tighten an axle nut or doesn't inspect wear on a sprocket; the result can be deadly for the rider. Called to get replacement key made, spoke to parts department rep who was surly and seemed annoyed to having to answer the phone. Rep stated that manufacturers no longer make replacement keys and I would have to either get the part replaced or go to a locksmith. On a whim, called Diablo Kawasaki, Parts department confirmed that Kawasaki still makes replacement keys, asked that I bring down registration and the key code and they could get one ordered for me. I've been to Contra Costa Powersports a couple times, they were decent and while a bit expensive was closer to my house than any other dealers. After dealing with this, I'm not going back. read more

The worst place to buy a used motorcycle ever! I bought my 250cc Motorcycle only two months ago (7000 miles). They overpriced it for me for the excuse of doing full inspection and changing what needs to be changed and all that nonsense that sales reps tell you to fool you into accepting that price tag. After I bought it, It did not start smoothly in cold, and when it gets warm it revs very high. I took it back to the service center and they claimed that it needs to adjust the idle and everything should be fine. Because I'm new to Motorcycles, I wasn't familiar of the symptom. I took it to an independent mechanic to find out that this is an overdue valve adjustment!!! The mechanic also told me that the original break fluid was still there. It was all dirty and black, which should have been changed since you expect to buy something properly maintained from a dealer! But NOOOOO. they were so cheap to properly do that! Also, The back tyre was in reverse!!!!!! When I bought it, they said they changed the tyres. But to change the tyres and not know which direction should they be on is a disgrace! Never ever ever will I go there or even refer somebody to them. If I can go lower with the stars, I would. read more

Kind, helpful, friendly people. I traded in my 2017 zero fxs motorcycle and they gave me excellent value. I was able to apply the trade to a brand new zero. The sales associate even supported me negotiating with the owner to get a great price. It was fun hanging out with everyone there. The showroom is comfortable in spacious. I was invited to hang out as long as I wanted, test ride as many bikes as I wanted. They helped me every step of the way with setting up the payment in a truly convenient manner, and they were so gracious and easy going about it. As a woman I've had some terrific experiences at motorcycle dealerships. Everything from being told they would not allow me to test ride a motorcycle I intended to buy or--even sit on it, to just plain condescension, discomfort and hostility. I bought my last motorcycle at SF Moto, it was just ok (actually they treat me like a pest everytime I'm there). That's never been my experience through the years traveling all the way up to Concord to work with the folks at Contra Costa Motorsports. They're so cool! read more
