DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. It's now Wednesday, I had the work done on Sunday. I have been trying to get someone on the phone to talk about the price I was charged ($849 on a $145-179 estimate). I have been hung up on, put on hold for over 30 minutes, told the manager (some guy named "Harry") wasn't available. They took my number and told me they'd have him call me back. There has been NO response from them. I have since called my bank and stopped payment on the transaction and they are going to help me get a lawyer. After reading some of the other reviews, I should not have hired these people for the job. They appear to have a habit of ripping people off and then ignoring you after it's done.

Caller very rude don't recommend at all. All I needed was a simple quote and she couldn't even do that.

Called My Good Samaritan to get a quote to come out to rekey the front door to my property for me…read more A week later I was ready to commit to the service, he was scheduled to come out April 15 at 4pm EST (3pm CST) I live out of state so I had to coordinate with my neighbor to make sure the locksmith could be let into the home. April 15th came and at 530pm EST (430 CST) I received a message from my neighbor in San Antonio making sure I knew the service hadn't been done yet. I texted the locksmith to get an update, it was stated that they were behind on a job and if my neighbor couldn't stay behind to wait for them they would just unlock it themselves. Cool, no issue. I was at a training exercise for my job and I instructed the locksmith to contact my spouse as they'd be available and I wouldn't have my phone. At night I got home, asked my spouse if he paid the locksmith and he said he was never contacted. Today, April 16 at 2pm EST I texted the locksmith and asked if they planned on coming back since the service wasn't fulfilled. I was reassured that they'd show up, yesterday they fell behind on a job. Cool, next time a heads up would be neat since I live out of state and there are other moving parts to this. 6PM EST I get a message from my spouse that the new locksmith that was sent out to do the job was charging us $150 for 5 locks, an amount I never agreed to. I got into contact with the locksmith at my property and explained that the person I spoke with (owner? Not sure) did not detail that it would be 5 total locks with a total cost of $150. The locksmith kindly explained the breakdown of pricing and that when its a rekey service, its standard to do all the exterior doors. Makes complete sense, but that has to be something that needs to be talked about when scheduling a service with a customer. At the end of the day I met the locksmith at $90, for his kindness, understanding, and professional demeanor. I wish that the owner (?) had explained this information and cost amount to me before we scheduled the service. I would have been fine paying the $150, but not after you flaked on the job the first day without a heads up and then wasted your employee's time and mine. The poor guy seemed super nice on the phone, too. Make sure you explain in detail what you need before having these guys come out.

We went through what I wanted and…read morehe gave me prices for each step and for steps we might have to add so I knew upfront what my charges should be. First my main deadbolt lock gave up the ghost and broke. Still had 2 locks, 1 in the knob and 1 on the storm door. So started looking at replacement locks and picked out something and went to install but the hole in my door was too small. So went and got one to fit "any door" at Home Depot. It didn't fit either. Was trying to figure out if I needed a handyman to increase the hole or if the locksmith could do that. Meanwhile in the same day the other 2 locks broke.By now it's Superbowl weekend. Well I'm a military widow so decide to not bother anyone on this weekend. I can just bar the door and stay home till it's fixed. I had already looked up locksmiths and they had a great review from someone I knew. So Monday I called. He fit me in between 2 already booked calls since I couldn't lock my door. So in less than 30 minutes he was here. It was a horrible mess. I had tried, so parts of 2 different locks were in use on the door. I had misplaced some needed screws. I had new handles I wanted instead of that key in knob broken handle. Didn't phase him, he didn't complain about the mess or the mixup I gave him but sorted it all out. Drilled the holes...in fact I needed yet another correction to the jam as well. My door had shifted. Maybe that why the locks started breaking? Made that deeper and even longer screws. Installed it all and made sure I could use it smoothly. Now they were my lock and handles so not warranted by him as they shouldn't be. I still have to go program at some point but for now the keys work just great! Told me what to make sure of and look for when I set it up and to call the locks customer service if I ran into problems with that. Really just part of an afternoon and I'm good to go once again. Fantastic service, a very reasonable price and done right. I will definitely use them again for any locks I need work on. And with an almost 60 year old house I'm sure I'll need more things . Very much 5 star service

I'm disappointed with my experience with Juan, the owner of Halo Lockouts…read more The property manager of my home hired him to install a brand-new deadbolt I purchased and a doorknob I provided (not new, but definitely working). I sent photos beforehand. After installation, he said everything worked and left. The door failed less than a week later and would not open. I sent him a video showing I tried the key, the code, and opening it from inside. He offered to come take a look and never mentioned an additional fee. Once here, after removing the doorknob, he said it was "faulty", tried to sell me a new one from his truck, and told me I owed an $80 trip fee in addition to the new doorknob. This led to confusion since the property manager originally contracted him, there was no mention of a new service fee, and this was the first time a contractor has charged to fix something they installed. As a locksmith, evaluating locks and advising on appropriate hardware is part of his profession. He later said he "didn't know" the knob was faulty, which raises concerns about whether the issue was the hardware itself or the installation. The property manager ultimately paid him. Thank you Randy Morris Realty! Juan refused to reinstall the original knob and left my home with only a deadbolt and no functioning doorknob, despite knowing I'm a single mom with twin daughters and he was being paid by my property management company. I'll be adding photos and video to support this review.
