The offices are relatively new, clean, and attractively furnished. The hallways have old pictures of the Quarry back before it was a shopping mall. The docs I've met here have all been proficient and professional. Parking is easy, and there's even a strategically placed Salata right next door so you can go eat healthy after your checkup. Some of the offices overlook the Quarry golf course, which is scenic. There's also an emergency room right next door if things go south in a hurry at your medical exam. I just wish they'd get some magazines for the waiting room. What kind of doctor's office doesn't have anything to read in the waiting rooms? Bring your own if you want something to read.

She was refused service for arriving TWO minutes past "cut-off" time, despite having attempted to call and notify the office multiple times that she would be late due to unexpected construction/traffic (she was only able to leave a message, which they ignored). The receptionist and head nurse were rude and even laughed at my mother's situation. The other two receptionists were blithely talking on what appeared to be personal calls. There was only one family in the waiting room. DO NOT see this practice if you are looking for a professional, caring medical staff. My mother has lived in San Antonio for 31 years and has never experienced this kind of a horrific experience. Upon arrival I was greeted and handed the patient paperwork in a prompt manner. The wait was about 30 minutes. I have very small veins, and I'm always scared I'm gonna get poked up and leave looking like a Michael Myers victim. But she did it on the first try and with very little pain. Never encountered that before. To top it off I am supposed to go to a specialist once a year her people say to go to the appointment and the specialist will do the referral, last time I did that they said they don't work for my PCP, it's her job to do the referral. Instead of $55, I had to pay $175 for a simple visit. My wife and I both don't like the way she talks down to us. She ignores my suggestions and acts like she know everything. BEWARE of North San Antonio Healthcare Associates…read more I chose to establish care with PA Churchwell after she was suggested by another group. Clifford Alprin is her supervising MD. I needed referrals, bloodwork, and a consultation for some severe neurological and cardiac issues I had been experiencing. My establishing care appointment with PA Churchwell went well, she was kind and seemed competent. After that appointment I never heard from her again. PA Churchwell refused to successfully follow up on my lab work for over a month, she failed to assign me to her supervising MD for followthrough, the office was unresponsive to the imaging facility they sent me to (so I was unable to get my MRI) and once they realized I had fallen through the cracks, they promptly made me an appointment with Dr. Alprin. My personal experience with Dr. Alprin has been astonishingly underwhelming. He was unable to answer any questions about my lab work, my concerns, and lacked ANY updated medical information on methylation, genetic testing, possible solutions. HE asked ME to provide him with peer reviewed studies or articles about methylation pathways, genetic mutations, etc. I am VERY shocked this man is allowed to be the "top doctor" in this practice and now that I've met him, I simply should have never expected any better from anyone working under him. His satisfaction in his own ignorance is highly concerning. He could've referred me to someone with the answers, offered to research solutions... he could've done a lot of things differently, but instead- Dr. Alprin continually spoke over me, denied my concerns, and flat out "fired me" from the practice. All because he did not know an answer to a single question I had about MY health. I had begun seeking out alternative care, due to the lack of followthrough.
