Had an exceptional experience here ( injury withstanding) !! The night before my visit I tripped over a shoe and heard a crack! Hoped it was nothing - but knew it probably was - so after a restless night headed here at 6am!! From the moment we entered and the person at the front desk explained all the paperwork, charges and process - to the care I received - and in less than one hour I had received x-rays, an unfortunate but expected diagnoses of a broken foot and left with crutches, a boot and a care plan ! I am a Case Manager RN. I brought my father to this facility last week because he diaphoretic, tachycardic, and shortness of breath. My father couldn't articulate what was wrong with him. I brung him in and told the staff, his symptoms and not sure if he has chest pain or not because he couldn't tell me. They immediately asked me to take him to the ER which was a few miles away. I was not in a position due to I was one day post surgery myself with 2 Jp drains hanging from my side and lifting restrictions. They asked me about his insurance and states they do not take Tricare or Medicare and for me to take him elsewhere. I told him can we stabilize the patient because I believe he has a history of Type 2 diabetes and has been ingesting a lot of sugary drinks, also a TBI patient with heart failure. They refuse to treat or assess until I pay. When I told them I would pay just stabilize himself they still kept referring me to take him to the ER and said that all they were going to do anyway. Until I mentioned I was a nurse and they are refusing to treat that they are violating the Texas Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act was when they decided to treat. Once they were treating him I asked several times did they check him blood sugar and his condition. They refuse to give me any information. I provided the facility my father's wife information for a complete history and they refuse to call her. This is important because giving him too fluid can overload him with a history of heart failure. They would not talk to me or give me report and they called the ambulance and he was admitted to the ER with blood sugar 891 and the ambulance could not tell me what was his blood sugar but that he was given 5 liters of fluids. My father was admitted in the ICU placed on and insulin drip, and diagnosed with hyponatremia As a healthcare provider I am disappointed in the lack of care, communication, his rights was violated in providing quality care. I am filing a report because someone has to be an advocate to make sure this does not happen to someone else. read more

While this deviates from the usual reviews I write, I wanted to take the time to compliment the good work of everyone at this facility - from the front desk ladies, who were quick in figuring out how to process my unfamiliar insurance, and kind while I was in a lot of pain, to the nurse, CT machine tech, and physician who saw me and helped me stay as comfortable as possible while I waited for a diagnosis of what was causing me so much abdominal pain (spoiler alert, diverticulitis). While the fact that I could hear so much from other rooms and the nursing station is the one thing that I might call an area for improvement, I overheard that with such a small staff, they had a COVID positive, and another patient they were actively trying to find a hospital bed for due to needing more critical care, and while I could tell they were swamped, I never felt forgotten or ignored. The location is great - and there are CVS and Walgreens locations right in the same area if you happen to need a prescription following your ER visit. The parking is reasonable and not stressful. The facility is super clean. All in all, I'm glad this place is an option in my area. While I don't wish an ER visit on anyone, if you do find yourself in need, know that you're in good hands at this facility. read more

They will separate you from your spouse or loved one for the majority of your visit and call in the loved one at the end. If you want your support system with you the whole time, go to another place. I went to Fossil Creek Complete Care on 8/18/24. My reason for going in to be seen was flue like symptoms, high fever, shortness of breath, chest pain, and tingling in my hands and feet (this had been going on for 72 hours) .The woman at the front desk was very nice and got my info right away. The nurse who took me back to the room was very kind, and got me settled in nicely. Once Dr.Solley came in to the room, I was very hopeful for some explanation as to why I was feeling this way. He checked my breathing, my throat and air way, as well as my stomach and feet. His idea of why I felt so "sick" was anxiety. He compared me to a frantic mother who brings her child in with a fever, and can't seem to listen to the doctors. His words were "a fever is no big deal" "the only reason people take medicine for a fever is because they are scared". I had to advocate for myself just to get an IV and some pain medication. I was also given Ativan, and not once did they explain what it does. Come to find out it's an anxiety and sedation medication. It's very sad that there are doctors out there that truly don't care about the well being of their patients. I hope everyone else's experience is better than mine at Fossil Creek Complete Care. Do not bother replying , I understand Dr.Solley is the Medical Director and I do not wish to speak with him. Thanks! read more

The facility was very clean, and has a lot of parking. It is located in a small shopping complex at the corner of Bulverde Rd. and Evans Rd. The waiting room was spacious and they have a coffee machine (Keurig, very much appreciated) with a decent selection. This was without a doubt the best urgent care service I have ever received. I went in with an upper respiratory infection (URI) and was taken care of immediately. The doctor (Dr. Solley), was totally awesome and very personable. As a matter of fact, the entire staff was too! I've been coming to this location for years and I've been happy however they have a doctor on staff that's very disappointing. On two different occasions, in the past 2 years, Dr Hilliard has seen us and his review and time spent has been under 2 minutes. He doesn't ask clarifying questions and rushes to diagnose. No other patients were present and I know he had time. His lack of quality care has caused us to seek second opinions both times. We paid for an ER visit and didn't receive adequate attention. Update 12-21-20 I spoke with Trish and she assured me that despite the information I received from my insurance company, I would not be billed and that any payment from me would have been billed at the time of service. This is such a weight lifted! I went to get a covid test, there was no wait. I was not informed that I was in an emergency room until I was already in a room. I am currently waiting for a bill of over $5000 for a rapid covid test, flu test and strep test, and a urine sample they insisted on that I tried to refuse twice. read more

I went here yesterday with chest pain and difficulty breathing. The nurse and doctor were so attentive and took my concerns very seriously. They did tests for everything (EKG, bloodwork, chest x-rays, physical exam). I was convinced that I had a pulmonary embolism. Luckily, it was diagnosed as a panic attack (first time in 15 years) and I became very embarrassed. Instead of blowing me off or making me feel ashamed, they sat with me and showed me breathing exercises and guided meditations. They then treated the anxiety to knock out the physical panic symptoms so I could get a good night's sleep. I woke up this morning completely normal again. Best bedside manner I've ever seen from health practitioners. If I could make this standing ER my primary care location and go here for all health needs I would! read more

Visited on 6/23/2020. I went in because I wanted to be tested for COVID 19. Because I was 75 yrs old, they gave me the rapid test. They all showed concern for me and went above and beyond the requirements by doing a complete set of tests (X-ray, blood work, urinalysis, careful physical exam) The entire staff at Complete Care was extremely professional. Dr. Berro is a real credit to his profession. The Nurse and assistant were very good. I am a difficult blood draw, but the assistant did a perfect job! I will always favor this clinic as the "go-to" for any emergency needs. Highly recommended! I have since received once a day calls from my doctor and the head doctor to check up on my progress. If you could give a six start review, i would do it. I was on medicare and had no problem checking in. The receptionist was friendly and professional. read more

The prices have gone way up since it is now Fossil Creek Complete Care. I took my son in for severe allergies. I don't have insurance, and I am cash pay. It was obvious that my son did not have strep throat, but they proceeded to test him anyway. Without asking me if I would like it done, for an extra $30. Of course the test came back negative. I had been to this clinic when it was Urgent Care twice before. The Dr.s were always very thorough and conscientious of the fact I was self pay and did not do unnecessary testing without first asking me. I couldn't be more unhappy with the service I recieved. I will never go back to this clinic again. read more

To be honest, it's a very nice location and I think it's really convenient that it's 24-7, but they need to work on understanding some basic medical concepts and bedside manner. I really don't mean to drop knowledge bombs on people, but as a doctor, I honestly take it upon myself to educate the public. Honestly. So a little bit about me, I simply needed a chest X-ray and some blood work done for an employer. There's a difference between a check up for a possible condition that was prophylactically treated completely 6 years ago and actually having said condition. I swear this nurse busts through the doors, literally (no LITERALLY) throws a surgical mask at me. I put it down because I'm still filling out the paperwork, and then yells, "No. Put this on NOW." So I put it on, and continue filling out the paperwork. Again, I got yelled, "come with me...No. Now." So I comply, and walk with her, and as I go through the doors, I'm sort of greeted by a bunch of scrubs, who kindly nod me away because they don't have a negative pressure room. Mid-step, this wonderful, yell'y nurse shoes me away with her hand as if she was dusting potato chip crumbs off of her sweats in the middle of a Binge Session of Gilmore Girls on Netflix. (Not that there's anything wrong with Gilmore Girls, I'm actually on the Second Season now. Good stuff.) So as I'm trying to collect my things, I try to take the mask off, well...because I'm leaving. I was told to go to an actual ER. Big ER. No, no. A big ER. She actually pantomimed it to me, as if I didn't understand English. I try to remove the face mask that was literally 6 ywars too late in protecting those around me.... Old Yeller here: "No. Leave it ON." I mustered up all or my strength to Valsalva a real hard coughing "THANK YOU!" right into her mouth, and exited stage right. That last line was a joke, but otherwise, that's my story. If this is how patients get treated when they aren't sick, I really feel bad for those who are sick. Maybe things have changed since I finished medical school, but... SARS isn't a thing anymore. Herpes isn't transmissible through Tinder or Sext'ing. And in case, you're really behind the times, the Cold War ended. read more

Fossil Creek Complete Care is an amazing urgent care facility, and Dr. Crawford is an incredible doctor! He is professional and thorough with a calm exterior. My husband and daughter were both seen this week, and he explained everything well and took excellent care of them. He called around to find the medicine they needed at a pharmacy near our house. Decided to bring my sick child here since we live just up the street. My insurance is $100 for an ER visit and $50 for urgent care. For some strange reason, the receptionist wanted to charge $245 without explanation. When I pushed back, she said "We do things differently here". Beware. There's probably 10 other urgent care facilities within 5 miles of this place, don't get conned by them into paying anything other then what your insurance dictates. Took my son in last week. The ladies at the front desk were very nice & even helped me fill out my paperwork since I was unable to due to my son vomiting. We got to a room within only 10 minutes of being there. The male nurse Juan was very helpful as was Dr. Van Delden. They took excellent care of my child & addressed all my concerns. For the most part this place was good. But not fast. I am in early pregnancy and had major bleeding. Very worried. Very scared. I'm sure all you expectant mothers can relate. I don't know why but the only thing that angers me about this place was that they were terribly slow. -slow to check me in -slow to see me -ultrasound tech was slow to arrive -results were fast to process, slow to be received. The only other good thing is that they don't charge you again for 72 hours after your initial visit. Still... Very expensive and slow. Also, VERY IMPORTANT: They refused to give me information on my own issue over the phone. For example, they wouldn't even let me speak to the doctor that saw me! I don't know about you, but I for one, would appreciate some info about my issue over the phone since I was not able to physically go down to the clinic! Something has to change there. They need to become a little more accommodating to parents!! read more

We've been here twice before with my croup prone son. He was scared and upset so I was not about to take him elsewhere when I was informed of the massive price hike. What was before a $50 visit was now an $293, 30 minute visit at a clinic bookending a neighborhood shopping center. Armed with the knowledge before hand I would have pressed on to an actual emergency room rather than an after hours clinic charging ER rates. In the end I'm thankful for their staff and my son is peacefully asleep next to me and that is what matters. If you've been pleased with this establishment in the past-take heed, caveat emptor. From the ladies at the front to the nurses and doctors in the back I was extremely pleased with my visit. I've been through dozens of doctors, hospitals and clinics in my life and none have been as open and honest about cost! To me that's a big deal. I thought I got bit by a poisonous spider so I went to this location bc they said they took my insurance. I had a huge bruise where the bite was, they looked at it for 2 seconds and said it was a mosquito bite that I scratched too hard? The bruise had 2 visible bite marks like a spider inside of the white center in the middle of the bruise. Now they want to charge me 800.00 for looking at a mosquito bite and the five minutes I was in their office. Don't go here. read more

Fossil Crook charged $3,600 for a penicillin shot and 10 minute breathing treatment and $1400 for "doctors" attention. $5,000 for a bad allergy/cough. Better off going to HEB urgent care clinic up the road on Evans or on Hwy 46. read more

Too slow, poor care, and overcharged! I took my 10 year old here the other night for high fever and a sore throat. It was nearly empty and we got to but took us two hours to get seen. First we were seen by a nursing student who attempted a diagnosis (allergies) and finally a doctor who tested for flu and strep. I had already decided we would never return but today I got our EOB and they charged our insurance over $2500. In response to the super friendly note from the staff: I understand that I won't have to pay for what the insurance company was billed but that does not excuse billing $2500 for a basic virus. And while we were seen by a nurse fairly quickly we were there every bit of 2 hours before we were seen by the doctor. read more

I went to Fossil Creek about 2 weeks ago and the receptionist, Holly, was super helpful. She helped figured out what the best option for me was going to be to get the best care possible since the change in my insurance required me to meet a pretty steep deductible before they would pay for whatever needed to be done. As a student that was difficult and not possible so Holly gave me a copy of my insurance information; she gathered over the phone to ensure I was covered first and be able to afford anything; and sent me to the sister facility over at De Zavala.
