My mom luvs this store. I stopped by to get her a pair of shoes for her birthday. I know certain brand names my mom prefers, so I just went with the intention of getting her a new pair of shoes. So, I see sum J. Renee's, their her size. Grab'em and the women were even nice enough to gift wrap them, again it's mom's birthday. I take them to her. She's excited smiling talking, open them up and she already has this color. Uuugghhh.. No problem I returned to.the store immediately. They exchanged for another pair. Gift wrapped these as well. Here, I go with my second pair of shoes. Here momma goes with tbe smiling and talking. Yay, she didnt have that color!! The women at the store were extremely pleasant to shop with. I purchased a pair of nice ankle-wrap Rockport sandals from Cook & Love on line. They arrived very quickly at a flat rate shipping charge. So far, so good. I opened the Rockport box and instantly noticed that the two shoes were different from one another. First, one shoe didn't have the cardboard shoe shaper that Rockport inserts into their new shoes. Second, the leather was different between the two shoes, one high grain, the other inferior. The embossing on the exterior of the show was similar, but a slightly different pattern. The two leathers had different lusters, one Rockport's signature medium luster, the other much more dull. They had the same hardware and signature "Rockport" stitched lettering on the shoe insole but the insole padding was different, one denser, the other thinner. Also, the interior size/model stamp was different in the two shoes, different placement, font, information. The two shoes also fit differently, one larger than the other although the size is congruent. The shoe last is one is familiar Rockport, supportive. The other is NOT. Clearly, one of these shoes is an authentic Chinese made Rockport (the left shoe) and the other (the right shoe) is a Chinese made knock-off. They clearly were constructed of different materials. Cook & Love's website doesn't declare that they sell 'seconds' and it's not that this (right) shoe is a defective. It's just clearly been manufactured by another shoemaker. I've contacted Cook & Love, both by phone and online. The Customer Service Rep said she'd have Cook & Love's Buyer (Kari Smith) contact me and clarified my info. She did mention that the Buyer would reach out to their Rockport Supplier so that has me wondering whether Rockport knows that they may be supplying Chinese knock-offs of their shoes to retailers like Cook & Love. But two different shoes in the same box!? All too bad because there's every indication from the reviews I read that C&L are a reputable online retailer and their BBB rating is A+. I'll update here once I hear back from Cook & Love about a resolution because I wouldn't want others in this same predicament. Cook & Love, love the left shoe! read more

I appreciate the fact that Cook and Love focuses on weird feet. My mother loves this store because their sales people are trained to search high and low for a shoe that doesn't hurt her feet. She has terrible arthritis, and she is on an endless search for comfortable shoes. They are the most patient sales people I've ever met. As for me, I have weird feet in a different vein - mine are very narrow. Cook and Love does carry shoes for very narrow feet, but unfortunately, I can never find a pretty shoe that fits. read more

I love the service here! The staff are friendly and accommodating, and like to have conversations with the customers. They are also very good at picking out and suggesting shoe styles that they think you would like. Furthermore, the staff is adept at spotting shoes that don't fit you in the right places. The only thing I don't like, is that the shoes are so darn expensive. Other than that, C&L is a stellar store. read more
