At first I thought, 'meh, I don't care about Bass Pro Shop so I'm not gonna come here.' I was wrong.. do it!! Come to the pyramid! Although it is a gigantic BPS, it is basically its own attraction. There's a giant tank with different fish, alligators, bowling, a hotel, AND a pretty cool observation deck that only costs $8 to go up. There's a restaurant up top, too! Everything is decorated so cool to make you feel like you're walking around a bayou on a starry night. Seeing everything made me curious to come back to check out the hotel and bowling one day. This is a must-do when visiting Memphis!

If you love Bass pro shop, you gotta visit! It's ginormous! It has the biggest selection of outdoor gear you will find! There is a cypress garden with fish and alligators! The kids will love it' Wahlburgers is inside the store so off you spend all day looking at everything and get hungry...go visit, the burgers are pretty good and priced well!

This striking 32 story pyramid completed in 1991 houses a huge Bass Pro Shop. There are aquariums, an artificial swamp & shooting range. There is a clear walled elevator going on 28 floors to a glass observation deck with views of downtown & the river. Besides outdoor clothing & gear there is a Hilton hotel, boats, awe vehicles, burger restaurant, rooftop, ... alligators!

Bass Pro Shop is easily accessible by car with plenty of free parking around the Pyramid. You can skip the wait by booking a reservation to the Lookout Restaurant, and line up directly after paying $8 fare per adult on the right hand lane straight up to the 28th Floor. Great views on both lookout points. Make sure you head there before the last reservation at 6:30PM as the Lookout restaurant and entire store closes at 7:00PM, meaning you'd only be able to catch the beginning of sunset before close. I love the southwest view of the Mississippi River and the Hernando Desoto bridge. Make sure you go on a cooler day, as the window panes of the pyramid reflect sunlight at an angle back onto the lookout points. Very easy to get to with great view payout.

I have known about The Pyramid in Memphis for years. First as a basketball arena and now as the second largest Bass Pro Shops. We recently visited Bass Pro Memphis and stayed one night at the indoor hotel called Big Cypress Lodge. Pretty special place. You see just how special this place is from the very moment you drive up. Then you walk in. Boats in water, numerous water features including the traditional fish tank, gators, 28 story to the top to a lookout with an amazing view of the Memphis skyline. Our experience at the lodge was cool. The room we stayed in is resort style. Outdoor theme, with a balcony that looks at the sales floor. Overall The Pyramid is a very special place. Don't just go and shop...go and experience...go and stay.

Very nice concept, a lot of good things to buy and nice overlooking of the city. The staff are nice too. Don't forget to grab one of souvenirs hat

When in Memphis, you have to visit the Pyramid. We planned it out to be there during sunset and it was beautiful. The views are breathtaking. There's no seating available and its not for those who are afraid of heights. There are a few different view points for different angles of the city. Don't miss out!

The one thing that I knew I wanted to see when I visited Memphis was the Pyramid. I know there's Beale Street and Graceland, but to me, peak Memphis is the Pyramid. Even though I'm getting to see it in the current state and not when it was an arena. Once settled in to where I was staying I decided to walk to here so that I could take it in from afar and as I neared. Walking here was probably a stupid thing, but I did it either way. As you walk towards the Pyramid you take in how this used to be used as an arena. With the vast parking lots, winding road that leads you up to the front door, you could only imagine how busy this place was on a game day. To note, this place is the eighth largest pyramid in the world. And for me to say that I got to go to a pyramid is kind of a cool thing to say. There are many things that go into to this place, and some of those are separate reviews as the inside of this place has definitely changed and adapted. It is now home to a Bass Pro Shop, Ducks Unlimited, hotel, observation deck, small museum, restaurants, aquariums, and tallest free standing elevator in the country. Other notable things in here are an archery range, shooting range, laser shooting range, bowling, and the list could go on. A very unique reuse of a building and I am glad I got to see it.

The Memphis Pyramid is a giant, glittery Bass Pro fever dream... part swamp, part sporting goods store, part luxury lodge, with gators downstairs and river views upstairs. It's weird, wonderful, and unapologetically over the top.

Great place to view the sunset and do some Bass Pro Shops browsing! While the deck uptop is $8 and a harrowing elevator ride to the top, the sunset views are not to be missed! If you'd like to get a drink at the fish bowl, a bar (and small restaurant) surrounds a lovely curved fish tank. The Pyramid gets negative points for hotel staff not being knowledgeable about their own public happy hour on a Friday with the fire pits, music, etc. but will leave those comments where hotel mgmt can view. Check out the basketball history of the Memphis Pyramid, as well! Can you believe they played basketball here until 2001? Ra, Ra, Ra, it's the Memphis Pyramid!

This is the Memphis Pyramid or Bass Pro Shops Superstore.

The Memphis Pyramid is an iconic downtown landmark. But actually, it's really a Bass Pro Shops Megastore. If you are an outdoors enthusiast, then I believe this place is for you. Inside the massive lobby, off to the right hand side is the hotel check-in counter for the Big Cypress Lodge. Wow, a hotel inside the pyramid, that's pretty cool. I started thinking of Las Vegas, lol. And straight ahead is entering a sportsman's paradise. There's everything you can think of and the setting is from some far away Disney themed fantasyland. Just walking around and browsing felt like an escape into another world. They sell equipment for archery, camping and hunting. You can buy boats, tractors, fishing, bait and tackle, sunglasses, raingear. There was a sign for range and waterfowl. I don't even know what that is, lol. There's a General Store that makes homemade fudge and old fashioned candies like moon pies, taffies, licorice, cotton candy and jellybeans. - A restaurant called Wahlburgers. - They house alligators in a pond. - Large fish tanks. But the big highlight is The Lookout from the Observation Deck. Yes, for $8 a person ($5 for kids) you can ride the elevators to the top of the pyramid. Then stand outside from high above Memphis looking down on the city. The skyline was pretty nice including panoramic views of the bridge that connects Tennessee and Arkansas crossing the Mississippi River. Besides the Observation Deck, the Lookout at the Pyramid is a bar and restaurant offering 360 degree surroundings. Lastly, they had a lot of discounted merchandise, so it felt like shopping at a retail outlet store. Some hats were $5.99 and t-shirts $6.99. I picked up a few items along with fudge and candy. Overall, the Pyramid, or I guess you can call it Bass Pro Shops Superstore, is a fun way to combine shopping and sightseeing within one destination. I had a memorable time.
