Oak Hall is a designer clothing store. I'm not just saying designer to throw it around, nope they have suit coats and jackets and pants that are flown in from Italy . For fear of looking like a complete moron, I will not even attempt to re-pronounce the names of these Italian designers. What I will say is that these suits are freaking gorgeous. I wanted to throw them into a large pile on the floor and roll all over them. I've never seen, or felt such luxury in all my life. We stumbled upon one of the friendliest, most knowledgeable suit selling men I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Mr. Bruce has been working in this industry for 40 years. Yes, 40 years. This man knows him some suits. He looked at my husband, immediately guessed his height, weight, jacket , pant and suit size. Pretty impressive in my eyes. I will tell you that you will drop a small fortune in this store. However, that small fortune of clothing will probably last you a good decade. This stuff is so quality made, and absolutely gorgeous. What's a few hundred (or thousand) bucks spent on a good, proper fitting suit? That's what I thought. So, if you find yourself in need of some quality clothing, head on over to Oak Hall. Ask for Bruce, he is fabulous and the only sales associate who gave us the time of day. Suffice it to say, when we buy my husband a suit next month, he'll be getting the commission. read more

Do NOT shop here online. My daughter identified a pair of shoes she wanted so I went into the Memphis store to purchase them. I was told they were no longer available in Memphis but were in inventory at the Nashville store so I ordered them. Received a text a few days later from an employee that they were no longer available. I asked why the confusion and she replied simply "our inventory". No kidding. However, they showed as being available online so I placed the order. A few days later I received a text: "Your order from Oak Hall has been cancelled and you're been refunded." No explanation provided. It is now too late to find the shoes online and receive delivery from another vendor. Oak Hall is not ready for primetime. Avoid. read more

I was VERY disappointed with the lack of service in this store. I was under the impression we were entering an upscale store and would receive superb service but I was mistaken. We walked in and walked around the entire store, passing by every employee working and not once was asked could they assist us. Being upper management in a completely guest services oriented industry, that was not acceptable by any means. We walked right out of the establishment and I immediately came to the review areas. I'm assuming our skin color wasn't the preferred tone but our money is green just like any one else's. We'll gladly spend our money elsewhere. Memphis' own version of Brooks Brothers. the original location (at Oak Court) even had the 'Brooks-look' down to the oak & glass fixtures and the white hex floor tiles-like the flagship store in Manhatten. Now, its more Barneys than Brooks (which can nowadays be found in the mall). Generations of blue-blood Memphians, from the most patrician families shop here, not to mention a veritable who's who of Memphis law & politics. From (almost) cradle to grave, courthouse to country-club cotilion, Oak Hal can outfit you in the finest cotton, silks, linens, oxford cloth and worsted wool. You can add that 'bespoke feel' by having your alterations done by one of the most talented tailors in town. Mention one name (well, two-tell her I sent you) Sona. She's the best. Period. Don't let her age or appearance fool you: she can cut cloth with the best of 'em. I wouldn't trust anyone else to touch a suit, sports jacket or pants. Honestly, before her I thought that a tailor had to look like Dubledore or Alfred the butler and ask the all important question (does the gentleman dress 'right' or 'left') discretely and with great care. Think Pacino in 'Scent of a Woman', getting fitted for a suit in the hotel suite scene and you'll get the idea. read more

Sweet clothes. Not cheap but quality never is. Bought a tux here years ago (won't say how many) and didn't realize how fat I have gotten till hours before a black tie wedding. In a short time, they had pressed, steamed out, and altered at no cost. Quality clothes and service. They have a great semiannual sale if you want to save some dollars. WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN. I know many people (including myself) who have gone in there on many occasions with the intention to spend money (and a lot of it). However, the people who work there are some of the snobbiest people I have ever met. They have the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I would so much rather go down the street to James Davis, where they go above and beyond in customer service, and shop there. I thought oak hall was okay. I found the service to be a bit annoying. It was my first time in the store and I was trying to pick out a birthday gift for my husband and didn't know what I wanted, so I just wanted to browse in peace. But alas, my peace and quiet was repeatedly interrupted by a saleswoman who kept hovering over me and offering me unsolicited suggestions. Next time I'll have to go on a Saturday or some other day when it's busy---I made the mistake of going in on a weekday morning. However, despite the slightly clingy service, I'll still be back. Oak Hall carries some terrific brands (great Zegna section) and they did a beautiful job of gift wrapping the present. read more

I went in looking for a couple suits for work, and a suit for my upcoming wedding. The clothing was great, but the customer service was quite the opposite. I was in the store 15 minutes, and I'll give a short account of what happened: - Walked in to a few guys standing around talking. Nobody greeted me, but I didn't mind. - Asked the gentlemen if one of them could help me, and a guy did. - He had me try on three jackets. The first was too tight; the second was too light; the third was nice. My fiancee kept giving suggestions, which he seemed to ignore, as each jacket was not what she mentioned. - He had me try on a pair of pants that didn't match exactly, but were "close enough". (Note: He suggested I buy separates, because I lift weights) - He asked if I liked it. I did, but it was the first one I tried on, I wanted three suits, and it was out of my budget (which he didn't ask for). He called the tailor back to start chalking it up. - I respectfully opted to check out other places, and left. (I ended up buying from James Davis, which had far superior service for similar quality) Overall, I felt like I was not appreciated, not listened to, and looked down on. I will not return. read more

Called and spoke to Gwen who told me they only had 1 left in my size. I gave her my info and she had it to me within 2 days and very nicely wrapped for Christmas!
