Solid company! I love the bad ass return policy! I was seeking a longer lasting shoe than the New Balance I had been wearing to walk in. I walk a good bit daily. Right now, I average 10.5 miles a day I'd say 6-7 miles a day are in my "walking shoes" at least. Some days more, some less. I love to eat good food you see, so walking and exercise is a must not to die an early death. I mean I eat and drink 3-4k calories a day most days! Anyway, I was going through NB shoes every 60-70 days with inserts. That is $200 plus every other month. That shit was interfering with my other shoe game quite a bit. I like nice brand new shoes you see... I had been shopping for walking shoes at NB Memphis and that's all they sell. I decided to give FF a try and see what they had to say. I went in, got scanned, and was told I needed a size 12. I questioned this because I wear a size 11.5 in almost all shoes. I listened to Max explain why I needed a bigger shoe with reluctance. He said my left foot was 11.7 and my right was 11.5. I was a dumbass and bought them. Fast forward 40 days and I have blisters on top of blisters on my right foot. The damn shoes were just sliding up and down on my foot every single step. After a long walk with steep hills last weekend I'd had enough and decided to test their 60 day no matter what return policy. To my surprise and joy, they gave me a new pair of 11.5 shoes with zero bullshit about it. I hate they steered me wrong initially but I am now a customer for life! I can get the exact same shoe for the exact same price at Academy Sports for a cheaper tax rate. I will not do this! AS would never give me another pair of shoes after I had beaten them up for weeks. I love the foot analysis machine and the education provided by staff when I'm looking for a specific shoe. Knowing my correct size now clears up sooo much about my previous shoes and foot problems. The staff that I've interacted with are able to answer questions and suggest shoes based on what I need and using the foot analysis they do. I have a pair of running shoes (Hoka) and I feel like I'm running on clouds. They are so comfortable and have a nice bounce in the heel. The walking shoes I have (Hoka and Brooks) are comfortable as well and my feet say "thank you" Once you find a shoe that fits your needs, allows for swelling, and have enough room for your toes to "breathe" you stick with that brand. You get what you pay for and I have no problem investing in a pair of shoes that are comfortable and decrease the pain when I walk/run. read more

I've been going to this store for years. Every worker is very knowledgeable and takes the time to get you in something you'll love. Even when there's a wait you don't feel rushed by the workers, and they stay with you not darting around to multiple people at once. I voiced my concerns about my former shoes and what I was looking for and the employee listened and brought out shoes that matched my measurements along with what I was looking for which is more cushion for standing all day. I have many issues with my feet, from arthritis to neuropathy, and I hate buying shoes, as it's hard for sales associates to understand what I need. Dale was amazing. In my experience, I was not able to choose what shoes I wanted to try on, but instead brought various shoes that they thought were best for me. The shoes they brought were a whole size too big, not the style I was looking for, and I ultimately felt very uncomfortable being told what I needed and what is best for me. Andrew was our customer service representative, who was absolutely outstanding. He walked us through the best products for our son's specific needs. I was a little anxious about being asked to tag along on a trip to Fleet Feet. I always think sporting goods stores will sound some kind of alarm when I enter, "Alert, alert! Her idea of cardio is shopping!" Fortunately, my experience at Fleet Feet was hardly so dramatic. We entered and were quickly greeted by Kristen. She sat with us and asked lots of questions about levels of activity, previous injuries, and running goals then brought out quite a few boxes of shoes for test runs. No walking back and forth across the carpet in this store. Kristen actually took us outside to try out each of the shoes and was very patient, even when we were clearly ignoring the sign that said something along the lines of you can't pick running shoes based on color. I'm not an athletic gal, but my mother in law happens to be a marathon runner. She insisted that I needed good shoes when I joined a gym, and purchased me a gift card from Fleet for my birthday. I put off coming here for quite some time, anything having to do with athletics and people testing my body parts out to see what they can do fears me beyond words. I don't need anyone to help me find out I am completely out of shape and that my body parts fail me on a daily basis. I went in here with sheer dread in my stomach. For no reason whatsoever. The staff here is amazing. They spent about 30 minutes testing my feet. They had me walk back and forth, barefoot, on the concrete floor to see if I striated or pronate (apparently this is why my shoes are always worn down on the outer back edges). On a side note, she did call out 2 other Fleet employees to check out my insane amount of striating. Apparently they had never seen such an extreme case of it prior to my walking in the store. I told you my body parts are all sorts of messed up. Once she decoded my feet issues, she presented me with 3 different pairs of shoes that would work for me, and my work out needs. I particularly liked this, as I have no need for a $300 pair of tennis shoes (let's reserve that $300 bucks for a nice pair of Jimmy Choos or Manolos please and thanks!). I'm not using them for marathons and triathlons, nope merely for working out at the gym, walking and the like. I went for the cheapest option- which she also added in some gel insoles to further protect my striated feet. I will say these are the most comfortable pair of I've ever owned. Sadly, I can no longer use the excuse that my shoes hurt my feet for not going to the gym. Damn you Fleet Feet. Damn you all! read more

Getting let down by a friend is one thing but man, when your shoes let you down, well, that's just...painful! I tried to give my new shoes 3 different runs ranging from a mile to three and each run caused my right knee to ache. I knew I'd better get something else on feet. What I love about Fleet Feet Sports is that "They KNOW runners". They know, understand, and listen to what runners have to say. I mean, the feet don't lie, the brain, of course it does! How do you think we manage running such insane races! Anyway, I came back to the store and immediately upon walking in, my same salesperson recalled me and could tell something wasn't right. He understood my concerns and then magically appeared with a few more shoes. I'm the kinda girl who knows when she puts on her "feel good" shoe. I took a few quick runs up and down the sidewalk and hoped these ones were the ticket. I was able to do a quick, painless exchange (with receipt) and covering any difference between the first and now this pair. He assured me if those didn't work, I could come back. I was grateful for the reassurance but hoping it wouldn't be necessary. Update: It's been now almost a month and I have my happy feet back! I typically run anywhere from 2 to 4 times a week ranging from 3 to 8 miles so I don't need any knee pain to slow me down. The shoes are great, cushy and supportive. I'm glad I kept an open mind and was ready to allow his expertise to put me in the right shoe. The key is getting the right fit for your stride. I finally talked my 21 year old daughter into training for a 5k with me. Believe, me, this was no small task. I had to beg, cajole and use various methods of persuasion in order to accomplish this. Finally, she broke down and agreed, but only if I bought her new running shoes. So yesterday afternoon, we went to Fleet Feet to get new shoes for each of us. Now buying running shoes can be a bit tricky. And if you're not an experienced runner, you really don't know what type you need. Well the cool thing about Fleet Feet, is that they have this treadmill that they put you on that records the way your feet come down when you run. They play back a video and immediately can tell the type of running shoe you need. Once that is accomplished, they bring out several different brands and styles for you to try. We each tried on about 3 or 4 pairs before finally making our decisions. But I am very happy with my new shoes, and so is my daughter. I will definitely go back there again when I need a new pair. read more

I absolutely loved my experience at Fleet Feet Sports and want to give special recognition to the young man that helped me, Max. I went in to get a reliable pair of shoes and wanted a more hands on experience because I was torn between a few major brands everyone had been raving about. I'm a coach, frequent gym-er, and ex athlete so I have some existing kinks that required a specific shoe for comfort. Max gave me a foot diagnosis and it turns out I've been wearing the wrong size shoes my whole life (FREAKING SHOCKER!!!). When it came down to trying on shoes Max brought out everything I asked but then took it a step further by bringing out a shoe I would've never asked for. After trying on the shoes I asked for I realized they were nowhere near as comfortable for the type of utility I was looking for and I went with the extra shoe Max brought. Y'all..... it was/is literally perfect. He was so patient while I went back and forth between shoes and never rushed me while I did mini laps to ensure they were as comfortable as I thought (don't judge- yes I was that person at the shoe store lol). My life has been changed to the point where I don't want to wear my normal shoes anymore Yeezys, J's, or Vans. I just want to wear my comfortable Aasics and keep it pushing. My experience: I visited Fleet in Collierville to purchase a pair of running shoes. The owner was extremely attentive to my issues and set out to put me in a pair of shoes that would best match my needs. We started with measurements and then I had to take a test run to assess my running technique. Afterwards I tried on three different brands of running shoes and made a final decision. I ended up with a shoe that was selected strictly for comfort. For once I didn't make a shoe choice based on looks or style. First time for everything. Price: My husband paid a little over 250 for two pairs of shoes. Not bad Over all, I thoroughly enjoyed my shopping experience. I learned a lot about my feet. I now know which shoes work best for me. A little bit overprice, but it helps a lot that the clerk knows about running and have knowledge about shoes so they are good when you need an advice on how to maximize and improve the way we walk or run and not get injured or stop the aftermath aches and pains. We bought two pairs of shoes when we went there and got evaluated (my son and husband) on the best shoe for their needs, but after that we just order them online and find them cheaper. I am admittedly a Fleet Feet fanatic - I've been shopping at FF stores across the southeast since I first started running a few years back. One thing that I've found across the board is that the staff is always incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The Memphis location is no exception. I am mostly past the point of needing to be fitted for shoes (I've found what works for me), so on the days when I just need a fresh pair, I am in and out in about 5 minutes. On the days when I want to change things up, like when I needed shoes with a lower heel drop for Crossfit, the staff lets me take my time to squat, jump, lunge, and run my way through trial pairs until I find ones that work. I usually like to shop small businesses and not chains, but FF is a major exception to my own rule - these people know their shoes. I also highly recommend their (FREE!) It is pretty obvious I am not a runner. However, on a recommendation from my physical therapist and in order to find good supportive shoes after a broken ankle, I found myself at Fleet Feet. I am so glad I went. Despite my reservations about feeling silly (the whole not a runner thing), my experience was excellent. Eric was totally dialed in when I explained my ankle and foot issues and came up with options to help. The discussion about what was happening with my feet went beyond the broken ankle. The customer service was exceptional; I did not feel rushed or pressured. I left with a comfortable supportive pair of shoes and a much thankful pair of inserts. I needed a new pair of shoes after a leg injury combined with wearing out my old tennis shoes that I had bought here a few years ago. I was able to walk right in and an employee greeted me and looked at my walk to see if my injury had affected it at all and grabbed me a few different types of shoes to try on. Unfortunately, they don't make the model of shoes I had gotten there previously, but he got me shoes that were similar. I was even able to try on pairs of shoes (same model) with extra padding in them and compare them. I decided on a pair of shoes that ended up being the most expensive but didn't make my knee or hip hurt. If you need shoes that fit your foot properly and won't cause you to have blisters (which happened to me when I bought a pair of shoes from another local shoe place) this is the place for you. Just be prepared to pay for it, because the shoes aren't cheap here. I also was able to give them my old pair of tennis shoes to recycle and walked out with my new shoes on. read more

I think I lucked out with this place. Started walking/jogging a few months ago, but I've been using terrible shoes without knowing it. When my left achille's tendon began to hurt, my mother suggested that I get some real running shoes. Randomly checked this place out. The guy took one look at my shoes and knew something was wrong. Measured my feet, had me run and jog in a few different pairs, and apparently my left leg twists inward when it lands. Turns out, shoes can get quite complicated and need to be specialized for each person's foot! He really knew his stuff, we found a pair that worked for me, and the pain in my tendon went away almost instantly. Really excited to get back out there and jog some more.
