If I could give -1000 stars, I absolutely would. I recently had an initial visit for my newborn, and the experience was beyond disappointing -- it was heartbreaking. The exam room was freezing cold, yet they undressed my newborn for nearly 10 minutes. The staff seemed unprofessional and unskilled, and during that time, my baby's temperature dropped multiple times -- as low as 94.4°F. Dr. Reed then recommended we go to the emergency department for possible infection. Once we arrived in ED, my baby's temperature was back to 98°F, clearly showing there was no infection, just negligence. But because of that mistake, my healthy newborn had to spend two days in the NICU for observation and endure countless unnecessary tests, blood draws, and even a lumbar puncture. This entire ordeal, the emotional trauma, medical stress, time, and financial burden, medical bill that we have to handle was all caused by their careless handling and poor judgment during a 5-minute exam. Omg. Where to start. My grandson cut his eye open as we were walking out the door for family day the day before his dad departs to Basic Training. As a Cook Children's Alumni, I made a call to explain the situation as this would be the last time he would spend a dinner with his daddy. The lady who answered was not friendly at all, but I won't judge as I am sure she hears excuses all day long. She spoke with the charge nurse and my grandson was in and out with a new eye and was able to meet us in time for our dinner. I can't say enough about Cooks! There is a reason I worked there. I can also say that they would have probably done it for anybody because that is just how customer friendly they are. Thank you Cook Children's Urgent Care of Mansfield! DR REED is by far amazing! This whole office does everything in their power to ADRESS your concerns. We have a 3 week old and from our questions about her umbilical cord down to her jaundice they care! I am so glad I picked this office for our little girls care. read more

This is the worst customer service experience I have came across. If there was a zero rating, it would of been my first. The front desk girls were very unprofessional and rude. It seemed like they just didn't want to be there. You are constantly surrounded by sick children and worried parents, if you don't want to be there, please don't. That is the last thing a parent would want to be greeted with, is an attitude. Three hours had past before we just decided to go home. My son was not feeling well and didn't want to tough it out anymore. This review was my short version of it. We will not be going back here ever again and will be going to a different place tomorrow. Had to visit urgent care 10 min before they closed. My son injured his toe in football practice and what I experienced was all good! I checked in and was sent to a waiting area. I did not sit for more than 5 minuets before we where called to the room for vitals. 5 min after that Wanda came in and took my son for X-rays. Everyone we encountered was nice and attentive. Results came back it was only a bruised toe. It was a quick, smooth and seamless experience and I would recommend this location for urgent care any day before i enter any ER. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Professionalism will not be found here for the actual urgent care. Disgraceful how the nurses speak to the patients' families, if they have questions. They did not care that my son was having chest pains, no sense of urgency. In fact, I checked in online for the time 4:50pm. I was checked in at 4:47pm. Tons of people brought children in after me and they all were taken back before my son. In fact, I actually left to take my son to Methodist Mansfield ER. I called them to find out the wait, told them what was wrong with my son and they said, "I would recommend getting him in." After the nurse had the Gaul to tell me that "all the people that were taken back before my son, checked in before me and that they do not take Kids back dependent on urgency or what is wrong with them". So much for being an URGENT care, in the time I spent in the waiting room, my son had been checked in, evaluated by one doctor, had vitals, EKG and a check X-ray in the time I spend in Cooks waiting room. Disgraceful!!! The only thing good about this place is Dr Ryals & Dr Christie and their nurses. Don't go here if you have an injury, illness or an urgent matter. read more

I am now putting my kids in school and low and behold their shots are out of date...Call me crazy but if I bring my kids in for well visits and they have my kids shot records, why are they not looked at and given if they are needed or if they are out of date? I took my 3 year old grandson there Wednesday late afternoon as he was exhibiting flu like symptoms, high fever, runny nose, bad cough and complaining that his legs hurt. I called in advance to ask if they had the rapid flu tests in stock to which they responded yes. When the nurse practitioner(no doctor) came in the room I explained all the above and told her that we had had 4 flus in the house over the last 6 weeks. Long story short she refused to test him saying they were saving the flu tests for high risk kids. With this terrible strain of flu shouldn't all kids be considered at risk? I insisted and said I want him tested so he can get on tamiflu. She said that since I was demanding tamiflu she would prescribe it but that it could do more harm than good if he didn't have the flu. I said no, I'm not demanding tamiflu but am demanding the test to see if he needs it. She also responded to my statement about calling first saying "sorry you don't talk to medical personnel when you call". In the end she would not test him. He got so bad 2 days later we went to his regular doctor and was tested positive for the flu but too late for tamiflu. Don't go here, I never will again! read more

We had the worst experience on Tuesday April 18. We took in my grandchildren who were sick. Baby was only 10 days old with goo in the eye that was not normal. Our 17th month old tugging at his ear. Runny nose and swollen eyes- it was apparent he was sick. We were told NO. Neither kid sick. Normal eye discharge in baby's eye & 17th month old just has ALLERGIES!. NOT.!!!!! Today, 2 days later both worse off. Got into pediatrician today. Full blown ear infection & strep throat in 17th month old & baby has PINK EYE!!! Incompetent people. BEWARE. I signed up for Yelp specifically to leave this review. Consider this a ZERO STAR review, for complete lack of professional conduct, total absence of communication among clinic staff, and the trifecta of laziness, apathy, and incompetence. I transferred my daughter here from the Magnolia clinic in October, because this is closest to our home. She has had four sick visits and a visit for a flu shot - that's five visits. For these, I have TWO care summaries: October 31st, her first visit, and today, for the flu shot. I sent a message on January 8th, after having sick visits on 10/21, 11/3, 11/7, and 01/04, stating: "There are no Care Summaries listed since Halloween, even though my daughter has been in FOUR times since then. There are also no test results listed. Her fever is back up to 104 right now and I can't reference back to her visit last week because no information was uploaded to the profile. Was she negative for strep? Was she negative for the flu? Was she tested for more than one strain of the flu? All questions I can't answer!" (The only visit that shows ANY test results listed was the 11/03 visit - not the initial visit on 10/31 or the SECOND followup sick visit on 11/7/17. This was particularly grating, as I NEVER received any actual diagnosis for my daughter, but I needed to know in order to notify her school and gym so appropriate sanitation could be done, because gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria/enveloped vs non-enveloped viruses, etc. require different sanitation protocol for infection control.) The response I received from Kristine Crabtree, RN, states: "I can't address the care summaries but she was tested for type A&B flu and was negative and her strep was negative as well hope that helps" Moderately helpful, yes. Addressing a major issue with keeping appropriate patient records? No. Other issues with this office: 1) I was told that I needed to provide authorization for my mother to bring my daughter in, and that verbal authorization was not enough. I sent that authorization in via fax, yet STILL received a phone call at the time of appointment, asking again to send authorization which should already have been in my daughter's patient profile. 2) I received a phone call from the office to "follow up" on how my daughter was feeling since her visit on 11/3...WHILE my daughter was in the office on 11/7, being seen AGAIN, because she was still ill. They somehow had no record of the appointment being made and her being physically there, at that moment. 3) The initial visit, on 10/31, included the nurse telling my husband that it was 'something viral, and she just needs rest and fluids and it should run it's course in five to seven days', even though I informed the office that she began running a fever on 10/23 and I did OTC medication/rest/fluids FOR EIGHT DAYS prior to her appointment. 4) TODAY (01/24) I received a phone call from the office at 9:06 AM (appointment was 9:05 AM,) telling me that they could not give my daughter a FLU SHOT, because I had not changed the primary physician on her insurance card. They've seen her (and billed our insurance) four previous times for sick visits, but somehow are unable to bill a flu shot, which you can receive from a PHARMACIST at a pharmacy. I asked if they had tried to bill the shot yet, which they had not. They then proceeded to make my mother and daughter wait, seeing FIVE patients that came in AFTER my daughter, until 9:40 AM when my mother complained about the wait. This was clearly retaliatory for my response to the earlier phone call; which was to say that there would be no problem with the insurance billing the flu shot, and I know that because I process medical insurance claims for a living. So thanks for increasing my family's risk of exposure to the flu during an epidemic by making them wait 35 minutes past their appointment time for a shot that took up five minutes of your day. I won't be updating the PCP to Dr. Mann today, because I'm transferring her out of this truly miserable excuse for a pediatric office. read more
