I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Jacob Knox and his assistant during my 4-year-old daughter's visit. From the moment we were taken to the back, Dr. Knox didn't acknowledge us once, not even a simple hello. For a children's practice, that kind of warmth should be given. His assistant made the visit even harder. She avoided eye contact with me throughout our entire interaction, showed no friendliness toward my daughter, and provided zero information about the shots being administered or what side effects to watch for afterward. She gave the injections and walked out without a word. Getting shots is already a stressful experience for little ones. The least a pediatric team can do is help ease that anxiety for both the child and the parent. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. I've seen other providers at this practice who are warm, communicative, and wonderful with kids. Dr. Knox and his assistant do not meet that standard. I won't be requesting him again and wouldn't recommend this particular provider to other parents looking for a children-friendly experience. read more

Not only is it impossible to get ahold of clinical staff but their most recent policy changes involving insurance just make no sense. However I have noticed someone in management that I am unfortunately familiar with and it makes sense, it's all about maximizing profit on their end. I want no part in that. **Review for Kidsville Pediatrics** I would not recommend taking your child to Kidsville Pediatrics. Over the past two years, I've experienced a high turnover of doctors--never seeing the same provider consistently, which has made it hard to build trust and continuity of care for my child. The final straw for me came during my son's first sick visit (outside of routine checkups). After checking him in online, we arrived on time, but were kept waiting for 20 minutes past our appointment. Then, I was abruptly informed at the front desk that I owed \$250 from a past visit, which my insurance supposedly did not cover, and that my son couldn't be seen unless I paid in full or set up a payment plan. While trying to get clarity on the charge--requesting an itemized bill--the staff told me the printer was "not working" and they'd email it instead. While I stood there with a very sick child waiting almost an Hour after his appointment, the front desk eventually informed me there had been an "error" and I didn't owe anything after all. My son was finally seen, but the whole experience left me frustrated and disappointed. To make matters worse, when I called the next day to follow up, a different staff member informed me that, in fact, *they* owed *me* \$250. In addition, this office has a habit of scheduling appointments without your consent and sending a text message rather than calling to confirm. I initially chose Kidsville because it was close by when my first child was born, and I had hoped to find consistent care. Unfortunately, repeated administrative issues, poor communication, and staff disorganization have led me to move on. read more

Waited over an hour for scheduled flu vaccinations. Every appointment my insurance information is incorrect. I have been improperly charged 3 times. Even though my insurance covers well visits and vaccinations at no cost or copay, this office continues to try to force me to pay one. After giving them instructions with my insurance provider on the phone while standing at the front desk, they still refused to code it properly and said well we will just see what comes back. I really hate having to look for another provider for my kids because we really liked the physician. read more

I have been coming to this office since they opened. All was great the staff, office was clean, at the time they only had two physician it was a small office. Physician was awesome never had an issue until they began to expand. They began constantly changing office stuff . Now it is difficult to even get anyone on the phone. We are always having billing issues. Which never happen previously. I am always asked to pay different copay amount for same type visit. My insurance information was random information every visit I kept correcting it and by my next visit it was back to the previous wrong insurance they had in the system. When leaving v.m. for a call back I never hear back from them. I am very sad to look for a different office but with all the constant issues I think we are ready to move on and look for a different office. I don't recommend this place. My youngest son was having issues in school. So I thought I would make an appointment. And ask for resources for my child. Plus the school recommended I talk to his doctor for resources as well. So I did ! I have been taking my kids to kidsville for about 4 years. At first they had a lot to offer it was great. But slowly it started to get worse. It use to be very kid friendly with a small playroom with toys and TV. They had construction done and took it away. And added space to there office. So now it's just a tiny waiting room with nothing kid friendly. Anyways I go to my appointment to talk to his pediatrician Naureen Ameen. And I tell her that my son is having behavioral issues at school. He had a horrible experience his first year in school. But anyways I asked for resources and she said that she was going to ask a few questions to see what the next steps to take. So I answer her questions. And I put 100% trust in her. She then asked me how do I discipline my child. And I told her that I do spank my child on the bottom. Only on the bottom. ONLY on the bottom ! She gave me this wide eyed shocked face and proceeded to put her opinions on me. And blame me for my child's behavior. She then told me she would contact a counselor to get a consult. And that I should wait for a call back. So we did. This was before Christmas break. So we wait and wait. Christmas break starts we are celebrating with our boys. And we get a call but it's not a Counclor. It's Child protective services (CPS) because a Anonymous person from kidsville reported me for child abuse. We only see her no one else. For winter break my children had to answer all kinds of crazy questions that they are not use to. Because again they are in a loving home. CPS also come to our home to interview me and my husband. Which they said that this case will be closed In no time because from what they gathered there is no sign of child abuse in the home or on my children. This is exactly Why parents don't want to ask for help. Because of people like her. We are definitely never going back. And I am looking for a new doctor. And my son got the counseling he needed no thanks to her. So thankful for Baylor Scott and white ! DO NOT GO HERE ! read more

Where should I start. My family and I moved back to Texas and needed a pediatrician for my son who was under a year old. Due to long waits for VA insurance approvals we had not gotten his insurance until after he was around 1 year. Obviously not kidsville's problem and we went ahead as the usual and was self pay. Fast forward to when we received his VA insurance with back dated coverage to birth. We essentially had a small window with the VA to submit past claims for refund. This is a patient to insurance process. We had zero issues getting billing statements from intermountain health care for his birth, hospitalization and General check ups prior to moving here to Texas. I was able to submit those to the VA and was refunded within a month. However when I requested the same info from Kidsville billing they were resistant to give billing codes (E&M, administration). Instead after multiple calls they insisted on submitting to the VA their codes themselves and told me they "kidsville" will refund me when they get the EOB. In a way this did cut out tedious uploading of document to the VA so I let it slide. My mistake since it would take longer to receive monies because of both organizations processing times. The day came after multiple calls checking in on the refund we received "most" of the refunds. One of the visits they only submitted that he received vaccines and did not submit the visit code itself. I was told it would have to be resubmitted again and I would have to wait for an EOB before they would refund that $120. Okay all this has been frustrating but the clinic staff has been pretty good and the doctors caring. We stay with them despite the headaches and withholding of information and monies for months. Last week I take the day off to bring my son to his 18 month well child visit. We get there early and are the first patients through the door. We are told during check in that our insurance wasn't verified the day before because it was a federal holiday. We were given the ultimatum to cancel and reschedule or self pay in order to be seen. We chose the later due to my work schedule and a promise it could be verified later in the day and that the transaction would be canceled. I was told later that day over the phone it was able to be verified. However the transaction wasn't canceled and ended up bring processed and pulled from our account two days later. I followed up and was told something different every time about processing time being 2-3, 5-7 and then 7-10 business days. Goal post kept getting moved. Finally I am told today that the $120 from months ago is being processed. However my self pay from last week is going to be withheld until the insurance pays the claim. So if you are VA, Medicaid, medicare or otherwise you need to call ahead to make sure they verify ahead of your appointment or they will put you in this position and hold your money. In reality they should refund the self pay for the negligence of not verifying ahead of time and place a balance on my account when the EOB is received just like any other patient. There is no where in the signed documents that states you must self pay when you have verifiable documented insurance . What was signed applies to the previous visits were I didn't have verifiable insurance at date of service. Be aware of these policies before coming to this clinic. If this can be rectified promptly I will be happy to update this review to a score reflective of my clinical experience. read more

They to force parents to vaccinate or they wont see your child. Thats 90 vaccines from newborn to 12 grade. Im sure the CDC will add more, when will parents take a stand? Will 200 vax make you stop and think and become informed. It's impossible to ever get any sort of medical advice over the phone or even through email. No one ever gets back to you if you need anything for your baby. It's very discomforting not being able to seek medical help or advice through your own pediatricians office. I would not recommend this place. read more

I would not recommend this place or Dr Ameen to anyone. After meeting Dr ameen, at the end of my appointment she said to me "We'll your kids look like their in good hands you seem to know what you're talking about but my only piece of advice to you is to probably not have anymore kids. You're only 22" like what? What kind of dr says that? I'd somewhat understand if she said that if my kids had signs of neglect but my kids are so healthy and happy! I had my daughter In June. Upon leaving the hospital, the hospital pediatrician wanted us to schedule an appointment to get blood drawn to check that my daughters jaundice/Bilirubin levels were lowering since she did 2days photo therapy and was Combs positive. I come to my daughters appointment and give a brief history and told Dr Ameen my concerns with the jaundice. Dr Ameen asked me "well do her eyes look yellow to you?" I'm not a Dr nor a trained health professional so It doesn't matter what I think I'd like a doctors opinion. She was not concerned about the Bilirubin levels at all and completely blew that off. My daughter was also IUGR so she was brown at 4lbs and 11oz. The dr wanted us to come back the next monday (we came on a Monday) for a weight check so the appointment scheduler puts us down for the following Monday . Weight checks are supposed to be days apart not a whole week!! The office calls me later in the day and tells me that Dr amen actually won't be in monday and bump me to the following Friday?? Almost a 2 week wait for a weight check. I call back the next day (Tuesday) and left a message ask about requesting a blood draw since she was so tiny (IUGR+Combs positive) it was a big concern of mine. Never got a call back. I called again on Thursday and again never received a call back! Absolutely would not recommend this office to anyone. I took my Dr to another pedi office and they got her blood drawn right away and we went in 2x a week for weight checks. I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. read more
