Matching molding would also be required for this job. I contacted the owner, Mike, and he made a same week appointment to provide an estimate. The estimate was super reasonable. Mike and I setup an installation date for the following week. Mike and his assistant arrived on time and went to work. Mike was very efficient and successfully installed a beautiful new door, matching door handle, and matching molding. The result was fantastic! Days later, I asked Mike if he could return to install some additional support slats for for a new bed. I knew it was a small job, but Mike made time to assist me. Mike responded and installed the 11 new slats in no time. His work made the bed super sturdy. Again, Mike's pricing was extremely reasonable. Here are some examples: Changed a faucet that dripped for YEARS that I was told was not fixable. Not only was it not dripping but he closed up the rusty old hole and made the tile look like the hole was never there. Had the uuuugliest fluorescent light in the living room, like "Joe vs the volcano" level, he replaced it, made it look like it was just all a bad dream. He replaced and fixed the kitchen door so it was even with the floor, when the door would open it would get stuck because the floor was not even, so he did some mathematical engineering and got it to work. He stabilized the dried out wooden pergola over the patio with wood and new metal supports so it didn't have to be torn down, saved a lot of money. He was able to design and construct from scratch a gorgeous washer and dryer enclosure that replaced a UGLY UGLY termite eaten shed that disintegrated when you barely touched it, rusted nails coming out, doors falling off the hinges. Throughout the process, he was very communicative, asking questions that involved functional design, placement, aesthetics. Even matched the hardware to the fences, which really was supercool. He also replaced a variety of ceiling fans, ceiling lights, bathroom faucet, drain, lights, kitchen drains, electrical plugs, fix a fence, and problem solve regarding how to hide wires, electrical cords. Long story short, I would highly recommend Brandon for house repairs, fixes, and design problem solving. His work is very thorough, detail and quality oriented, and he is very professional and is really an expert at what he does.

Because of that experience, when we recently had a horrible leak that required us to replace our entire kitchen island, pantry, and flooring, along with a few upgrades I had been wanting to do, James was one of the first people I reached out to. His wife was incredibly nice, accommodating, and understanding of our situation. James came out the following Saturday, took measurements, and spent time discussing the repairs and upgrades I wanted done. Then--nothing. I was completely ghosted. If he was too busy to take on the project, I would have completely understood. If the project was too small or simply wasn't something he wanted to take on, that's okay too. But after being a returning customer and taking the time to have him come out, measure everything, and discuss the project, I feel like I at least deserved the courtesy of a response. I called James directly and left a voicemail with no response. His wife had also confirmed my email address before he came out, so there were multiple ways to simply let me know they weren't interested or available. It's really unfortunate because I reached back out specifically because of the great experience we had with James 8 years ago. I would have happily continued recommending So Cal Woodwork to family and friends. Unfortunately, after being treated this way as a returning customer, I can no longer recommend them.
