    Charcoal BURNT cheeseburger. NASTY!!!

There should be an option for zero stars. Went to the Cook Out in Morrow Ga. The food was TERRIBLE!!! My burger was a black, crispy piece of charcoal. My chicken quesadilla was also burnt to a crisp. Who ever made that food knew darn well NOT to give paying customers BURNT FOOD!!!! As long as you all get a paycheck that is all you care about. This person should be FIRED on the spot for this nonsense. They do not belong in fast food at all. My husband got the BBQ grilled chicken sandwich, and it made him vomit. You all should be ashamed. That was a waste of $20.

The AmeriCAN food experience is ALIVE and THRIVING! Open or concealed carry, this Cookout eatery is as democratic of an experience as they come. The food was not warm...but who enjoys a fever? We've got to stop pretending we're too evolved for half-melted cheese or a corndog with a batter-to-wiener ratio that skews heavily towards batter. THIS is the experience society once valued when public school cafeteria's and church parking lot carnivals were the arenas for cultural discourse and exchange. It's not free...its FREEdom. GO TO COOK OUT. 4 stars, as in, FOUR MORE YEARS!

A messed up cheeseburger tray. They didn't get rite.

Food was nasty they didn't get my order rite at all am I will not be returning to this location always a problem with my order.

This was my first time trying Cookout, as west coast girl, and I must say how disappointed I was. The customer service was TERRIBLE; the drive thru line was to the road and while I understand a need for urgency to keep the line moving, the lady taking our order never once let me finish my sentence. The menu confused me a bit when I first got there so excuse me for asking questions and clarifying. They were out of root beer for the milkshake floats, and were so snappy when my friend requested a "reg barbecue" ... "REG BARBECUE WHAT? SANDWICH? NUGS? TENDERS?" Like chill out... your menu doesn't specify. They forgot my friends fries when she was supposed to have 2 sides, she only received the nuggets. The chili WAS SO SMALL I pulled it out and thought it was a SHOT of chili.. TLDR the food tasted fine, 6/10 nothing special, but the service was disappointing and unwelcoming.

This was my second trip to cook out but first at this location, and I must say my first experience definitely out preform this one. I don't have all negative things to say but I must say soggy lettuce is a big no no for me (on the burger and in the walking taco) plus THICK MILKSHAKE! I have no way to drink it until it melts which is a big turn off. Now on the brighter side I also got to taste the sweet tea definitely top tier no disappointment there! I'd rate the trip 6.5/10!

This Cook Out was on point from the food placement and the quality of food. My friend and I ate everything! Including the milk shake. I was so hungry and was so happy that this filled the spot.

Cheap (yeah) Tasty (Not for me) 2nd time here and I gotta say the stars are for the MILKSHAKES, HUSHPUPPIES and CHEERWINE!!! (I REPEAT..My opinion) First time I went I tasted a explosion of salt! Second visit I notice the same salt explosion that had my tastebuds feeling sick! The first visit I was hoping it was just what I had ordered.... (nope, it's the salt!) This time instead of the milkshake I had the cheerwine. (I like) I also enjoy the Banana milkshake from my first visit. Drive thru and inside are both crowded. Lots of people enjoy it I guess? ( to each their own) Don't let my review stop you, but if you have any blood pressure issues or hate salty food... STAY AWAY

Really impressive fast food and so cheap! Great milkshakes and tons of flavors. Sure it's not fancy food but it's all fresh and yummy. Workers are very friendly too. I got the mint choc shake and loved it!!! tenders fresh and crunchy and corn dog yum. Everything was great. Only wish they told us of all the sauces for dipping because it wasn't listed anywhere and we didn't know they had any until clicking through yelp.

I originally ordered one chili slaw dog and after inhaling it, I mean eating it, I ordered a second. (I had will power to leave after the 2nd one or I would closed the place down). The place is quaint and full of localness and charm. Be warned, there isn't a cloth napkin within 20 miles of the place. There are several rolls of paper towels and tear off what you need. My fellow Yelpers tipped me off to the kick the chili has. And kick it is. It is a slow burn that sneaks up on you. Fortunately, I had a smear of chilled slaw on top of it. The dog is a remarkable color red and the bun is steamed and it is wonderful! I ordered a side of onion rings- they were fried to order and while tasty, not the star of the show. My beverage was served in a bucket, 32 oz styrofoam cup with crunchy ice cubes. Again, wonderful. There was a steady pace of person ordering at the counter and the phone rang for pick up orders. And, as the sign says- Cash Only. The prices will not break your bank.

However, I also love great food prepared well, this is where Brandi and I diverge a bit. Located just north of Marietta square, it can be easy to miss, just watch for the railroad tracks that cross Church St. Parking as mentioned by others can be very tight, and you enter the lot from the right of the restaurant and circle around. My visit was at the beginning of the lunch rush, so parking was tight, but I could still find a space. Inside, Brandi's drips with history - the real kind that tells you that not much has changed in 20, 30, maybe 40 years. But it's not in that clapped out way, well worn like that favorite pair of shoes you've resoled three times and refuse to get rid of because they fit right and are so comfortable. Seat yourself at one of the handful of 4 top tables, or, at the 15 or so lunch counter stools. No menu is provided other than the one over the register - and remember, it's cash only. The menu is simple - hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, onion rings, soda, and sweet or unsweet tea. Grabbed my seat at the bar, and Brandi herself helped me. She, along with every single person working there were as kind and helpful as could be - a lost art for what Brandi's is, a quick serve place to grab an unpretentious and inexpensive lunch. Everything comes with white onions, mustard, and their chili - you can add cheese, or, ask for any of those items to be left off if you prefer. My move is to always try things the way the chef intended first, then modify next time around, so I went for the dressed up dog, and also a cheeseburger with the onions, mustard, and chili. Food was served quickly, maybe within five minutes of ordering with the four folks behind the counter working in that way where you know they've been doing this for a hot minute - everything and everyone in their place. Lots of regulars known by the staff - it's say the average age during this weekday lunch was pushing 60. This is where things start to slip a little at least for me. Brandi has kept things the same, including what ingredients they use. As such the hot dog is a red variety (hello red dye #3), and is a standard size dog (not a jumbo or foot long). White onions were crisp, the cole slaw a bit creamier that I'd personally prefer (but I found it worked really well like that on the dog), and then the chili. I was warned, as everyone is, that it is "very spicy". For my palette, I didn't find it to be particularly spicy although it had some zip that snuck up on you. I'm sure the cole slaw kept a little of that heat at bay. The hot dog itself, to me, just didn't have a lot of flavor which I guess is ok if the point is the toppings. It also was essentially room temperature which I found quite surprising given it was lunch rush, not sure if that was an anomaly or normal. But hey, for a couple of bucks, literally, I wasn't expecting a gourmet Snake River Farms Wagyu monster hot dog. This is where the price vs. quality index comes in to play. Now, the burger on the other hand, honestly, it was a mistake. I'd somehow expected them to have been griddle cooked and therefore have that well seasoned griddle char that so many old school flat tops in the hands of pros can deliver. This was a grey, not crusty, small patty that almost seemed steamed to me - if that's your jam, awesome, just isn't mine. As with the dog, almost none of the flavor of the ground beef came through - it was really overwhelmed by the chili. The hamburger bun was also kinda hard which I don't know if that's by design, or an indicator of buns that have been sitting around a while. Last up - fries. Reviews I'd read talked about them being crispy and well seasoned. Mine came out lukewarm and kinda flabby, and no hint of crispness anywhere. I might have ordered wrong as the onion rings others had looked good. Not much on the seasoning side either. So - all in, it had that very old school locals place with a lot of history to it vibe, and was nearly packed during lunch which is great to see these days with food and labor costs what they are for restaurants. On the food side, I'd say for the (very low) price, I'd go back and I know now what I'm in for. My tip off should have been the regulars sitting around me downing 2, 3, and even 4 dogs - no burgers I could see. And the staff - just honest, really friendly folks, working their tail off to serve up a piece of Marietta history. Had the dog come out hot, the fries been crispy vs. soggy, that would definitely bump them up a star. The burger, I'll chalk that up to my not reading the room....

Just a cleaner, more polished version of what is already there. Keep the character, keep the history, keep the nostalgia. Just make it feel cleaner and a little more cared for. The food itself was pretty underwhelming. Nothing was especially BAD, but very little was memorable either. For a place with this much history and reputation, I expected more. The service was ok...just like any other fast food restaurant these days. We really don't expect great service from the front counter workers anymore and Skip's was no different. You'll come in and there's nobody to greet you, but there are people walking around and people behind the stalls and you have plenty of options to pick from. And it's kind of a multi-room situation because one part of the establishment has a lot of the food hall stalls and the other part of it has a couple stalls, some rooms you can probably reserve, and a very large bar. They have plenty of specials on some signage screens so if you go in just be aware of that. They have events like happy hour and music being played on a live situation and some other thing so just keep that in mind. Anyway, specifically about the hot dog situation, I ordered and got a beeper when it was ready. I got it and it was okay. It seemed like it was more chilly than it was dog. And because I'm from Michigan, I'm very critical on what a Coney dog should be like. Do you want the hot dog to be covered but not drowned in the chili. So not that it's bad but as you can guess this got pretty messy LOL. I thought it was tasty. It's not like home but it was pretty good. When I try other hot dogs from there, I would actually. The staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive, which sets a fantastic tone before you even take your first bite.As for the food, the execution across the board is outstanding. I tried three distinct regional styles, and each brought its own unique character to the table. The Carolina Slaw Dog is a beautiful balance of textures, pairing a juicy, perfectly grilled sausage with a mountain of crisp, cool, and tangy coleslaw that cuts through the richness beautifully. The New Yorker plays the hits flawlessly, topped with robust, savory sauerkraut and a sharp drizzle of mustard that delivers that authentic, classic snap. My absolute favorite of the lineup, however, was the Chicago Dog. It is a vibrant, color-packed masterpiece loaded with the mandatory neon relish, crisp pickle spears, fresh tomatoes, and that essential dash of celery salt. Every single bite hits the perfect harmony of salty, sweet, and tangy flavors. You cannot skip the sides here either. I ordered a mix of both the regular and sweet potato fries. The regular fries are golden, perfectly salted, and boast a flawless, shattering crunch on the outside while staying light and fluffy inside. The sweet potato fries provide a stellar contrast, featuring a beautifully caramelized exterior and a tender, naturally sweet center.Whether you are a hot dog purist or looking for a creative twist on a classic staple, this spot delivers on quality, cleanliness, and stellar customer service.
