History

Established in 2015.

Cookie Chick's cookies started 30+ years ago as "bribes" to CCSA students & volunteers for good ski lessons and was formed as a cottage industry in May 2015, with bake-to-order cookies, made with premium ingredients & no preservatives. They quickly found a niche with Corporate customers who made great use of the ability to present the cookies as gifts representing their brand. Cookie Chicks' clientele and business grew, necessitating the opening of their licensed storefront space in May 2017 in Comstock Park. Since then, they've helped to incubate and provide brick & mortar space to 9 other small businesses. In 2021, during the Covid pandemic, they tripled their space to provide additional square footage and ability to support a wider array of small start up food businesses under their sub-brand of Cooking Connection. Part of Cookie Chick's mission is to create adapted facilities and processes to provide training and employment to physically and cognitively impaired young adults

Meet the Business Owner: Holly D.

With more than 30 years in Corporate Marketing/Branding and the recipe for a great, unique cookie from partner Tami Pelham, Holly started Cookie Chicks initially, as a Cottage Industry. In late 2016 after being approached by 1-800-FLOWERS to partner in the West MI market for fulfillment of their Fruit Bouquet business, Cookie Chicks made the big step to full time, with a new storefront on busy West River Drive in Comstock Park- opening just before Mother's Day 2017. Since then we have expanded both our product offerings with Cookie Bouquets, Pies, Muffins, Dessert Fondue...all in a effort to appeal to the West MI consumer. We have also expanded our staff and provide supported employment to intellectually challenged individuals. We offer special events like "Ladies Night Out" and children's and couple's cooking classes. Also, we welcome other cottage industry businesses to use our facility- call for details.
