Ordered a new condenser and moving forward we just had to wait for AHS to approve. Came out today to install unit and the guys were great. House is cool. Realized the drain was filling up fast. Realized Mauzy came out last year to fix a clog and didn't do a good job. This business gets my vote and I'm glad they are used by American Hime shield. Took a while but hey it's done now. read more

This company was assigned through Old Republic for an AC tune-up (March 2025). The technician came out, stated that everything was fine, and left without providing any written summary, service report, or documentation of what was inspected. More concerning is the quality and completeness of the service provided. The technician only asked the tenant to turn on the thermostat. He did not: Inspect the outdoor condenser unit Check the electrical connections Access the attic to inspect the main AC unit Perform any meaningful system diagnostics The entire visit lasted approximately five minutes. When asked about replacing the air filter, the technician stated that it was not covered under the warranty. However, after I contacted Old Republic Home Warranty directly, I was informed that if the homeowner provides the filter, the technician can install it. This option was never communicated to us during the visit. For comparison, I have previously scheduled AC tune-up services through Home Depot at a cost of $60-$90. Those services included: Inspection of the outdoor condenser Inspection of the main unit in the attic Electrical checks Replacement of the air filter A service duration of approximately 30 minutes Given that this service required a $100 trade call fee under the warranty plan, the level of service provided was clearly inadequate and did not meet reasonable professional standards for an AC tune-up. read more

They came out said everything was fine and never gave me a summary or any kind of report out (March 2025). Now it's August and my AC was short cycling and not cooling the home. First of all let me tell you that do not go with this company. First they don't take phone calls they want you to text them. Second when you do text him sometimes they don't even respond back. Third they came by and left and I thought that they were now going to order the part. But then I found out that they came the first time and did not take pictures so they want to come by the second time to take pictures of the blower fan. Absolutely horrible experience with Cool Air For You through AHS (American Home Shield). The technician came out to do a routine tune-up -- my AC was working perfectly before his visit. Right after he left, the unit completely stopped cooling and now doesn't work at all. I immediately called them back, and they promised to return, but flaked not once -- twice! No-shows, no calls, no accountability. They clearly damaged my system during the "tune-up," then ghosted me when asked to fix their mess. This company is dishonest, unreliable, and unprofessional -- classic example of a warranty contractor scam who breaks things to generate extra repair jobs. This Contractor was sent out by our Home Warranty Services. The Contractor didn't even do a complete check of my tenants HVAC unit which was the reason for the service call. He stated he would send estimate and never did. A full report was never given to the Home Warranty service so it wasnt on record of what needed to be done. They were supposed to come back out to do a thorough check and never showed up. No phonecalls were returned letting my tenant know why they didnt show up. After having the exact same problem again, I placed a service call three months ago, and I am still waiting for my air-conditioning to be fixed. They were the second HVAC company sent out by FAHW. The prior company was at my house for a while and said that the whole system needed to be replaced. Leo from cool Air was my technician and he diagnosed and moved the irregular starting issue in under an hour. In the time, he also treated the system a couple of times to make sure that it was working properly. Leo was very clear about the work he was doing and was professional and personable. First, American home warranty sent this company to my house to repair my AC unit that was not cooling. Without even checking for leaks. The technician connected his gauges and topped my r22 system off with r422b contaminating my system with two different types of refrigerants. They were in and out of my house in 30 minutes. They did not repair anything. I complained to the home warranty company and after going back and forth for 3 weeks they agreed to send a different company to finish the job. Joseph seemed to be on track with a possible problem and then had another repair man from the same company come out and tried to tell me my system had an electric surge and fried everything, which was 100% false, almost laughable. I had a second opinion come out 2 days later and they found the root of the problem, ended up being a super clogged filter up in the attic that i didnt know about, replaced it and everything is working as expected. I have First American Home Warranty and I had a relatively negative experience with the replacement of my water heater in the past so I will say I came in with a bad disposition. Claudia called me within an hour of getting the ticket and had availability for the next day. I was told that Leo would be there between 12:00 and 3:00 and he arrived at around 12:05. We had stairs outside in the sun and our AC was obviously not working, but he worked through it. When I asked questions, he gave me good answers and explained what was happening and why he though it was happening. Once diagnosed, Leo was able to fix the parts in the first trip and got my AC back up and running. Again, when I asked for an explanation, he was very helpful in explaining what happened. I can't speak for other technicians, but I will say that my service was fast and effective. Leo was great and got it up and running, and left the areas he worked in just as clean as how he found them. Positive experience overall! read more

After several days of back and forth, because if you miss their call and try to immediately call them back, they won't answer - you have to leave a message (very unprofessional phone, btw, you call and there's a menu option for leaving a message directly, and another menu option to speak with a person - that option never gets answered, nor does it redirect to voicemail, so after waiting for several minutes with no answer, you have to hang up and call back to select the voicemail option) and they don't call you back until the next day, I finally was able to get an appointment scheduled. They were supposed to come today, in a 3 hour window. They of course never called and never showed up. I tried calling them to see if they were coming, and of course nobody answered. They were contracted through First American, like most of the other reviewers on here - such a waste of time and money. This company is incredibly unprofessional. They scheduled me immediately and Joseph had products on hand to repair our condensers on the spot. I had a warranty claim with First American Home Warranty for my HVAC system, and after several failed attempts from previous contractors who gave incorrect diagnoses leading to multiple claim denials (including one from the same company), Daryl, the supervisor from "Cool Air for You," came to the rescue. Daryl diagnosed the blower issue, which I had suspected all along, and got my system up and running. He is super experienced, friendly, and provided me with tons of tips on my system. Despite the company's mixed reviews, I would recommend not giving up if your repairs are being denied. I filed a claim through the California Insurance Board, which helped move things along. The only downside was the first technician's lack of knowledge about my multi-zoned HVAC system and the difficulty in contacting the company. They only take voicemails and usually respond within 24 hours, but they were always super nice on the phone. Overall, "Cool Air for You" came through, and I am grateful for Daryl's expertise and assistance. read more

Ok.. I know this was a home warranty chosen company. But it was hard to get ahold of anyone at the office. It took 6 weeks to get the AC and parts. Then they finally came, and the AC unit they ordered was too big to wheel down my little pathway that they had measured originally for. Then, the installers demanded $300 cash right then to undo my chainlink fence to fit it thru there. I told them no because they didn't have the tools to stretch it back, and I have dogs. They called their office after I told them to leave (they had the nerve to get pissy with me because they came from San Diego...I didn't hire them, don't care). The office told them not to worry about the $300. So now I do have a great working AC system, but a very floppy/loose fence that I now have to pay to get fixed. read more
