I came to Dr Tahir because a couple of my lower teeth had shifted as an adult. I had already had braces as a child. I did Invisilign this time around. I hardly ever saw the Dr during my regular visits. When I did see the Dr I was chided for asking too many questions. His staff did most of the work on my teeth and some didn't seem to know what they were doing. One even prepped the wrong tooth for gripping my upper teeth tray. Too many trays later and too much money spent, my lower teeth are still crooked. Many years later I still feel like my smile became much more crowded then it was. I wish I would have left my teeth alone. Definitely get another opinion before making a final decision to come here. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Tahir for years and have always loved my visits to his office. I think a lot of people place negative connotations on orthodontists because of difficult experiences, but that is NOT the case for my time with Dr. Tahir! First, anyone who hasn't physically stepped into his office needs to go ASAP. He has two locations - one in Oak Lawn and one in Berwyn. Both are beautiful, but his Berwyn office is truly impressive. Massive TVs with fun movies playing, free arcade games (like Pac-Man!!!) to keep you occupied, and all the magazines your intellectual mind could desire. Now onto the staff. Everyone I've met at Dr. Tahir's offices is SO. NICE. People are always smiling, very patient, and clearly capable. I've never felt so pampered before when I visit a doctor's office! They're truly great folks, and you can tell they want you to be as comfortable and cared for as possible. Lastly, Dr. Tahir is fantastic. He runs his office like a true professional. He's efficient, super courteous, and surprisingly funny #dadjokes. His work is always flawless. I'm happy to say that I'm 80% through my Invisalign treatment and my teeth look amazing! (can't even provide last name) since this is all public, let me ask you: Do you live your life in negative waters? I am a phone call away and everyone has my cell number. Here it is publicly: 630-687-3393. You saw me a year ago for a free consultation and I could've easily done what many are doing (starting braces too soon). I saved you and your child from a MAJOR headache. A year later, you turn on the same person that helped you. For $75 to cover cost of xray/treatment review? Petty. Thank you for showing your true colors. People love to see their name in lights and with online reviews and social media, say what they want, sites like these, until doctors pay advertising fees, positive reviews keep disappearing - keeps adding to this mess. It's a good thing we did not go forward as I can see from your other negative reviews, you look for the 1/2 glass empty in life (Read my writings on living a positive, abundant life). Why not use your very limited time in this life to lift up with your words and attitude and teach same to your children, instead of looking for negativity and knocking things down? BTW: I love Drs. I never said as a dentist I did not like my original consultation, I actually said I did like it, and as a medical professional, it was your duty to inform me if my son needed to wait or not. I am actually glad you responded this way because it has shown your true colors, and I would not want to deal with ignorance at its finest. If I made it clear to the receptionist, that I was going with your practice, and they could see everything would be covered, why not just waive the $75, or add it to the bill, which again would be covered by the insurance. Oh wait, maybe it is because you like to take advantage of people (you see what I did, I just assumed like someone who is ignorant). Instead of trying to make sure your staff is fully trained to be customer service friendly, you spent your down time looking through my reviews. In 2013 for Dinolfo's which was very accurate (there are many similar reviews), 2016 Xposed was badly reviewed and again has very similar bad reviews, and in 2016 Eva's bridal which actually called and acknowledged their wrong doing. Hmmm I posted 3 bad reviews as a bride a few years ago for other brides to read, so they do not make a bad choice when a very special day in their life that comes once in a lifetime, but you wouldn't know anything about that because first time braces for a new teen doesn't seem to be something you would consider life changing and I guess that's why you do not care to treat your customers right. As to your 1/2 empty glass reference, nope, if I am paying for a full glass( almost $5k), I better be getting that because if I get a 1/2 glass like your practice was offering me, I understand why you receive this and other poor reviews. Now I am going to be PETTY. Looking through your numerous bad reviews, I would say they are all very similar and negative, which speaks volumes of your practice. One thing though, do not ever bring my children up in your petty ass mess. One thing I teach them is not to put up with bullshitters like you. Why don't you run a well-organized practice??? Maybe you need to invest in training to teach your staff and yourself to remember whose insurance is paying and focus on customer service, running a smooth business instead of going on yelp to stalk people files. MAYBE, if you stopped stalking people's files, you would have time to answer the phones and people wouldn't be on hold soooooo long. Better yet, you should shadow Drs. If you are in need of some ortho work this is the guy/team for you. I am not sure where I heard about this guy when researching BUT I am so glad I went to visit his office. First of all the place is filled with flat screens and comfy chairs and lots of smiling faces that work there. They have video games and a coffee/drink machine to make you drool. BUT this is not why I went there.. its just a bonus. This orthodontist knows his stuff and him and his team will never lead you on the wrong path for your needs. I had went in originally wanting those clear braces that you change out every 2 weeks.. totally expensive and he honestly told me they wouldn't work for me... So we worked out options best for me and in less then a year my smile was perfect. The staff in gentle and understanding.. I have never been to any other orthodontist but this guy is tops in my books. I have referred him to several people and they too have all had positive experiences. He is a little on the pricey side, but in cases of teeth.. you get what you pay for. read more

I would first like to start off by saying i was quite insecure about my teeth and hated smiling with them. My dentist had referred me and my brother to Dr. Tahir and I must say I was scared at first I mean who wouldn't be, having the thought of getting braces on. I had friends who had braces (not by dr Tahir) and they would mention how painful it was and how they weren't able to eat or couldn't eat certain foods, how horrible is that. Well my first visit dr Tahir suggested if I wanted to get Invisalign, which are clear trays. Which is great since you can eat mainly anything you want. During my consultation, Dr Tahir and his assistant explained various options and let me and my mom know which was best. As busy as he was/is he did not rush and took the time to make sure we understood everything correctly. Which is important to me. I really like how they give you a little treat bag with lots of goodies (healthy of course) and a book featuring dr Tahir. How awesome is that!!! I let him know I wanted the fastest results between braces and Invisalign and he highly recommended Invisalign. After about a year with Invisalign I saw results right away even after a month prior to wearing them. I only have to wear them for 15months. It does not feel like I been wearing them for 12months already. The assistants are very professional and great. They're always full of joy and super nice!!! I love how they have games to keep kids occupied and TVs all over the office so while you're waiting you won't be bored!! My teeth are looking great and I'm more confident about my smile than ever before!! Thank you soo much Dr Tahir and staff for my beautiful smile!!! I'd like to start off by saying that I pretty much went on in life avoiding to smile in pictures, I was super embarrassed to show my teeth. I avoided certain shades of lipstick thinking it would only enhance the look of my horrible teeth. One day I just went on google and typed "best orthodontist in the Chicago area", and there it was.. Dr. Tahir! I scheduled a free consultation and was given all the information needed. On the second visit I got my braces, from that point and on I gained confidence I started to smile in pictures, I seriously felt pretty cool! I was 27 years old I am now 32 years old with a beautiful smile and gained enough confidence to show off my smile.. Believe me is never too late to wear braces.. Dr. Tahir is not only the best in the field, the staff is wonderful from the moment you walk in, each and every staff member make you feel so welcomed. I definitely recommend this place to everyone who is looking to straighten their teeth! Very patient friendly office and staff! They make you feel comfortable with all of the amenities in the office such as FREE game machines, complimentary coffee, an a huge screen tv that plays all of the new released movies! I had braces there years ago and still remember how much I enjoyed my experience. Now that I am an adult and in the work force, I can see the great benefits from my smile. Great confidence and self esteem and ability to take pictures without fear. Dr.Tahir and his team are great... Not only is he results oriented and works diligently until your smile is literally flawless, but he has an uncanny ability to inspire and motivate his staff to perform with excellence and to stay focused on patient's comfort and the end goal - the hollywood smile. So the doctor thought I was too hard on my initial review of him. I deleted anything that can possibly seen as "abusive"...which it never was. "Baseless" huh? Again....go see for yourself if you think my review might be far fetched. It's an assembly line chock full of video games and other pleasantries to distract from that fact. I have the right to my own opinion. My first review was NOT flagged for being abusive or it would have been removed by Yelp....which it never was. So he has been in practice for eons....big deal. Lots of businesses are and that doesn't make them right. Also note that he does not deny the FACT that his help, the very help that works on your mouth, has ZERO certification. Again, most of which are maybe 19 to 23 years of age. These are not words of "disrespect and insult" as the doctor accuses. They are simply my views on his business. Views that no one is required to follow. Why would I randomly fabricate this? There are plenty of businesses in good standing with no complaints. As I said, your help was rude to us and your form was less than stellar. We complained and ZERO effort was made by you and your team to make a wrong right....if that was even possible. Seems awfully cowardice to report to Yelp any reviews that don't swing in your favor. Also, there is no "holding my own ground". This is not a review of my business. Furthermore, I resent that you imply how "shaky my own position is" doc. And what exactly should I be "seeing the glass" half full of? Here's a quote for you..."If it walks like a duck and quacks like one...it's likely a duck." As a side note, drive past this guy's office....I have to everyday on my way to work. He constantly and forever has a big "Help wanted" sign in his front window on the second floor. Wonder why that is? Because he's concerned with doing volume...not necessarily quality....like McDonald's. Hence the assembly line. And when your business model is such and you staff folks not specifically specialized to their field....you get high turn over rates. Yes McDonald's has served millions....and made millions. So what? They also have mostly lousy food and workers who moonlight as a means to an end. If I'm paying filet mignon money.....which I would have been for my child to go there....I want a chef handling my food...not a fry cook plumb out of high school. I still get compliments about how nice my teeth (and jaw line )are by dentists and strangers. I got my braces at the age of 12 and now I am 28. I probably should go back there when I have my baby. I know that pregnancy can do some crazy stuff to the mouth. Dr. Tahir still remembered me the last time I came in when my permanent retainer broke (maybe 4 years ago). He even asked about my family by name. He is very personable and friendly.He probably wouldn't recognize my new last name but I am sure that he would remember my mouth and face. Ha! I schedule an appointment with Dr. Tahir a few weeks ago and canceled it after arriving at his office. I previously had orthodontic work done, in which I had braces from 2011 until 2013. I have a permanent retainer and a removable one at the top. Prior to the consultation I was told that I would be charged $75 since I previously had orthodontic work done, I was okay with that. I paid the $75 dollars upon my arrival, before seeing Dr. Tahir. I was called back and was greeted by one of his assistants that had documents prepared for the cost of my treatment, which was a grand total of $4000. Dr. Tahir had yet to see me and assess the condition of my mouth. How can you formulate a price without seeing me? (my original treatment with braces was $4,800). I'm a Registered Nurse and the sequence of events did not make sense to me, so I did what was best for me and my insurance company (that would have covered a max of $2,000 on orthodontic work) and went elsewhere. I consulted another orthodontist that week and he recommended a few trays of Invisalign for a total of $600. Costing me only $300 out of pocket, since my insurance covered 50%. I'm not sure what Dr. Tahir practices, but something isn't right. I learned a lesson. Shop around for medical treatment! On a good note, everyone appeared nice in the office, and I wasn't given a hard time regarding the refund of my $75 consultation fee. read more

I had a great experience from the beginning to the end, it was no wonder Dr. Tahir stood out above the rest. Every employee was warm, genuine, and sincere in the way they engaged their patients, the employees actually took the time to get to know their patients as individuals. I seen my smile slowly evolve into one I could not recognize, one that I could not truly believe was my own, and when the braces were taken off, I was ecstatic to know this was my smile. Let me begin by saying that Dr. Tahir is incredibly knowledgable and personable. Dr. Tahir sat down with us and lent us a good amount of time and expertise. However, when it came time for pricing...that experience wasn't the best. My sister and I both wanted the same work done on our teeth. She was insured and I was not. There was a 2,000 dollar difference between our costs. Why? We inquired and it basically boiled down to me being uninsured so he could without flag or guidelines given from insurance companies. Also, we waited 1.5 hours to see Dr. Tahir from our appointment time (we arrived 20 mins early). He is severely overbooked. I received a good deal of information from Dr. Tahir that guided me find an orthodontist with similiar views and experience with 1/2 the cost. I recently had an appt not too long ago (couple weeks) and I believe that this orthodontist is not well. This ortho does self-ligating braces, which are a newer kind and ever since they have switched over, I feel as though nothing happens frequently. I have had these braces for over 2 years almost and they have never changed the wire at all in over a year (maybe only 3 times because the wires are still "activating" but I have before and after pics of every appt I've had and my teeth have NOT shifted in over 5 months. So what is the point of coming to an appt?) you leave with no explanation at all, you wait over 30 min after you appt begins in the waiting room (even if you arrive early), this place is full of college drop outs who are not certified but are 'trained' by the doctor himself, and the doctor only sees you for only 5 min max. (while telling the assistants what to do). I am utterly ashamed that this is my orthodontist that I travel back and forth to every 2 months to find out that they are not going to do anything to the wires, adjust anything, etc. You all see these wonderful reviews about the smile this doctor has granted them, but it is more than a smile to look at. read more
